A few months before the All Valley Tournament, I found myself at home, eating cereal and watching TV, battling a nasty flu that kept me out of school. Meanwhile, Kyler, noticing my absence, began to bully Miguel's friend group.
"Oh, now that you don't have your big strong protector, what are you going to do?" Kyler taunted.
Miguel stood up defiantly. "You're a weak bully, waiting for the absence of Jack to play top dog."
Kyler's face twisted in fury. "What did you just call me?"
"A weak bully," Miguel replied, standing his ground.
Just then, Sam stepped in between them. "That's enough!" she said firmly.
Kyler, gritting his teeth, pushed her aside. That was the last straw for Miguel. In a flash, he punched Kyler in the face, sending him crashing to the ground. The other three bullies readied themselves to retaliate, but Sam rushed forward, kicking one in the face and sweeping the legs of the other two.
Kyler scrambled back to his feet and lunged at Miguel, lifting him up and throwing him onto a nearby table. He locked Miguel in a head choke, but Miguel fought back, elbowing Kyler's ribs to escape. He followed up with a punch to Kyler's head and a swift kick to his back, sending him crashing into another table.
"No mercy!" a girl shouted from the crowd, her voice echoing through the chaos.
Miguel turned to assist Sam, who was holding off the remaining bullies. He landed a punch on the fat bully, causing him to stumble back. With the fat one out of the way, Sam managed to restrain the other two. But Kyler and the fat bully weren't done yet. They charged at Miguel, who rolled onto a table, grabbing a nearby food tray.
With a swift motion, he hit Kyler in the head with the tray and leaped up, delivering a powerful kick to the fat bully's head. Kyler, now back on his feet, charged again, but Miguel was ready. He jumped onto a table, kicked Kyler in the chest, and then struck him with the tray, knocking him out cold.
The surrounding kids cheered and recorded the fight on their phones, excitement buzzing in the air. Sam looked impressed by Miguel's fighting skills and approached him. "Let's get away from here," she suggested.
Miguel nodded, and they ran off with Eli and Demetri. As they fled, Demetri voiced his concern. "They will try to attack us again."
"Don't worry," Sam reassured him. "If anything happens, just ask Jack or me, and we'll help you deal with them."
The boys nodded in agreement, relieved as they escaped the fray. Later that evening, Sam called me to explain what had happened. "Did they hurt you?" I asked, concern creeping into my voice.
"No, no! I dealt with them easily," she replied, her tone light.
I sighed, "He's gone too far. I'll deal with him when I return." I continued, "In other news, Mom said I'll be well by next Monday, so we can continue our training."
She smiled, and we chatted for hours, enjoying each other's company.
A week later, I was back in training, working on the wheel technique with Robby. Since we were roughly the same weight, it was much easier than when I practiced with Sam. We mirrored each other's movements flawlessly until we turned our backs and lost our balance. Robby fell in, but I managed to front flip and land perfectly.
"That's enough. Let's do some sparring," Daniel announced.
Robby climbed out of the pond, and we took our positions. "Fight!" Daniel commanded. Robby rushed at me, attempting a punch, but I caught his hand and countered with a punch to his inner arm just below the bicep.
We broke apart, and Robby felt his arm grow heavy, struggling to move it. I pressed forward, and when he tried to punch me again, I ducked and swept his legs, sending him crashing to the ground. I got over him, and he closed his eyes in fear. I flicked his forehead, leaving a red mark.
"Ah, that hurt!" Robby exclaimed.
"Point!" Daniel called, and we both got up. Robby's arm was still stiff, but we continued. Daniel said, "Fight!" and I moved with lightning speed, seeming like a blonde flash. I aimed a punch at Robby's face, but he couldn't react in time. He closed his eyes, bracing for impact, but I stopped short and tapped his nose instead.
"You get scared too easily," I teased, and before he could respond, I kneed him in the stomach, making him fold in half.
"Point!" Daniel announced.
We resumed our positions, and Robby complained, "This isn't fair! I'm just getting beat up!"
"Fight!" Daniel ordered again. This time, Robby took the initiative, aiming for a head punch. I dodged to the side, caught his arm, and flipped him over my shoulder. He landed on his backside, and I followed up with a kick to his back, sending him rolling forward.
He quickly got up and charged at me with a punch aimed at my stomach. I waited for the perfect moment, front flipped over him, and landed a kick to his back, planting him firmly in the ground.
"Point, winner: Jack," Daniel declared.
I walked back and offered Robby a hand, helping him up. "You're getting better every day. You'll be able to beat me in a hundred years," I joked.
Robby playfully punched my shoulder, feigning anger.
Although Robby and Miguel were incredibly talented, I knew I was on a level never seen before. At just 15, I was one of the strongest fighters in Cobra Kai. The only ones who could challenge me were Johnny, Daniel, Terry, Chosen, and maybe Sensei Kim. The only skills I hadn't mastered yet were pressure points and the Cobra Kai fighting style. Once I learned those, I would be unbeatable. Nothing could stand in my way.
From now on there are going to be more fights in every chapter, hope you like it. Have some idea about my story? Comment it and let me know.
