Hisoka was amused by the angry red head. She knew that there wasn't any deck of cards on her body when she pulled it out.
It was just there she didn't get it from anywhere inside her body.
The cold beauty beside her was also thinking the same as her.
Illuka too could tell that the deck of cards just appeared there as if it was materialized in thin air.
The two perceptions were very strong. They could perceive everything around themself as if they were a scanner.
Hisoka was fascinating about her ability but not as much as the young man. She could tell that he was very strong. Stronger than what he let on.
His muscles. His scent. His bearing. Everything was just a ruse to make the enemy underestimate him. when there was a weakness he would plunge on it.
'How curious…'
She will continue to observe him. He might be what she needed to sate her hunger.
As for the angry red head. She was now also observing the beautiful jester and her companion.
Hermione knew that she shouldn't do that in front of Hisoka. But even then she would not stand down and let her near Sullivan.
Showing Hisoka a little bit of her ability might make her interested in her instead. Even if it wasn't enough it served to make her think twice before she decided to do something.
Hermione looked at Sullivan. He was talking to Gon, Leorio, Kurari and Killua.
He was having fun with them. She couldn't help but smile. She would protect his innocence no matter what.
Thinking about his innocence, her face darkens. The fire chicken, she couldn't help it, the dark thoughts resurface.
'Bad Hermione, What the hell are you thinking!'
Hermione sighed. She shook her head before joining the group.
Satotz now had led them to the second phase exam. Everyone was now standing in front of a building like a house.
Along the way they met with many incidents but every time something bad was about to happen. Sullivan would always be there to solve it or point it.
So there's not many deaths.
A pink-haired woman with a very big guy waiting for them in front of the building. They swept their gaze around.
"There's more participants than I thought."
The pink-haired woman fortunately wasn't Sakura but Menchi, the one-star gourmet hunter. As for the big guy, his name was Buhara and he was a gourmet hunter too.
She looked at all the participants and didn't think that there would be many participants surviving the misty forest. She could only shake her head. Maybe Satotz was too soft to be an examiner.
Menchi now that she was sure that everyone who passed the first phase was here. She then introduced herself and Buhara as a gourmet hunter.
And after she finished introducing herself and her partner. The participants started to laugh at her which made her feel very angry.
But as an examiner she needed to be professional. She ignored their laughter before calling for Buhara.
Buhara stood up before telling them to hunt a pig to make food for him.
He then signaled everyone to start looking for the pig.
Everyone even though wasn't sure if this was really the hunter exam but they didn't want to risk it. They started running to find the pig.
Sullivan and his group did not make a move at all.
Menchi and Buhara were surprised why the hell they didn't run like anyone else.
"You all, why don't you run and find the pig. Do you want to be disqualified?"
Sullivan tilted his head a little.
"Why should we need to look for the pig when someone will send it to us and to tell you the truth other than cup noodles. Everything I made became a biological weapon. Do you really want to eat it."
"..."
Menchi was flabbergasted. She didn't expect this kind of answer.
Buhara didn't tell them that they couldn't steal the pig from other participants. and to admit he didn't know how to cook and was bad at it.
'What the hell with this kid.'
"Ne Ne. Gourmet hunter-san what is it that you truly desire. I will make it come true but you need to teach us how to cook. and before you say something about cheating. This is the hunter exam you know."
Menchi blinked and she opened her mouth but the word won't come out. She didn't know what to say about his logic.
'It does make sense somehow. Why I felt something wrong here…'
