Jacquelyn stood at the corner where Kael had left her, watching as he walked toward Lord Ryver. She wondered what Kael was planning to do, though he had promised to fulfill her wish and not kill the man. Yet, Jacquelyn didn't fully trust his word, Kael always had a way of twisting things. Saying something and then doing another. Squeezing her hands together, her gaze fell to the back of her hand where Kael had kissed her earlier.

Kael often surprised her with his actions. He didn't seem like someone who would be soft with a woman, yet he'd touch her face gently and had even given her the softest kiss. Jacquelyn smiled, pressing her lips together tightly. She returned her gaze to the alley where Kael now crouched in front of Lord Ryver.
