The Goltbred heiress made a happy humming sound while finishing the last bite of spiced curry buns. Qat was aware of her fondness for stronger flavors and brought back a half dozen of the hearty pastries filled with seasoned meat and vegetables.
She ate two herself as promised… so that the obstinate girl would eat the other four.

I swear I didn't forget the windchime after making it into such a 'cute tragic backstory'. Tragi-cute? If that's not a thing, someone should coin it.
I just... really didn't ever find a good moment to have it show up with any impact. Now it's just been so long and she has been to the little house more than once since... so I finally got tired of waiting and shoehorned it into the start!

Also, I know where the Skydancer is. I swear! I *absolutely* didn't just forget to write it in on the first train back chapter and then felt awkward to bring it up all this time.
