Haki is a mysterious power divided into three primary types: Observation, Armament, and Conqueror's Haki.
Observation Haki:
Observation Haki grants the user a heightened awareness of the world around them. It allows the user to:
Sense the presence, strength, and emotions of other people, even if they are hidden or far away.
Predict their opponent's actions and attacks by sensing their intentions, granting limited precognitive abilities.
An advanced level of Observation:
Haki enables the user to foresee brief glimpses into the future, offering a tactical advantage during combat.
Armament Haki:
Armament Haki allows the user to manifest their aura as a protective armor, enhancing both offense and defense. Key features include:
Strengthening attacks to make them more potent.
Bypassing Devil Fruit defenses, such as a Logia user's intangibility.
Coating parts of the body, the entire body, or weapons with Armament Haki, causing them to turn a shiny black. A thick, powerful coating often displays a flame-like pattern at the edges.
Advanced Armament Haki offers two additional capabilities:
Emission: The ability to project Armament Haki over a short distance without physical contact.
Internal Destruction: The ability to channel Haki into a target's body, destroying it from the inside out.
Conqueror's Haki
Conqueror's Haki is a rare and innate ability possessed by only one in several million people. It allows the user to impose their willpower upon others, resulting in:
Weak-willed opponents being overwhelmed and losing consciousness.
Physical pressure capable of damaging objects and even the environment. A clash between two powerful Conqueror's Haki users can "split the heavens."
Advanced Conqueror's Haki grants the user two further powers:
Infusion: The ability to imbue weapons and physical attacks with Conqueror's Haki, greatly enhancing their power.
Aura Manipulation: The ability to suppress one's presence, negating an opponent's ability to sense them with Observation Haki.
Additional Properties of Haki:
Nullification of Devil Fruit Powers
Haki can neutralize or counteract the abilities of Devil Fruit users. This requires an exceptionally strong level of Haki, as demonstrated only by individuals with bounties exceeding 1,000,000,000 Beli.
Haki Depletion:
A person's Haki is not limitless. Overuse can deplete their reserves, temporarily rendering them unable to use it until it regenerates.
Spiritual Origin:
Haki originates from an individual's spirit, not their physical body. Even if a person's mind is transferred into another body, they retain their original Haki capabilities, regardless of whether the new body previously had Haki.
Training and Proficiency:
Most Haki users tend to excel in one specific type, dedicating most of their training and fighting style to that strength. However, it is possible to improve proficiency in all three types through rigorous effort and practice.
Each type of Haki has varying levels of mastery, meaning two users with the same type might still differ significantly in strength. Additionally, skilled individuals can use at least two types of Haki simultaneously, further increasing their combat potential.
