The train station at mid-morning was full of raucous activity as passengers rushed to board the second departure toward the coastal venue. Four figures stood out in that chaos - two adults and two teenagers. Their contrasting clothing styles and demeanors might have hinted they were complete strangers to each other, if not for their constant close proximity.
Nohre fidgeted with the strap of her bag while casting furtive glances at the distinguished couple beside them. On the other hand, her sandy haired 'friend' practically vibrated with barely contained excitement. It made her hiss a warning under her breath.
"Remember, Mas-... Elua said to be at your best. Don't-"
"I know, I know, but can you believe we're traveling with actual high standing members of a Guild?"
Next chapter! AHH!
Why would I give you this stupid side-plot, backstory, Voidling foreshadow nonsense when they could be SEALING THEIR VOWS?!
Maybe because I really liked the number 88 for the chapter it happens in. Two upright infinities, standing side by side. It's romantic, okay!?
As an actual comment on the chapter you just read... the main thing I can think about is the tricky pedantic nature of continuing to call Nohre an orphan if it was that her remaining family that just left her at the place.
She still grew up at an orphanage a tiny toddler, but I guess that *technically* makes her not one if whoever left her is still alive!
