Capítulo 252: Interrogate The Girl

Just as Seryu was sobbing uncontrollably, she suddenly sensed something. She lifted her tear-filled eyes to find the silver-haired girl, who had just left, now standing before her again.

This time she was smiling, extending a white handkerchief with her snow-white arm.

"Wipe your face," Kaguya said with a light laugh, "you look like a mess."

Seryu quickly wiped her eyes with her sleeve and turned her head away, full of defiance; she had no intention of showing weakness to the person who was tormenting her.

"If you don't want this," Kaguya said, tucking the handkerchief away and pulling out another item, offering it to her, "then how about this?"

It was something wrapped in paper, with a piece exposed that emitted a pleasing fragrance. It was the Osmanthus cake Kaguya had shown earlier.

The delicate, translucent cake still bore a crescent-shaped bite mark from when Kaguya had tasted it.

Glancing at the Osmanthus cake in Kaguya's hand, Seryu huffed arrogantly, turned away, and appeared unmoved, though secretly she couldn't help swallowing .

"Actually, we've only met a few times, and there isn't any deep hatred between us," Kaguya said thoughtfully as she approached, "so why are you so hostile toward me?"

At this, Seryu suddenly turned around, her eyes blazing with anger, and she said fiercely, "You cruel, ruthless person, you've committed so many heinous crimes—have you forgotten? Even though I've been captured, justice will never yield to evil!"

"What?" Kaguya was puzzled, feeling it was all nonsense.

Cruel, ruthless, heinous crimes—what is this all about?

"I don't think I've done anything bad," Kaguya said, pinching her chin with her fair fingers, confused.

"How hypocritical, still trying to hide your crimes," Seryu said furiously. "In the capital, you murdered Count Atran's family and their guards, and not only that, but you also burned their house to destroy the evidence. Do you dare deny it?"

"Count Atran?" Kaguya paused, not recalling knowing any count.

"Have you committed so many crimes that you've forgotten?" Seryu said indignantly. "The Atran family was kind-hearted, often aiding the poor with clothes and food, and Miss Arya even invited the homeless to be their guests. Such a good family, yet you killed them all!"

Seryu was indignant, puffed up with anger, and even her normally pale face was slightly flushed.

What is all this? A complete mess. Kaguya felt more puzzled—she didn't recognize any of them.

Wait a minute, Arya...

Kaguya seemed to recall something, her mouth twitching, lines of frustration appearing. That psycho girl she had once killed—wasn't she named Arya?

Her family was kind-hearted? Kaguya was speechless. If that twisted family could be called kind-hearted, then there would be no unkind people left in the world.

"You have nothing to say, do you?" Seryu said, raising her head and snorting, "Furthermore, you cruelly murdered over a hundred innocent civilians in the capital. Can you deny it?"

"Murdered innocent civilians?" Kaguya said blankly, "When did I ever kill innocent civilians? I don't recall."

"Are you trying to deny it?" Seryu shouted angrily, "In that tall building full of lanterns in the southwestern corner of the capital."

"Southwestern corner?" Kaguya frowned, pondering for a moment, then remembered. Feeling a bit exasperated, she realized that place was the red-light district, and the building was where drug dealers forced girls into prostitution with drugs.

Those people were innocent civilians? Kaguya nearly laughed aloud. If they were innocent civilians, then even dogs could claim to be human.

"You're speechless, aren't you?" Seryu said angrily, "You're a heinous, unforgivable person. Do you have any humanity left? And Eric, the town mayor—an honest man who loved helping others—yet you killed him for his wealth. You're simply heartless."

Seryu spoke passionately, her inner grievances pouring out, making her feel much better.

But suddenly, she realized something and froze.

Oh no, what have I done?

Seryu regretted it immediately. She wished she could knock some sense into herself; she had actually blurted out all her thoughts and even cursed at that person. That ruthless person—what if she became angry and tortured her again?

Nervously, Seryu glanced at Kaguya and saw her expression dark, her face like a stormy sea before a tempest, sending chills down her spine. Seryu shivered involuntarily.

Kaguya frowned, her pretty face growing solemn, clearly realizing something.

Earlier, Kaguya had regarded Seryu's words as a joke, finding them amusing. After all, the capital was full of spies, and people like Zanku with foresight were bound to discover her identity.

If the first two incidents could be traced, then they were understandable, but the last matter—the execution of Mayor Eric—was peculiar. This happened after Seryu was captured and imprisoned. How could she know about events happening tens or even hundreds of kilometers away while in the dungeon?

Could there be a spy within the territory?

Kaguya's smile vanished, and she stepped lightly, approaching Seryu, her face icy cold, as she asked sternly, "How do you know about Mayor Eric?"

This was the first time Seryu had seen Kaguya show such a terrifying expression. Her eyes, like autumn water, radiated a chilling coldness, and her beautiful face was dark and intimidating, a stark contrast to her earlier warmth.

"Wha-what do you mean?" Seryu's heart raced, and she turned her head awkwardly, "I don't know what you're talking about."

"How did you, from inside the dungeon, learn about events outside?" Kaguya's gaze grew colder, like the moonlight casting a bone-chilling frost.

Kaguya furrowed her brow and slowly paced toward Seryu. With each step, the aura around her intensified, and by the time she reached Seryu, the overwhelming and frigid presence left Seryu pale with fear.
