Sundae challenged Ash directly. A girl like her, who had always been praised as heaven's favorite, couldn't help but feel uncomfortable when she encountered a boy like Ash, who seemed indifferent to her.

To be honest, her family background might be better than Misty's, but Misty's family wasn't lacking either. As a Trainer from the Cerulean City Gym, Misty certainly didn't come from a poor background.

Although Sundae had developed a self-centered and narcissistic personality, at least she didn't view everyone else as beneath her.

"Rude? Heh! It's rude to challenge one against five, but it doesn't matter how many of you there are," Ash retorted with a sneer after listening to Sundae's words.

Hearing this, the people behind Sundae couldn't help but lower their heads again. Sundae frowned and looked back at them. She had never heard of such a thing—five people couldn't beat one?

Not only were they humiliated, but they also lost their dignity as Trainers.

None of them dared to meet Sundae's gaze. Though Ash taunted them for ganging up, they weren't like Team Rocket. The school taught that Trainers should battle one-on-one.

For the five of them to attack together was a clear violation of the rules. From Sundae's perspective, losing a fair fight was better than winning this way. At this point, a victory would be even more embarrassing.

"Hmph! The club is competing with you, and it's time to win!" Sundae turned to Ash, ignoring the others, and pulled out a Poké Ball.

"Come on, Graveler!"

Boom!!

Boom!!!

As the Poké Ball opened, there was a loud bang, followed by a heavy thud on the ground, and the shock was palpable.

A Rock-type Pokémon appeared before them, its body shaped like a bumpy, spherical rock with four thick arms. The two upper arms were stronger, while the two on its chest were shorter. One pair was used for attacking, and the other for support, showcasing its impressive defensive power.

Graveler was the evolved form of Geodude. With evolution, its strength and defense grew significantly. When it used Rollout, nothing in its path could withstand its crushing power.

"It's Graveler! Hmm~~ It seems to be well-trained," Brock observed, recognizing the Pokémon immediately. As a Rock-type and Ground-type expert, he could tell at a glance.

This Graveler was indeed well-trained, far surpassing the previous challengers. It seemed that Sundae, an outstanding student, not only excelled academically but also put great care into training her Pokémon.

"O Graveler!"

Ash was slightly surprised. He still remembered how, in the anime, Sundae had used this very Graveler to defeat Misty's Starmie despite the type disadvantage. Its level was indeed high.

"Pikachu, go!" Ash called out, feeling a mix of nostalgia and excitement. He now understood why the original Ash in the anime enjoyed battling against type disadvantages so much.

Though such battles were challenging, the satisfaction of winning without relying on type advantages was incomparable. While the original Ash often ignored type matchups, this time, Ash was eager to take on the challenge himself.

"Pikachu? Ash, Graveler is a Rock- and Ground-type Pokémon. Pikachu's Electric-type moves won't work!" Misty was shocked and couldn't help but remind him.

Sundae frowned, feeling insulted. It seemed to her that Ash was underestimating her.

"Look! Ash must have his own reasons," Brock interjected, standing beside Misty.

Misty hesitated, then relaxed slightly after hearing Brock's words. After all, Brock's Pokémon were also Ground- and Rock-types, but Ash had still managed to defeat him.

"Sending out Pikachu despite the type disadvantage—are you underestimating me?" Sundae frowned, her expression darkening. After all, she had once used a similar strategy to win.

"I'm always serious. If you don't want to lose as badly as they did, you'd better get ready!" Ash said with a confident smile, pointing to the people behind Sundae, reminding her of their earlier defeat.

"How dare you!"

Ash's taunts only fueled their anger, but they had no comeback and could only scowl in frustration.

"In that case, I'll show you my strength! Graveler, use Rollout!"

Sundae was now completely enraged. With a command, Graveler brought its four arms together, curled up into a giant rock, and rolled directly toward Pikachu.

"Hmph! You can dodge this with your eyes closed! Pikachu, use Agility!"

Ash gave his order at the same time. Pikachu immediately leaped into action, vanishing in a flash. An afterimage remained where Pikachu had stood—not a Double Team, but a visual effect caused by Pikachu's incredible speed.

Graveler's Rollout could only chase Pikachu's shadow. The first attack missed, and Sundae began to realize just how fast Pikachu really was.

"So fast!" one of the boys behind Sundae exclaimed, impressed by Pikachu's speed.

"Hmph! Speed doesn't matter when Electric-type moves won't work on Graveler. It's impossible to defeat it," another boy commented.

As the battle continued, a large crowd of students gathered around. A showdown between Sundae, the top student, and an outside Trainer like Ash was rare. Word spread quickly, and soon the playground was full of spectators.

"You can't dodge this one! Graveler, use Rock Blast!"

Realizing that Graveler couldn't keep up with Pikachu's speed, Sundae decided to switch tactics.

Graveler halted its Rollout and, under Sundae's command, slammed the ground with a heavy stomp. The impact sent rocks flying into the air. Graveler then swung its upper arms, launching the rocks at Pikachu.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

The rocks exploded in mid-air, shattering into countless smaller stones that rained down on Pikachu.

"Shoot them down with Thunder Shock!" Ash reacted quickly, seeing the incoming barrage.
