Capítulo 3: The Eye of Hypnosis

**K-408**

Fitoa Region, Buena Village

**Kian's Point of View**

A few months later

I was sitting against a tree in front of my house, enjoying the morning breeze while pondering my next goal.

I had already copied almost all of my father's blacksmithing skills and was now thinking about what to learn next. This thirst for knowledge and desire to learn new things is intense; I can't tell if it's from this life or if it just got stronger than it was before. Even so, every time I learn or create something new, I feel immense happiness. So much so that, after a while, I made it my goal in this world to discover all types of magic that exist.

But for now, I have to be content with the knowledge this village has to offer.

I think about these random things while filling the tree I'm leaning against with mana. I do this because my automatic healing can't drain all my mana. Looking for ways to efficiently deplete my mana, I discovered that this tree in front of the house has a good absorption and retention rate of mana, although it quickly disperses into the air through the branches and leaves and into the ground through the roots.

Even so, the tree manages to retain a small amount permanently, which has been growing because every day I use it to drain my capacity. Now, I can even say it's a magical tree.

I have no idea how much mana I have anymore; no one in this village has a fraction of the amount I possess.

When I finish draining almost all my mana, I get up and walk home, passing through the front door and going to my room, where I collapse on the bed.

**The next day**

"Dad, are there swordsmen like in the stories Mom tells in our village?" Kian, who was at the dinner table watching his mother prepare breakfast, turned toward Owen, who was sitting on a slightly worn wooden chair, and asked.

"Hmm, not exactly, son. The closest would probably be Mr. Paul, who is the designated knight of Buena village," Owen replied after a brief contemplation. "And why do you suddenly want to know this? Aren't you already learning from your incredible dad to be a great blacksmith?" He continued, speaking with his chin up and arms crossed, trying to convey a sense of arrogance.

I rolled my eyes and turned to my mother, ignoring my father. "Mom, when are we going to the village clinic?"

"In a bit, honey," she paused what she was doing for a moment and turned to answer me.

She had promised to take me along when she went today to talk to Zenith because she said she wasn't feeling well these days. Since I was very curious about the clinic and wanted to see if I had the chance to copy another spell, I asked to go along.

So, after breakfast, I was walking with her towards the clinic. After some time, we finally saw a wooden cabin in the distance.

As we approached, we came face to face with Zenith and another woman who were already inside taking care of an injured man.

When I looked at the man, I could see he had some cuts and bruises on his legs. I don't know how he got here with those injuries, but I can deduce he must have fallen from a certain height into a pit in the forest or from a slope on the hill around the village.

As we entered, Zenith was already finishing the chants of the intermediate-level spell [X-Healing], from what I heard her pronounce. Then, her hands glowed a beautiful green, and the man's wounds disappeared.

Luckily, I managed to see her mana flow while she activated the spell, so I managed to copy it. One of my goals was already achieved; now only the other one remains.

Seeing how the man's body regenerated, I was intrigued by the wonders that healing spells can perform. With a spark of curiosity, I injected the maximum amount of mana I could, considering my maximum mana release rate per second. After reaching the limit, I managed to see something I thought I wouldn't see anymore in this world: a human cell regenerating and multiplying with the effect of the healing.

I was happy with this because I could finally study how mana affects the body at a cellular level.

I was so fascinated by the sight that I forgot there were other people around me. I only realized it when my mother touched my shoulder and invited me to greet the three people in front of us.

"Hi, I'm Kian," I introduced myself to them after snapping out of my reverie. I greeted all three, including Zenith, because technically I shouldn't remember anything that happened when I was a few months old.

"Ohhh! What a polite little boy. You may not remember me, but I visited you when you were just a baby," Zenith replied with a smile, while the other woman also gave me an appreciative smile.

"I know, my Kian is a genius. He can already speak long sentences fluently," my mother boasted about me happily. "Too bad we can't send him to a school or find a tutor for him. I'm sure he could learn to read, write, and do math quickly," she said, sighing at the end.

"But that's not why I came. I wanted to know if you could help me because I've been feeling unwell for over a week," said Emma as she approached the other bed in the clinic and sat down.

"Of course, I can. Let me see what you have," said Zenith as she approached her, placing a hand on her head and beginning to chant a spell.

I fixed my eyes and started spinning, analyzing, and copying the spell. At the end of the chant, I managed to hear the spell's name, which was [Detoxification]. Apparently, it cures minor illnesses in the human body.

Hmm? From Zenith's expression, she discovered something. So there's a body analysis in the spell as well, interesting.

"How can I tell you this?" said Zenith with a bit of uncertainty in her voice.

"Just say it already," said my mother, thinking she had an illness.

"You're pregnant," said Zenith after a few seconds of silence.

From my mother's expression, it looked like her brain fried with the information. But a brother or sister, huh? Sounds quite interesting, since I didn't have siblings in my previous life.

While my mother recovered from the news and talked with Zenith, I approached the man who was already getting up from the bed and preparing to leave. I wanted to see if I could accomplish my second goal.

"Sir, could you help me?" I asked him in a low volume, so they couldn't hear us, while looking into his eyes.

The moment he looked into my eyes, I sent mana to them with the intention of using an ability I hadn't had the chance to use because I didn't want to test it on my parents.

Then, I felt a momentary mana connection between us and projected my will into that connection for him to say yes.

"Sure, how can I help, little boy?" he said.

Looks like the initial test worked. When he saw me approaching, he probably intended to ignore me or treat me rudely because of the rumors. Let's see how far I can influence him.

"I wanted to know if you could lend me a copper coin?" I asked right after, continuing to look into his eyes and projecting my intention through that connection for him to agree. When I finished speaking and projecting my intention, I felt resistance in the connection, as if what I wanted conflicted with his will. After a moment, when I saw the connection was about to break, I injected more mana, strengthening the connection.

"Just one? And when do you think you'll return it to me?" He responded after a two-second delay.

Great, it worked. It seems that, depending on the person's will and the amount of mana and resistance they have to what I'm suggesting with hypnosis, the difficulty of hypnosis increases.

"Yeah, just one. I think I can return it to you next month," I said, placing my hands on my chin with a thoughtful look.

"Alright then. Here you go," he said as he reached into a bag inside his clothes and took out a copper coin, handing it to me.

"Now I have to go, don't forget to pay me back," he said, getting up from the bed to leave the clinic. As he left, he waved goodbye and thanked the two women who helped him before leaving.

"Incredible," I murmured as I looked at the coin in my hand. I just convinced someone to lend me money in a few sentences, and considering he probably doesn't trust me much since I'm three years old and most people in the village avoid me because of the rumors.

I see my mother waving for us to leave; it seems she has recovered from the news and finished talking with Zenith.

So, I walk over to them. "Goodbye, Miss Zenith," I say as I approach my mother. It looks like the other woman went to do something else.

"Goodbye, Kian. Congratulations on your new little brother," Zenith says with a smile to me.

I just wave to her and follow my mother out.

On the way home, I'm thinking about how I could use my new ability to get the most benefit.

The first thing I need to focus on is finding a way to get books and learn to read and write.

Now I just need to think of who would be the most promising candidate for this. Preferably, someone with access to books, who knows how to read and write, and who also has little mana to have the least resistance to hypnosis.

I think I have the right person in mind: Mr. Peter. From what I remember, he sells Vatirus flowers in the city of Roa, which is the capital of the Fitoa region. He should meet all my requirements. I just need to approach him now, but I think it's best to leave that for tomorrow.
