Capítulo 86: Chapter 86 : Chunin Exam Finals 4
With how Sasuke reacted, it was clear to Shika that he was in, just needed to show some proof now which he could do easily as long as everything went as planned.
But to do that, Shika first has to seal One Tail's chakra inside Gaara. That is crucial, in the anime Gaara was wounded by Sasuke and had to be taken out of the village, making the appearance of the One Tail outside the village, pretty much spoiling all the plans Orochimaru had for the Gaara, though of course if Naruto wasn't there then the plan might have worked ultimately the plan was flopped so there is nothing else to say.
It didn't take a long time for Shikamaru's and Temari's match to end and it pretty much went like the anime. Shikamaru gave up the fight in the end Temari won.
Finally, Shika's and Gaara's match was here. This was the match that people were looking forward to seeing. Actually, even Shika didn't know that he was hyped up quite a bit after his fight with Sasuke. Many now wanted to see his fight against Gaara.
Shika didn't care too much about what was going on in the village, he pretty much wanted to stay away from politics for as long as possible.
He was only looking for tangible power and not political power.
"Shika," Kurenai called out just before Shika was about to enter the fighting area.
"Kurenai sensei, what happened ?" Shika asked in confusion.
"Give up this match Shika." Kurenai didn't say anything but directly said this making Shika stiff, though he understood why she was staying this.
He, Sasuke even Hinata didn't see Gaara's and Lee's fight. Because they didn't know, but Kurenai knew and for someone who had taught Shika, she didn't want the same to happen to Shika.
"Don't worry Kurenai Sensei. I know what I am doing, I naturally have a way to handle this guy." Shika assured her and smiled, and though that didn't seem to solve Kurenai's worries, Shika didn't care anymore and entered the fighting area.
Genma looked at both the participants and his eyes lingered a tad bit longer on Shika, maybe he too knew about the S rank mission which Hokage gave him, Maybe?
"Start." Proctor finally said and the fight started.
But neither of the two participants moved, Gaara didn't move on his own, he wanted Shika to attack him first, maybe because he just wanted to drag the fight a little longer before killing the boy in front of him.
Shika didn't move because he wanted to see how much sanity Gaara retained right now, that would explain how much he could push the boy before finally sealing him.
Seeing the boy was calmly standing there, Shika just sighed… this meant that Shika had some time to prepare.
From now on, there were two ways that he could go… either drag the fight and give others a good show which is exactly what he was planning before, but now that he has already gotten the rewards for becoming a Chunin, he won't be doing all that to please others.
He plans to end this fight quickly and save his chakra as much as possible. With that thought his hand almost became a blur and the next second he internally called out.
'Hidden Mist Jutsu.'
The air shifted and mist started to form around him, this was harder to do than a month ago because this place was open with wind and at the same time this place was much larger to completely covered with mist.
But that's fine, he plans to end the fight soon anyway.
As soon as the mist appeared, others who were looking for a good fight frowned, they were there to watch a thrilling fight, not for this.
Orochimaru who was right now sitting beside Hokage frowned internally, he wanted to see Shika fight, but he knew that if Shika used this one jutsu he wouldn't be able to see him in action. But unlike last time he couldn't use wind jutsu to remove that mist, he was sitting beside the third Hokage, and there was no way to do that.
Only civilians were the ones who were mostly complaining. Shinobi kept quiet, ultimately they would know the result so there was no reason to complain that much.
Inside the mist, Gaara too wasn't able to see anything, he looked around trying to find Shika but he didn't have the kind of sense to pinpoint his opponent. But he didn't care honestly, he believed in his absolute defence, so he just waited for Shika to come to him.
Shika at this time was putting a barrier seal inside the mist. Not enough to stop a Biju but it can stop any chakra outburst which might leak later on and alert Orochimaru.
Once he was done and a small barrier was erected, he got ready to act.
He though had no sensing capabilities but due to his training and Zabuza's talent, he was able to pinpoint others in his mist infuse with his chakra pretty well.
He clapped his hand and pointed the tips of the finger at Gaara who was still standing in one place without moving, waiting for him.
"Convergence." Shika smirked, finally the technique was completed and he was eager to see how it had come along.
He stood in one place and increased the pressure of water in his palm, and just when the pressure was enough he fired.
A jet of steam line water ejected out of his palm, the speed was so fast that it rivalled some of the fastest lightning jutsu.
Before even Gaara could realise what happened, he felt something piercing him, only later on the pain hit him changing his usual calm tone.

Capítulo 87: Chapter 87 : Chunin Exam Finals 5
The atmosphere in the Chunin Exam finals was tense. The crowd was filled with anticipation as both Shika and Gaara were covered in the mist, and its been some time without any outcome.
Shika knew that Gaara was dangerous, especially with the Shukaku, inside him. The sand armour that always surrounded Gaara was impenetrable to most attacks and Shika knew that well, that is why he trained hard and perfected the techniques that would give him an advantage.
Water Convergence. It was a technique he had spent months perfecting, a sharp, piercing stream of water capable of breaking through even the toughest defences.
With precision and speed, Shika launched the attack. The water converged into a thin, needle-like shape and shot forward, cutting through Gaara's sand shield like paper. The sharp scream pierced through Gaara's defence and struck him directly in the chest.
