Capítulo 6: (6/6)

Since this is the final chapter of the prologue, I'll leave the question here.

Is there any suggestion for a world Sinbad should visit as his first world?

----- -----

Sinbad and Steve sat silently on the living room couch.

In front of them, a floating screen, slightly cracked and trembling, hovered quietly, shaking under Steve's cold stare.

"What do we do with this?" Steve asked Sinbad, his expression softer and tone gentler when addressing his son.

This change left the System trembling incredulously: could this aberration act like this?!

"Why don't we listen in more detail to what this Window has to say? Since the Window isn't a threat, we might as well take advantage of the situation," Sinbad replied after careful consideration.

Steve furrowed his brow for a moment, pondering something before nodding in agreement with his son's idea.

"Speak, Window," Steve commanded simply.

The System quickly understood what Steve wanted to know, having overheard their brief conversation.

[Kohom] The window made a fake cough, preparing to give a long, detailed explanation that could potentially save its life.

[I am what people usually call the 'System'. I am something quite special, loved and hated by many across the Multiverse, serving to fortify chosen or lucky individuals, allowing them to traverse the Vast Multiverse through parallel timelines of countless Stories.]

[For the record: the Multiverse is a vast place that opens up infinite universes, which house galaxies that ultimately contain worlds: places like this one, where you live. And timelines are related to time, obviously. They are alternate versions of events generated after different choices. For example: If it were you, Steve, who touched the Dragon Egg instead of Sinbad, the System wouldn't have appeared because you are already very strong, and that would be considered a different timeline.]

"Hmm," Sinbad made a thoughtful noise while Steve silently stared at the System, making the System start to get nervous.

"This window is terrible at explaining things, huh?" That was the only thing Sinbad said, causing Steve to nod in agreement.

"But I get what you mean. In a nutshell, Dad: It's meant to explore even more distant and amazing places," Sinbad smiled as he summarized it ideally for Steve, who finally understood.

"So that's how it is," Steve murmured.

"About Rewards and Penalties, why do they exist and why did you threaten me like that?" Sinbad asked curiously.

[The System serves to strengthen its User, hence Reward and Penalty. Through the use of Equivalent Exchange using the Multiverse as a catalyst, the System applies two conditions.]

[For example: 'If Action X is completed, Reward Y will be provided to the User. If Action X fails, Penalty Z will be imposed on the User.]

[In this way, we ensure a constant flow of equitable fortification using this unique Exchange System of ours, Systems. After all, we are the only ones capable of negotiating with the Multiverse itself.]

[Since it's an equivalent exchange, Rewards and Penalties will be according to the grandeur of the Action and ultimately, the User's Luck. A gigantic roulette of Reward and Penalty exists for each equivalent exchange, where hundreds of fair options are placed for the appropriate situations, and thus, the ideal reward and penalty according to the User's luck will be selected.]

[Overall, it's a perfectly fair and equitable System that benefits all three parties: the User, the System, and the Multiverse.]

The Window did its best to explain, realizing it had been too vague before.

Steve stared at the Window with a serious look as if he understood everything, but Sinbad knew his father was completely lost.

"I understand... so, nothing dangerous. It's like going Mining, killing some zombies, and getting iron to then make accessories with it," Sinbad made a sudden strange analogy that confused the System, but it let a glimmer of recognition pass in Steve's eyes, who seemed to have grasped how it worked now.

"Dad," Sinbad looked at Steve, who already knew what Sinbad wanted to say.

"You can," Steve nodded in acknowledgment.

"I still have a lot to do here, but I'm sure you'll come back from time to time. You've learned everything you could here, and you're much freer than I am, which obviously means you won't be content to stay in this stagnant world."

"I was even wondering how long it would take for you to go to the Moon," Steve replied simply, understanding his son's intentions well. He saw no problem with that.

It would be lonelier without him, but he knew that the opportunity would come sooner or later, and it's not like he would never see his son again, at least from what he understood.

"Hm!" Sinbad nodded emotionally, happy that his father agreed with his idea.

"So, little System!" Sinbad turned his gaze to the cracked Window, which seemed surprised.

"Join me! Take me to adventure and explore other places! I just need to come back here from time to time to talk to my Dad and help him with some things, but otherwise: it's perfect," Sinbad basically ordered the System, which seemed relieved to see that it could continue with its purpose and would survive.

[As you wish, User. You and I are now Together until the End, during this Vast journey. You can come back here whenever you want.]

The Window spoke this last part before disappearing, entering Sinbad's chest. Sinbad raised an eyebrow in surprise while Steve shook his head and stood up.

"Get up," Steve said in a serious voice as Sinbad also stood up.

The taller man opened his arms before Sinbad embraced him tightly; this separation would be difficult for both parties but not eternal, they would still see each other. And they would get used to it.

This last hug was just the Beginning of a great Journey.

----- -----

Well, now I just have to decide the world where Sinbad will go.

Steve will still appear several times in the future, but at the right moments. I don't want Steve's presence to make the sense of 'danger' disappear from the story.

And since I don't want to make Steve weaker, I've thought of good situations for a satisfying plot to unfold. At least in my mind, it's satisfying.

I'm open to suggestions.

Sinbad will still have his Djinn equipment, but he'll also be fundamentally different from the Sinbad in Magi. He'll maintain the essence that made many readers and viewers like his character in magi, but there will also be new things that may or may not be good.

Since this is a fanfic, I'll obviously add new things for Sinbad's character, as well as for the storylines of the worlds he'll visit. And honestly? I'm excited just imagining Sinbad's interaction with certain characters who easily annoy Webnovel readers with a simple mention.

:)
