----------

Just as Ikki finished his lottery, the sky darkened ominously, and the once-calm sea began to churn violently.

The sudden change caught both Luffy and Ikki off guard. Being their first time out to sea, neither had any sailing experience to handle the situation.

Then Ikki noticed a massive vortex forming in the distance, its pull rapidly drawing their small boat toward it.

"Quick! Grab an oar!" Ikki shouted, handing one to Luffy. "We need to paddle back immediately!"

Luffy, understanding the danger of being caught in the whirlpool, rowed with all his strength.

Despite their combined efforts, the boat was steadily pulled closer to the vortex's center. It became clear they wouldn't escape.

Realizing there was no other option, Ikki tossed his oar aside. Grabbing Luffy with one hand, he swiped the other through the air, creating a shimmering space door. Without hesitation, the two of them stepped through.

On the other side of the door was the cozy cabin of the TX Penguin, the silver-tier item Ikki had just drawn.

...

Inside, the room was fully furnished, complete with a two-meter-wide bed, a desk, bookshelves, air conditioning, a water dispenser, and even a computer.

"It's cozy all right…" Ikki muttered, his voice tinged with disbelief. "Why is everything so… pink?!!"

Luffy, equally baffled, looked around the bright pink room. "So you're a Devil Fruit user too!" he exclaimed, his curiosity piqued. "Ikki, are you sure you want to be my crewmate and not a Marine?"

To Luffy, it seemed Ikki's persistent attempts to convince him to join the Marines must have been because Ikki himself wanted to be one.

Ikki shook his head. "Since I'm on your ship, I'm your crewmate. Simple as that."

Although his tone was flat, Luffy beamed with satisfaction.

Luffy didn't dislike Ikki for trying to dissuade him from being a pirate; on the contrary, he found Ikki interesting . For Luffy, anyone he found interesting was a potential friend and crewmate—whether human or otherwise.

No hesitation, no overthinking. That was Luffy's way.

...

Ikki removed his soaked clothes, tossing them into the pink drying box. "Luffy, take off your clothes too, or they won't dry."

"Got it!" Luffy replied, stripping off his clothes without hesitation. "Man, this room's so pink! It reminds me of Dadan's place!"

Ikki rubbed his temples in exasperation.

"So, Ikki, do you have a girl's heart too?" Luffy asked with genuine curiosity. "Dadan always said pink means you have a girl's heart!"

Ikki sighed. "Luffy, I need to rest. Can we not talk about 'girl's hearts' right now?"

Ignoring Luffy's continued musings, Ikki retrieved the Sky Dragon-Slaying Magic Crystal. He planned to use this time to absorb its power.

The process was straightforward: place the crystal against your forehead and concentrate on absorbing it.

In ten minutes, the process was complete.

Ikki immediately felt a surge of strength coursing through his body. His physical fitness had improved dramatically, and he realized that using the dragon-slaying magic wouldn't require a reservoir of stored energy like traditional magic. Instead, it relied on his physical endurance, similar to how many Devil Fruits worked.

In essence, it was like gaining the benefits of a Devil Fruit without the accompanying weakness to water.

As Ikki marveled at the transformation, Luffy's voice broke his concentration.

"Oi, Ikki! When can we leave this place?"

Ikki considered the question and replied, "Not until the storm outside settles down."

To check on their surroundings, Ikki opened another space door, peering out into the raging sea. The waves crashed violently, and the storm showed no signs of relenting.

Finding that rough waves and howling typhoons still dominated the sea outside, Ikki sighed and closed the space door.

"Let's take a nap first! By the time we wake up, the weather should clear up," he said, taking the lead by lying down on the spacious bed to rest.

Before settling in, Ikki pulled out the Endless Candy Box and poured out a single candy. Examining the pinky-sized treat, he noticed two words etched onto its surface: "Avoid Water."

"So... this candy lets you avoid water, huh?" he muttered, turning it over in his fingers. Judging by its size, it looked like it would last at least ten minutes if held in the mouth. "So you could swim or survive in water for fifteen minutes with this candy... I wonder if it works on Devil Fruit users?"

Ikki stowed the candy away for later and decided to get some much-needed rest. Since his arrival in this world, he hadn't had a proper break in over two days.

Glancing over at Luffy, he found the ever-carefree captain already sprawled out on the floor, snoring loudly. Ikki shook his head with a faint smile before drifting off.

More than ten hours passed.

The East Blue had returned to its calm state, and a space door reappeared where Ikki and Luffy had vanished. Poking his head out to check, Ikki surveyed the sea.

"Looks good out here. Let's head out!" he called back.

Hearing Ikki's words, Luffy cheered and charged through the space door—only to fall straight into the sea with a loud plop.

Ikki stared blankly. "...Seriously?"

Without wasting time, Ikki retrieved the water-proof candy he had poured from the candy box earlier and popped it into Luffy's mouth.

"Luffy, don't swallow this candy! If you swallow it, it won't work!" Ikki warned sharply.

Luffy, however, didn't seem to hear him. A thin, transparent film suddenly enveloped Luffy's body, allowing him to float and breathe underwater.

