Capítulo 13: Chapter 13: The Eliminated Class

At this moment, in Leon's classroom.

The students responsible for watching the live feed finally sensed that something was wrong.

In the dim live stream, Leon turned over in his sleep, causing the blanket covering him to slip off. The blanket behind him began to bulge as if something was moving inside it.

"Strange, why is Leon's blanket puffing up?"

"Is the dog moving?"

"No, the dog isn't that big. Something must be happening!"

Panic spread among the classmates. Their class had already used their free communication opportunity at the beginning of the game.

Not long ago, Mr. Black Goat had mentioned that if they wanted to communicate again, someone would have to make a sacrifice.

Seeing that Leon's situation had been relatively smooth, they hadn't paid much attention to the warning.

As a result, they hadn't pre-discussed who would sacrifice themselves to convey information to the player in an emergency.

Now, in this critical moment, no one could decide on a course of action.

"Why is Leon still sleeping so soundly? Don't just stand there, wake him up!"

"Someone make a sacrifice quickly, we can revive them after clearing the level!"

"It's too late, I think!"

"Forget it, each player has three revival chances anyway..."

At that moment, a blood-curdling scream came through the live feed.

"Aaaahhh—help!"

In Player 3, Leon's live stream, the pristine white sheets were instantly soaked with blood. Leon clutched at the gash in his abdomen, screaming in agony as he crawled towards the door.

In the dim live feed.

A Werwolf-like creature stood on the bed, its eyes glowing a menacing red.

"Growl! Snarl!"

It roared in fury and pounced on Leon, furiously tearing into him once more.

The entire examination room fell silent.

All the students stared gravely at the electronic whiteboard, where Player 2eon's live stream had turned into a horrific murder scene.

Though the details were hard to discern in the dark stream, the sounds were unmistakable.

The chilling noise of flesh being torn, bones snapping intermittently, accompanied by Leon's agonized screams, echoed through the classrooms of several classes.

...

Meanwhile, back in Jon's classroom, the students began to worry.

"My god, what's happening?"

"How did the dog turn into a Werwolf?"

"What should we do? Should we warn Jon? He doesn't seem to have noticed..."

"Class President, should we send Jon the information we've gathered and warn him?"

The classmates looked at Hanson, who also wore a grave expression as he watched the sleeping Jon, contemplating whether to deliver the intel.

Everyone had misjudged, the dog wasn't safe.

After a moment of thought, Hanson finally spoke, "The dog didn't transform for no reason..."

"Honestly, Player 3's actions were quite reckless. Not only did he fail to make proper dog food, but he also broke the rules by feeding it dog kibble."

"From this, we can deduce that Jon is not in any danger because he strictly adhered to the rules."

Everyone suddenly realized the truth after listening to Hanson's explanation.

Indeed, Player 3 and Jon served as a perfect comparison.

One broke the rules while the other followed them. Since Leon, who broke the rules, encountered disaster, it indicated that Jon, who followed them, should be safe.

It seemed Jon's reasoning was correct.

Grandma's rules regarding the dog were written without any cognitive contamination from "it."

On the podium, the live feed of Player 3, Leon, had disappeared.

Faced with the rampaging Werwolf, he had almost no ability to resist. After dying and reviving three times, he finally met his ultimate end.

The next second, the broadcast announcement echoed through all the classrooms on campus.

"Examination Hall 42, Player #3 Leon has failed the challenge."

"First-Year Biomedical Class A... the punishment begins."

A new live feed appeared on the electronic whiteboards in all the school's classrooms.

It showed the First-Year Biomedical Class A's classroom.

Black Goat slowly stood up and stepped lightly onto the podium.

The classroom was already in chaos. Students were shouting and blaming each other, with some even starting to fight.

Others huddled under their desks, hoping to escape the impending doom.

Every person in the classroom was enveloped in an atmosphere of terror and despair, waiting for death to claim them.

"Goodbye, students." Black Goat raised his hand and snapped his fingers crisply.

The lights in the classroom went out.

Instantly, the screams of dozens of students merged into a horrific symphony, akin to the wails of tormented souls in hell, piercing the hearts of those watching.

A few seconds later, the classroom lights flickered back on.

All the students in Biomedical Class A had vanished without a trace.

A thick layer of blood had pooled on the classroom floor.

Some keen-eyed individuals noticed that blood was continuously seeping out from the cracks of the storage cabinet at the back of the room, where cleaning supplies were kept.

They hadn't disappeared, they had been stuffed inside.

"Click!"

The cabinet door was flung open by an invisible force, revealing a tightly packed mass of red flesh. The thirty-some students of the Biomedical Class A had been compressed like canned luncheon meat and stuffed into the cabinet.

No one knew how they had been forced inside...

But to Black Goat, it might have been as simple as the old joke about fitting an elephant into a refrigerator.

Just two easy steps—step one, open the cabinet, step two, put everyone inside.

To a creature like Black Goat, humans were merely toys.

...

In Examination Hall 42, within Player 1 Jon's instance.

The cabin was calm and peaceful, with the fireplace flames flickering gently.

As the sound of the howling wind and snow outside filled the air, Jon turned over and pulled the blanket tighter, still lost in a sweet dream.

Outside, the blizzard intensified, with gusts of wind hurling large snowflakes to the ground.

From a nearby hill, the ranger's lookout beacon cast a searchlight.

The white beam sliced through the dark night, sweeping back and forth as if searching for something in the darkness.

Periodically, this beam of light would pass over the cabin where Jon lay.

Two and a half hours later.

As the light swept over the cabin for the sixty-fifth time—

A dark silhouette appeared on the curtains of Jon's second-floor bedroom.

It seemed like a humanoid figure was standing motionless outside Jon's window, as if waiting for something.

The flames in the cabin's fireplace had completely gone out.

The residual warmth of the fire was swiftly devoured by the cold. The little dog, sleeping by the fireplace, began to shiver slightly as it felt the chill.

It opened its eyes and shakily stood up.

The dog wandered around the living room for a few steps before suddenly lowering its head and starting to vomit.

"Cough, cough! Cough, cough—"

A thick, yellowish-brown foam was expelled from its stomach.

The dog abruptly lifted its head, as if it had seen something nonexistent in the darkness, and turned to flee.

But in the next second, it seemed to be controlled by something, its eyes beginning to glow red.

With a clear target in mind, the dog walked out of the living room.

It climbed the stairs to the second floor and quickly reached the outside of Jon's bedroom, only to be blocked by something at the door.

Jon knew the rules, so he hadn't closed the door before going to sleep.

Moreover, Jon had deduced that "it" might control the dog to absorb the player's Psyche through its Gaze.

Therefore, he neither closed the door nor let the dog come in, but instead prepared some obstacles.

Before going to sleep, Jon had already toppled a wooden table to block the doorway.

This way, the dog couldn't come in and also couldn't directly see Jon on the bed.

The dog gazed at the wooden table blocking its path, then turned and left.

It ran back to the first floor, jumped onto the sofa, grabbed the blanket there, and dragged it to the fireplace.

Surprisingly, the dog started to dig at the fire pit with its front paws.

Beneath the fire pit, there were still some partially charred logs that hadn't completely burned out and were still smoldering.

As the dog dug, a multitude of sparks flew onto the woolen blanket.

Soon, the blanket on the floor began to smoke, and small flames rapidly spread, starting to burn.
