None can probably blame Kayn for being so cautious.
He is now dancing on a tightrope. If he is not careful, he may die of horrific death. He must be cautious in almost everything.
The Uchiha clan has been passed down for thousands of years. Over the years, who knows if anyone has awakened Kotoamatsukami and recorded it?
"Elder Setsuna, Shisui once told me that his Kotoamatsukami can completely rewrite the will of others."
Kayn spoke in a low voice and started divulging that secret past that he and Shisui had buried together...
"Initially, Danzo arranged for Shisui and Itachi to be the accomplices in an attempt to wipe out our clan. However, Shisui did not want to see a civil war between our clan and Konoha, so he decided to use Kotoamatsukami to influence Sarutobi Hiruzen and make him order to stop this entire situation."
Kayn looked sad, thinking that he wouldn't be able to watch the hundred GB worth of 'videos' that he painstakingly downloaded for a couple of nights anymore.
He was filled with sorrow and said with moist eyes.
"Before the operation, he specifically told me that if anything happened to him, I should find a way to recover his eye and do what he cannot."
Uchiha Setsuna was shocked when he heard this.
He didn't expect that Shisui's Kotoamatsukami would be so terrifying.
If he had known this earlier, the clan could have become the ruler of Konoha and restored its former glory!
The regret and unwillingness were like a poisonous snake biting at his heart. The more he regretted now, the more he hated the person who had destroyed it all.
Danzo, Hiruzen, and Itachi!!
Such an ungrateful bastard!!
Out of pure frustration, Uchiha Setsuna's chest heaved violently, he was gasping for breath, his face flushed, and the veins on his forehead bulged.
Kayn was worried that something bad might happen to him. That would be bad for his plan, so he quickly opened his mouth to calm the Elder down.
"Elder Setsuna, please calm down. It's not worth getting stressed over it."
One can imagine how deep the resentment in Uchiha Setsuna's heart was for him to almost have a heart attack like that.
Sure enough, what is more hateful than the invaders are the traitors.
"Don't worry, Elder Setsuna. Soon, I will make Itachi pay. But our top priority right now is to find a way to get to Danzo and take back Shisui's Mangekyo Sharingan from him. And we gotta do it fast." Kayn paused for a second before continuing with a serious expression on his face.
"Shisui told me that, once used, it takes decades for his Kotoamatsukami to be used again. I am not sure whether Danzo has already used it or not, but he definitely has plans for it given that he actively sought it from Shisui."
"... Though, there's a chance he has yet to do it. Our sudden moves might have put his plans in a derail somehow. But there's no guarantee, that's why we must act fast!"
"Hmm... Kayn, tell me what you had in mind?"
Hearing this, Kayn made a small smile and said "Elder Setsuna, I plan to lure Danzo out of the village, then surround and kill him. Of course, at the same time, we'll take Shisui's eyes back!"
"Oh?" Uchiha Setsuna became interested.
"We can use the initial plan to capture a video of Hiruzen Sarutobi and Danzo Shimura intending to rebel and hand it over to the Daimyo. This method is what we'll use to lure Danzo out of the village."
Kayn then hesitated for a second, looking distressed "But how to kill Shimura Danzo... I think I will have to depend on the Elder for that."
Hearing Kayn's sheepish tone, Setsuna gave him a confident smile
"That's easy. When Konoha set up the barrier, our clan also participated in it. It is not a problem to avoid the barrier."
"In regards to dealing with Danzo. As long as he leaves Konoha, I will personally lead the elites of our Clan to surround and kill him."
Seeing Kayn's sudden complicated look upon mentioning that he personally would lead the charge, Setsuna made a small laugh.
"Do you think I'm too old to lift a kunai?"
"Elder Setsuna, even if there's ten of me, I wouldn't be able to defeat you. All I'm worrying about is your safety."
Kayn frowned and explained, "With Shisui's strength, he could have easily retreated even if he was ambushed by Danzo and his men... but he died."
"I suspect that Danzo might have something up in his sleeve that ultimately caused Shisui's death."
Kayn's analysis was well-reasoned.
Uchiha Shisui's skills as a shinobi were pretty well known. Even without awakening the Mangekyo Sharingan, he was still among the elites of Konoha.
Not to mention the awakened Mangekyo Sharingan!
Uchiha Setsuna lowered his eyes as if he was thinking about something.
Kayn also remained silent, secretly pondering the subsequent plans.
After a while, Uchiha Setsuna exhaled a breath, formed seals with his hands, and summoned an ancient-looking scroll.
"This scroll is the true heritage of our clan. It contains the knowledge accumulated over thousands of years. Now that you have awakened the Three Tomoe Sharingan, you are qualified to keep it."
Kayn, with a surprised look, stood up quickly and politely refused, "Elder Setsuna, such a valuable thing, how can a young member of the Clan like me be qualified to keep it?"
"If I say you have it, you have it!"
Uchiha Setsuna glared at Kayn, rudely stuffed the scroll into his hands, stood up, and paced back and forth, saying... "No one knows whether the family can survive this disaster. I have one foot in the coffin. Originally, I was already ready to hand it over to Itachi... before I found that he is an ungrateful traitor."
"His father is also a hopeless case. Among the younger generation of the family, only you whom I deemed qualified. I will feel great relief if it's you."
Although he heard the Elder's reasoning for it, the troubled look on Kayn's face remained.
"Open it and take a look."
Kayn sighed in his heart. He already had an idea of what was inside the scroll. It's probably just the origin of the Uchiha clan, the evolution of the Sharingan, as well as ninjutsu, illusion, and the like.
At most, two more forbidden techniques, Izanagi and Izanami.
That's all.
Kayn consoled himself, then lowered his head to look at the scroll.
A couple of moments later, he finally decided to stretch out his hand and unfold it.
