Capítulo 6: CH-4

Nate completed his school homework quickly due to his superior intelligence. In a few minutes. None of his homework in any subject, trigonometry or otherwise, was due tomorrow, but he did get rid of something bothersome while he had time.

He spent the rest of the afternoon working on his body. He wasn't your typical Kryptonian. He had other ways to gain strength besides soaking in, sucking in the Yellow Sun's rays.

Nate could simply train and use his skills and abilities to improve his skillfulness and raw power, and he could become stronger through deliberate, recurrent practice, just like any other person.

This included not only strengthening his body, but also learning new skills, such as how to even better handle a basketball or be an even more skilled sports player, among other things.

Naturally, the standards applied to him were not human. They were alien standards.

When he returned inside his house, he discovered an interesting surprise. A woman sat on his living room couch, holding his trigonometry homework and burying her face in it.

She was a beautiful woman who spoke without turning her head back, as if she sensed his approach.

She said,

"Do you understand most of these?"

Nate frowned and said,

"Yeah? I don't think we had the pleasure, though. Who are you?"

"Did you break and enter?"

The woman was dressed in an angelic white robe. Only a white robe, which revealed her shoulders and most of her upper back. She turned her face when she heard Nate.

Nate already suspected he knew her voice and who she could be, so recognizing her face came as no surprise.

It was that girl, Lindsay. That beautiful girl who had been brainwashed into believing she was from Krypton and that her name was Kara.

She had long blond hair, a beautiful lean and tall body, and an angelic face. She was a half-head shorter than Clark.

Lindsay inquired, her eyes filled with curiosity,

"Does entering through an unlocked window count as breaking into your home? My name is Lindsay."

Nate frowned, thinking,

'Lindsay? Does she know her true name in this world?'

She was supposed to call herself Kara. Or was there another plan here?

Nate was not Clark, so there could be something else going on here, though he didn't know what.

Nate thought and said, forgetting about the break-in,

"Nice to meet you, Lindsay; my name is Nate, and I'm a pervert who likes to suck on women's feet. Can I do anything for you?"

After speaking, he snapped his fingers. He didn't particularly like women's feet, nor was he a freak who enjoyed sucking on them. He was simply attempting to verify something related to the larger picture here.

Lindsay's eyes became strange for a moment, as if she was forgetting something, perhaps even a part of her purpose or identity, before she said,

"Hmm? Who are you? Why am I here?"

Nate noticed her reaction and concluded internally,

'It looks like she's really here for me and knows some things…'

He smiled and snapped his fingers again before asking,

"Is there something wrong? You did not answer my question."

Lindsay's body winced for a moment, as did her confused gaze, which appeared to regain some mental clarity as she said,

"Sorry, something strange seems to have happened to me for a moment."

Nate responded,

"No problem."

Lindsay smiled and said,

"Nate, nice to meet you… I only remember my name and am not sure why I am here in this town. To be honest, I don't remember anything other than the last few hours. I entered your home out of curiosity, hoping you would recognize me… But you don't seem to know who I am."

Nate chuckled internally. He wasn't sure why Lindsay was here, but he was certain it had something to do with Jor-El... Now he was also figuring out how Jor-El wanted to approach whatever this was.

He asked the beautiful blond young woman,

"Have you lost your memories? That seems like a bit of a nerve-wracking ordeal... Maybe I can offer you some valuable help, but I believe the cops and authorities will get what needs to be done faster than me in this case. Let me call them and see."

He didn't wait and walked over to the phone on his kitchen counter.

Lindsay moved fast, at super-speed actually, and grabbed his hand to stop him.

She pleaded,

"No. Don't. I'm not sure what happened to me or why I lost my memories, but my situation does not seem to be normal. If you call the authorities to solve this for me, I could end up in a bad situation or in a lab."

Nate didn't focus on her plea, instead he focused on her speed just now.

He asked,

"Was that me just now, or did you kind of break the sound barrier?"

Nate wasn't sure why Lindsay was here, but at least he was going to force her to reveal her abilities to him.

