Ballister touched his hair where Kael had ruffled it, watching his master leave the tea house with a calm expression despite everything they had just heard and witnessed. His master had just learned that he might have a family and that his wife was a gift from a witch, yet he looked unfazed, smiling as if everything was okay and continuing to do as he pleased. Ballister paused slowly in his steps, his eyes fixed on Kael's long legs and tall frame.

"Master,"

Ballister muttered, admiration filling his eyes for the only master he would ever serve in his life. It was genuine love that filled Ballister's heart for his master. Even if the world were burning to pieces, he would rather stand beside his master, looking at his face; that way, the fire wouldn't hurt as much. He shook his head, knowing that same fire would likely be caused by Kael.
