"...authority over the Fire Daimyo's court as well. This is a mission you cannot fail, Kushina," Minato said.
Kushina nodded. "Don't worry about it. I know what's best for Konoha, and Naruto is not fit to be the heir."
Jiraiya nodded in agreement. "I'm glad you see it that way, Kushina."
Kushina nodded again and left. Minato then discussed the future training regime and plans, including summoning the toads. Jiraiya, characteristically casual, shrugged it off. "Who cares, anyway?"
Meanwhile, Naruto appeared in a secluded area. A portal opened in front of him, and a figure stepped out, appearing as a princess. She smiled at Naruto, who looked at her with curiosity but quickly shook it off.
"So, what's the report from the Fire Daimyo's capital Kia?" Naruto asked.
She reported that her change in behavior had raised some suspicions but was ultimately dismissed as being related to her upcoming wedding. She had also decided to help the citizens, though Naruto didn't particularly care about that. They chatted briefly before Naruto decided to leave. She began asking about his new powers, but Naruto didn't care much for the details.
He appeared in his mindscape to see the gigantic form of the new Ten-Tails. The Ten-Tails, now Kurama, greeted him.
"Naruto-sama," Kurama said respectively.
Naruto looked at him. "Well, Kurama, what new powers have you gained through this transformation of yours?"
Kurama smirked. "If I must say, my lord, I now have the chakra equivalent of at least three planets, including this one."
Naruto raised an eyebrow. "That's impressive. And what new abilities do you have?"
Kurama explained his new abilities, including control over time and the ability to jump through dimensions. Through his connection with Naruto, he could also heal others, a useful ability given Naruto's extensive use of destruction energy. Healing others was not one of Naruto's abilities, though he could heal himself. The ability to jump dimensions was something Naruto could potentially achieve with his destruction energy, but this provided an easier method.
Naruto considered this and then asked, "Tell me, Kurama, do you think you can sense the presence of the God Tree?"
Kurama closed his eyes and concentrated. "If I focus, my lord, I believe I can."
Naruto nodded. "Then tell me where it is. I want to eat its fruit and see how it will affect my destruction energy."
Kurama hesitated briefly but nodded. He understood the power Naruto possessed and did not doubt his superiority of His LORD for a second. Naruto decided to return to the village for now, knowing that he would have more plans to enact in the future.
In the council room, two elders were looking at each other while another elder, Danzo, stood before them. Danzo had just explained his plan to recruit Naruto into the Root program. The elders were concerned, and Koharu spoke up, "Danzo, it's not that we disagree that his talents would be more suited in Root, but are you sure about this? You know that if Minato finds out, even though he doesn't care about his son now because of the seal you put on him, he sees you as a threat to the village. He will definitely use it as an excuse to get rid of you and maybe us as well."
Danzo simply smirked. "I am not a fool. I have seen the talent of that kid, and I must say he's a threat. We both know how he was treated and the techniques he has developed. They should be used for the good of Konoha and not against it. Soon enough, I will make my move, and if things get worse, I will place loyalty seals on him so that he can be used for the good of Konoha. Jiraiya has already stepped up his game with the training of Menma and Naruko. In the near future, they will definitely challenge him for the title again, and if I were to guess, it would be in the Chunin Exams. After he loses, he will be destroyed, and that will be a great opportunity to make him a part of Root."
Koharu and Homura looked at each other and nodded. They knew the kid was a security risk given how he was treated in the village, but the village always came first. They nodded at the thought. Danzo had a smirk on his face; he had already sent one of his spies, Sai, into Naruto's team. It would be easy for him to take control soon enough. The rule of Minato Namikaze would be over, and he would have his perfect weapons. He would take Minato down and become Hokage. A dark smirk appeared on his face.
Back in the Hokage's office, Jiraiya was talking to Minato. "Come on, Minato, you know the kids are special and how powerful they are. Even Sasuke is not bad. So why are you giving us a demotion? We should at least start with C-rank missions, and after that, they should be ready for B and A-rank missions."
Minato sighed. "As I've already explained, there's a lot of headaches in the council. If I give them a C-rank mission just like that, the council will be on my ass. I need to recover my strength in the council and avoid these headaches for now. They have to complete the agenda of D-rank missions, at least 25 of them, before they can start on a C-rank mission."
Jiraiya was not happy with this. He had already upped the training of Meenma and Naruko to improve the Rasengan and teach them some sealing techniques. Unfortunately, the council's restrictions were limiting their progress.