"Whoa! This is amazing!" Luffy exclaimed, experimenting with his newfound ability to swim freely.

Before Luffy could get any bright ideas about diving deeper, Ikki jumped into the water and stopped him. "This candy's effects only last ten minutes, Luffy. Don't get carried away!"

Luffy nodded in understanding, albeit reluctantly. With the candy's effect, Luffy swam as fast as he could—just as if he were running on land. Together, the duo scanned the horizon for an island or ship.

Ten minutes later, just as the candy's effect was about to wear off, they spotted a passenger ship. Relief swept over them. But as they approached, they noticed another ship closing in—a pirate ship flying a skull and crossbones flag with a red heart at its center.

Ikki recognized the flag instantly. "That's Alvida's crew—the first pirate Luffy encounters in the story!"

Seeing this as an opportunity, Ikki thought, 'I can use Alvida to test whether my private Marine status is valid for the system.'

"Luffy, speed up! Let's—" Ikki began, but before he could finish, Luffy suddenly floundered in the water. The candy's effect had worn off.

"Figures," Ikki sighed, grabbing Luffy and swimming toward the passenger ship. They managed to climb aboard using a rope ladder hanging from the side.

As soon as they reached the deck, Luffy's first thought was food. "I'm starving!" he declared, wandering off to find something to eat.

Ikki, meanwhile, turned his focus to the scene unfolding nearby. Several pirates were threatening a group of wealthy passengers, demanding their gold and jewelry. The passengers cowered in fear as the pirates brandished weapons and laughed menacingly.

"Perfect. Time to act."

Summoning his courage, Ikki rushed forward without hesitation. With a swirl of air gathering around his fist, he invoked the power of Sky Dragon-Slaying Magic.

The pirates turned at the sound of his approach.

----------

"Oh, look at that, a pretty boy," one of the pirates sneered, nudging his crewmates. "Tie him up and present him to the captain. She'll reward us for sure!"

Two of the four pirates stepped forward, twirling their knives as they closed in on Ikki.

"Boy, surrender quietly. Don't worry, our captain has a soft spot for fresh meat like you—"

Before the pirate could finish his taunt, Ikki delivered a clean punch to his chest. But before his fist even connected, a burst of concentrated air pressure from Ikki's strike sent the pirate flying overboard. The crew watched in stunned silence as the man splashed into the sea and disappeared beneath the waves.

The remaining three pirates hesitated for a moment, then roared and charged at Ikki with their swords drawn.

A smirk tugged at Ikki's lips as a vortex of wind swirled visibly around his right arm. "Looks like you've chosen the hard way."

As the three pirates lunged, Ikki swung his arm in a wide arc. A powerful gust of wind exploded from his movement, knocking the pirates into the air and scattering them like leaves. They crashed to the deck and rolled unconscious, weapons clattering to the floor.

"Sky Dragon's Wing Attack"

The wealthy passengers, who had been cowering moments earlier, now hurriedly gathered their families and bowed in gratitude. "Thank you! Thank you for saving us!"

Ikki waved them off casually. "No need to thank me. This is what private Marines are supposed to do."

"Private Marines?" The passengers exchanged puzzled glances. "Is there a Marine branch like that in the East Blue?"

"Don't worry about the details," Ikki said, gesturing for them to retreat. "Go find somewhere safe to hide. I'll deal with the rest of these pirates."

As the passengers scrambled to safety, Ikki's system chimed in:

[Defeated four pirates. Justice Value +4.]

Ikki's eyes lit up. So it works! The private Marine appointment letter Garp had given him was officially recognized by the system. That meant he didn't need to join the official Marines after all.

It wasn't that Ikki didn't want to join, but being a Marine would inevitably mean facing the darker side of the World Government—particularly the Celestial Dragons. With his principles, there was no way he could tolerate their cruelty. Sooner or later, he'd clash with Marine leadership, and his system would become useless if he were branded a criminal.

But as a private Marine, he had the freedom to uphold justice his way. And best of all, he could drag Luffy into it too—after all, his name was also on that appointment letter!

While Ikki mulled over his newfound opportunity, another system notification popped up:

[Justice Value +6.]

A sudden rumbling noise from the direction of the cruise ship's warehouse broke his thoughts.

"What now? Did Luffy just take out someone?" Ikki muttered, sprinting toward the noise.

...

When Ikki arrived at the warehouse, he found a strange scene: a pink-haired boy cowering behind Luffy, who was facing off against a towering, heavy make-up woman wielding a massive mace.

Oblivious to the danger, Luffy pointed at her and asked the pink-haired boy beside him, "Hey, who's this rude Aunty?"

The warehouse fell silent. Alvida's pirates, the pink-haired boy—everyone froze in horror.

"Did he just—?"

"Yes, he called her—"

A collective shudder ran through the crowd as Alvida's expression darkened like a brewing storm.

Ikki strolled in at that moment, shaking his head in exasperation. "Luffy, that's incredibly rude," he chided.

