Capítulo 55: Devil's gift

Kael lounged lazily on one of the tree branches, one leg dangling while the other was raised. He continued grinning, but seeing that the girl's eyes were wide with fear, he frowned.

"No? Not excited to see me?" Kael raised his hand. "I thought I made an interesting entrance, guess I didn't." He clicked his tongue, wiping the red fruit on his shirt.

The Vampire King raised the fruit to the sky. "The passion poison, venomous to humans but enjoyed by night walkers." He grinned, taking a large bite and chewing slowly. He pointed his finger at Griselda, who was losing her life with every passing second.

"You know, the life of an Elyse is like an elixir," he drawled the last word, lazily taking another bite. "The banes won't stop until they take it from her."

Jacquelyn lay there on the ground, covered in sand. She wasn't sure what to do at that point, but she just looked at the man who had the power to either kill or save her, depending on his mood.