Gaara's eyes widened in shock, but before he could react, Shika was already moving forward. The barrier he erected didn't only stop any chakra from leaking out but also sounds so that Gaara wouldn't scream and make both his siblings make their way down here to save him.
He knew he didn't have much time. Using the sealing technique he had learned from Jiraiya, he pressed his hands against Gaara's body when he was down and his sand was held back by Shika's water and activated the seal. The complex symbols glowed as they locked onto the Biju's chakra inside Gaara, sealing it off and preventing Shukaku from awakening.
The crowd still couldn't see anything through the thick mist. It wasn't until Shika deactivated his Hidden Mist Technique that the arena came back into view. Gaara was kneeling on the ground, clutching his chest, clearly weakened, and Shika stood before him so victorious that they realised that the fight was already over.
"That's…" Kakashi Guy and Lee who saw this can't help but question what they were seeing, even Lee failed against Gaara after opening 5 of the inner gates, but here was Shika who not only won against Gaara but even wounded him. They all could see the blood pouring out of Gaara's shoulder.
Lee can't help but clench his fist at this.
"Lee…" Guy grabs Lee's shoulder trying to say something but no words come to his mouth.
Lee wasn't the only one surprised, there were others, like the Sand team. Who saw this and frowned, already rushing towards Gaara. But maybe not more than Orochimaru who was sitting beside Hiruzen and after seeing that Gaara wasn't transforming into his Biju nor he was healing, he was both stunned and angry.
He quickly made a hand sign and Kabuto and his other men waiting started their plan.
White feathers fell from the sky and a large area of Genjutsu was activated, making the majority of the people fall to sleep.
The stands filled with snoring rather than screaming, making Shika smile, the irony was really there, as enemy shinobi from the Hidden Sound and Hidden Sand villages appeared. Shuriken and kunai flew through the air, and smoke bombs filled the arena. Konoha's forces rushed to defend the village, but the surprise attack caught many off guard.
This wasn't just happening in the Chunin exam stand, the entire village was under attack by Orochmiaru's forces by now. Shika also noticed that Orochimaru also erected a barrier with his sound four to kill Hiruzen Sarutobi.
'Hope that everything goes like the cannon, as long as Hiruzen is dead, it's okay.' Shika hoped, though he knew that his being here would change things, he honestly didn't care but about the changes but Hiruzen should die, and that why he put a clone inside that's barrier even before this all started, to make sure things goes on like the cannon.
Shika immediately snapped into action. He didn't have time to rest after his fight with Gaara. The village was under attack, and he needed to help. As he glanced at Gaara, he saw him struggling to stand, but the sealing technique was still holding back the full power of the Shukaku.
Up in the stands, Shika spotted familiar faces. The other Genin from Konoha were already moving to assist in the battle. Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura were all engaged with enemy shinobi, while Kakashi and the other Jonin were fighting Orochimaru's elite forces.
'Now let's finally get that spy bastard.' Shika had a smirk on his face. He of course was talking about Kabuto.
Orochimaru and Kabuto are the only people who know how to use Edo Tensei, right now he has no way to kill Orochimaru but he can get that bastard Kabuto.
Hell, he in fact might be able to get Orochimaru as well, but that depends on his clone.
After all, if there was one time when Orochimaru has ever come close enough to dying then it was when Hiruzen used the ripper death seal on him.
'Hope the clone can find a way to take both of them out.' he can't help but hope. And then he was gone, ready to find Kabuto and stop the zombie army from ever marching the elemental nation.
Shika's divine dogs already knew Kabuto's scent, so finding him wasn't hard.
"Summoning Jutsu..." Shika said, more like acted and sneakily took out a smoke bomb while biting his finger to draw blood and slam his hand on the ground to act like he used the summoning jutsu to summon his divine dogs.
A buff of smoke happened in the area and two dogs, one black and one white came forward.
"Find him..." Shika only said this and the next second they bolted out to find Kabuto.

At this time, the clone, who was hiding in the shadows up on the rooftop, inside the barrier erected by the sound four, was hiding in his shadows and watching both teacher and student tearing each other part.
They didn't fight too much, only a little to see how strong they were before Orochimaru used the Edo Tensei to bring both of the Senju Brothers.
Clone just remained back, he knew that he couldn't stop anyone with his powers inside this barrier, though he was surprised how Hiruzen Sarutobi looked surprised seeing the Kazekage turned out to be Orochimaru. This means that he was expecting an attack from Orochimaru after Shika found the real plan of Sand by saving Hayate.
Clone can't help was ponder what Hiruzen was thinking.
'Probably that there will be two kage-level shinobi in the fight, Orochimaru and Kazekage, so even if he wanted to take some help from Jiraiya, he couldn't. At best he must have thought that he had to fight Kazekage who was of course weaker than Orochimaru while Jiraiya would handle the snake. That's why Jiraiya is not here beside Hiruzen, he must have been look for Orochimaru to fight.
Tsk, tsk, tsk tsk tsk tsk tsk....' Clone snickered.
This was good for him, this means that the final outcome might not change ultimately.