Luffy blinked, confused. "What? She's—"

Ikki gestured toward Alvida with exaggerated politeness. "Can't you tell? She's an old woman!"

Luffy tilted his head. "Oh." Then, with a deep bow, he apologized with utmost sincerity. "I'm sorry, old lady. I shouldn't have called you Aunty."

Alvida's composure shattered entirely. Her face turned crimson with rage, and she swung her massive mace over her head.

"KILL THEM!"

The pirates snapped out of their shock and turned their attention to Ikki, figuring he'd be the easier target. Meanwhile, Alvida aimed her mace directly at Luffy's head, fully intending to crush him.

As more than twenty pirates rushed toward Ikki, he took a calm, deep breath.

"Sky Dragon's Roar"

Before the pirates could reach him, Ikki unleashed a powerful burst of dragon's breath, sending all of them flying across the deck and into the sea.

On the other side of the ship, Luffy faced off against Alvida herself. With a grin, he stretched his arms back and shouted, "Gum-Gum Bazooka!" His fists rocketed forward, slamming into the rotund pirate captain and launching her off the ship and into the ocean.

At that moment, Ikki's system chimed in:

[Elite Pirate defeated. Justice Value +10.]

Ikki grinned. So, Alvida's worth a bit more than the grunts, huh? Still, her bounty of five million berries and her status as a captain didn't amount to much in the grand scheme of things. A captain in the Grand Line—even one with no bounty—would probably grant more points than Alvida. But it was still a good start.

With the Alvida Pirates defeated, the commotion began to settle. That was, until a Marine ship appeared on the horizon, rapidly approaching the passenger vessel.

Seeing the Marines arrive, Luffy immediately grabbed Koby and Ikki. "Let's run! The Marines are here!"

Ikki shook off Luffy's hand, looking annoyed. "Run? Why would we run? We're righteous private Marines!"

"Private Marines?" Luffy tilted his head, confused. He wanted to be the man who would become the Pirate King, yet his crewmate was claiming to be a Marine? What kind of ridiculous setup was this?

"We're pirates!" Luffy declared. "Of course, we have to run when we see Marines!"

"Listen to me! We're certified by the Marines! There's no need to run!" Ikki snapped, pulling out the letter of appointment Garp had given him.

The Marine ship closed in, and soon, a group of Marines boarded the passenger ship. Passengers who had been hiding came out from their hiding spots, collapsing in relief at the sight of the Marines.

Meanwhile, off to the side, an orange-haired girl loaded stolen treasure from the Alvida Pirates' ship onto her small boat. Quietly and efficiently, she sailed away, steering clear of the unfolding chaos.

...

Back on the passenger ship, a Marine captain approached Ikki, Luffy, and Koby. He scrutinized the trio. "Are you passengers as well?"

"No," Luffy answered cheerfully. "We're pirates! My name's Monkey D. Luffy, and I'm going to be the man who will find the ONE PIECE!"

The Marine captain's eyes widened in shock, and he immediately drew his sword.

Before things could escalate, Ikki stepped forward at lightning speed, holding up the letter of appointment. "Hold it! We're on the same side. I'm Private Marine Admiral Ikki, and this guy here"—he gestured to Luffy—"is Private Marine Fleet Admiral!"

The Marine captain froze, staring at Ikki like he'd grown a second head. "...Do you think I'm stupid?"

But then his eyes landed on the letter. The Marine Headquarters seal was genuine. Ikki didn't stop there—he also produced the dog-headed Den Den Mushi, Garp's personal communicator. Seeing this, the Marine captain's skepticism dissolved into shock.

"Private Marine…? Fleet Admiral…?" The captain muttered, his expression a mix of confusion and disbelief.

He thought it through: private Marines were technically under Marine Headquarters but operated independently, so their ranks could vary greatly. While their official titles sounded grand, they might hold less influence than they claimed. Even so, the sheer fact that they were linked to Garp meant they were above his small East Blue station.

His demeanor shifted immediately, becoming more respectful. "Private Marine Fleet Admiral and Admiral… understood, sir."

Just then, the captain hesitated and asked cautiously, "But why did he"—he pointed to Luffy—"say he wanted to find the ONE PIECE'?"

Ikki smirked, leaning in slightly. "Think carefully about his words. What did he actually say?"

The Marine captain frowned, replaying Luffy's statement in his head. After a moment of realization, his eyes went wide. "He said he wanted to become a man of ONE PIECE!"

Ikki nodded sagely. "Exactly. And who's this guy? He's the grandson of Vice Admiral Garp, the legendary Marine who once clashed with the Pirate King himself! Luffy's not just an ordinary guy. He's awakened something extraordinary."

The Marine captain froze, his hand hovering nervously over his sword. "Did I just hear a massive Marine secret?"

Sweat beaded on his brow as he thought, Am I going to get silenced for overhearing this?

(T/N: In many fanfiction, Luffy says he will become One Piece, by rewriting the original chinese words, it seems like he says he will be the 'man' of One Piece, wehre One Piece is the Pirate King and he is his boyfriend. So just think of it that Ikki is telling Luffy is gay.)
