Capítulo 4: Chapter 4: The Donners

Dipper's POV

"Finally, I've finished them," I say, unable to hide my satisfaction as I look at the two strange pistols in my hands.

They were two revolver-shaped machines capable of shrinking or enlarging anything touched by their beam.

Their operation is simple: the longer you're exposed to their light beam, the faster you shrink or grow.

Of course, that's the first mode. The second mode allows this machine to fire two types of laser beams.

One is an ordinary laser, and the second is a laser modified by the crystal in the machine, allowing it to abruptly enlarge or shrink the area touched to a great extent.

Creating such a machine wasn't really complicated for me. Vegapunk studied Borsalino's fruit and was able to create weapons with similar effects.

The crystal I harvested can shrink or enlarge almost anything touched by its light. I just had to integrate it into similar weapons found in the Pacifista robot from the One Piece world.

The hardest part was just shrinking them enough so I could easily carry them on me anywhere.

"Now, I can defend myself. Your name will be 'Donner'," I say with a smile. The name was taken from the weapon used by Nagumo Hajime.

This is similar to Donar, another name for Thor. I wanted to reference lightning since my opponents will only see a flash of light before they're done for.

Looking outside, it seems to be getting late.

"I better go eat with the others."

I couldn't help but sigh slightly, but I still had to hang out with the original Dipper's close ones. I don't want them to notice that I'm acting too differently.

"So, you've been locked up in your room?" Mabel asks, frowning slightly.

I did hear Mabel knock on the door when I was creating the two "Donners", but I couldn't stop as I was at an important moment in their creation.

So, I just ignored her temporarily since I was going to leave my room sooner or later anyway, and I doubt it was very important.

"Yeah, I was tired from yesterday."

I could only deflect blame since I didn't want to tell her about the two "Donners" for now. It could end up like in the original story.

I don't want to end up ant-sized because my sister stole my equipment for selfish reasons.

"Oh yeah, Norman," she says, embarrassed. It seems this will become a sensitive topic between us.

"Are you going to stand there? We need to eat, remember?" I say with a smile before passing her to join Stan.

Dinner was quiet, and as usual, the food was terrible, but I still had a smile on my lips since I had made progress towards my goal.

...

"Do we really have to go with you?" I ask with a sigh.

"It's family fun day, it would be nice if we spent some time together," Stan declares while driving the car.

I wasn't really at ease in the car at the moment. I know Uncle Stan isn't really a responsible person, so the idea of spending time with him is risky, and on top of that, he has serious vision problems.

I'm not in a cartoon anymore; I could technically die stupidly if his vision problems worsen, especially since it will affect his driving.

"I understand you want us to spend time together, but we could have played something at home or gone shopping," Mabel declares, unsatisfied.

We currently both had our eyes blindfolded; Uncle Stan wanted our fun destination to be a surprise.

"Wait until you see what I've planned, you'll change your minds," he says with a smile.

I think I know where we're going anyway. It seems it will soon be time to use "Donner", but I haven't really created anything incredible besides a few stun grenades and flash grenades.

I had created both types of grenades to allow me to escape quickly if the situation was dangerous, but also to give me enough time to use "Donner".

Of course, I could have created something more powerful, but I didn't really have private time to obtain materials for manufacturing.

"I really hope we can have fun," Mabel mutters next to me.

"I just hope we don't do anything too illegal," I reply. I still remember that recently, Uncle Stan dragged me along to steal an ATM.

Actually, doing illegal things doesn't bother me, but the problem is that Stan acts without a good plan, and we almost ended up at the police station.

"We're here, kids. Welcome to Gravity Falls Lake," he says after removing the thing he used to cover our eyes.

Stan began to explain the reason for the enormous number of people at the lake and why we came.

It seems that despite my intervention in the timeline, old Stan still wants to spend time with his great-niece and nephew.

I wonder if Soos will come to the lake too. I haven't seen Mr. McGucket; it seems the timeline is changing slowly but surely.

In the end, we went to the lake without Soos, and as I thought, it's pretty boring.

"I have an idea, what if we borrow some fish?" Stan says after we've spent a few hours on the lake without catching anything.

"I don't think that's a good idea, but I'm with you," Mabel declares excitedly.

"If the majority agrees," I say, shrugging my shoulders. Anyway, they're not going to listen to me.

After my words, we navigated right next to a person who had just caught a fish.

"Sorry, big guy, but welcome to USA , and if you're not happy, go back to Mexico, haha!" Stan declares, laughing at his own joke.

The man, accompanied by his girlfriend, was initially shocked; he had just been robbed by an old man accompanied by children.

He quickly recovered from the shock before contacting the guards who, surprisingly, were quick to intervene.

In the end, we had to flee to a randomly chosen island in the lake to avoid having to pay fines or being banned from the lake.

...

"I knew we couldn't have a peaceful moment," I say once we arrive in the forest.

"What are you talking about? Didn't you have fun out there?" Stan asks, clearly confused.

"Yes, Dipper, it was fun," Mabel replies. It seems she enjoyed the chase with the guards.

"Listen, kids, these islands in the wild can be dangerous," Stan explains, taking on a serious expression.

Unfortunately, it seems that good old Stan is right as a gigantic silhouette was slowly emerging from the lake behind him while he was explaining the situation to us.

"So, until the lake guards calm down, you must not move away from the shore," he says in a final tone.

"Even if there's a lake monster behind you?" Mabel questions, backing away at the same time as me.

"A lake monster?? Hahaha!" Stan mocked, holding his stomach.

"There are no monsters here, it's stuff that people like me invent to sell things to idiots who believe in these kinds of stories," Stan declares after managing to stop laughing.

*Haaaaaa* the monster behind Stan roared.