Lindsay nodded and said,

"Yes. I woke up like this in the forest, and I have other abilities besides the obvious super speed… Please don't tell anyone?"

Nate smiled, realizing where this scheme was going and what it was probably about.

Jor-El wanted him to get close to this woman, maybe even more. He and she would most likely be close friends or more by the time she would pretend to recall her memories…

Later, she'd probably get him to go to the caves, right? For whatever mission Jor-El wanted to entrust him with?

If Jor-El knew about him, he most likely knew his identity and name. His Kryptonian ones.

This woman already knew some, if not most, of his observable, obvious secrets, so Jor-El was well aware of them surely... Nate could make Jor-El forget them and lose interest in him. He could make Jor-El forget the source of his hostility toward him if he had any.

But Nate trusted his instincts.

He didn't get the sense that the guy had hostile thoughts on him. He wouldn't have sent him such a gift otherwise. He would probably not be patient with this scheme either.

Nate, unconcerned, said,

"No problems whatsoever. I will not tell anyone; you can rely on me."

"You'll probably need a place to stay while we look into your identity. How about you stay here with me for a while? I live alone and could use some companionship."

Nate was not going to tell Lindsay about his powers or abilities. Not because he wanted to hide them, but because this was a test from Jor-El, possibly as part of a scheme. He didn't want Jor-El to think he was the type of person who enjoyed showing off his abilities to everyone.

It was fine to let Jor-El believe he was open with Clark because Clark was his son. Whatever this was, it was most likely related to Clark anyway... It was better to let Jor-El believe that he liked Clark, which he did.

More importantly, as much as Nate admired his ability to manipulate reality to make people forget things, he didn't want to abuse it because it was tedious. He preferred not to use it on certain people, despite the fact that it was omnipotent in many ways.

If he continued to use it excessively, the plot would never progress.

It was better to use it for minor details or helpless situations. Nothing seemed helpless right now.

Lindsay asked, "Is it really okay with you?" as she looked around the house.

"I'm not a normal person, and having those powers on me could be dangerous."

Nate said,

"Yes, I don't mind at all, and it's perfectly fine with me. Do not worry about me... You don't really have anywhere else to go now, do you? Someone needs to help you. You will live with me until your memories return or someone who knows you steps forward."

Lindsay expressed gratitude with a relieved smile,

"Thanks. Thank you for your kindness, Nate."

Nate said,

"Don't thank me too soon; living here won't be free. You will be expected to help around the house with whatever skills you possess. For example, you could prepare some meals for me... Do you mind?"

"For example, when I come home from school and am exhausted?"

"I'm afraid you'll be uncomfortable and want to leave if I don't let you do anything here. I want you to be at ease."

Lindsay responded,

"That will not be a problem at all; I have forgotten how to cook, but that is something I can learn again. I'll need something to do when I'm not searching around town for my identity."

She was a good actress.

Nate couldn't help but chuckle when he heard she was going to look for her identity. Acting was a ruthless career…

Nate had no idea how long this would last, but he hoped this woman would take her time.

To observe and spy on him, most likely? Nate didn't mind living with a beautiful woman at all.

In the story, Jor-El gave Lindsay the name Kara and led her to believe she was his son Kal-El's cousin. Even so, she had seduced and kissed him.

It was clear that Kryptonians didn't mind a lot of romantic behavior that would be considered borderline and incestuous on Earth.

If not all of them, Jor-El most likely had a sexually open mind.

He sent Nate such a nice gift, how could Nate refuse it?

Especially since Lindsay was not even from Krypton and he had no connection to her.

That night, Nate returned to his room that night after introducing Lindsay to the house and providing her with a good bedroom, which was the master bedroom. He was careful not to reveal his powers, or at least he was now trying to give Lindsay the impression that he was confident she would not notice him when he used them.

Looking at the clock late at night, Nate began drawing his daily prizes.

Interacting with Clark Kent like a good friend for the first time most likely resulted in a lucky day.

Even if there was no way to obtain another Essence before a century or two had passed, it appeared possible to be reasonably lucky.

Aside from the usual abundance of Super Senzu beans, he drew some interesting items this time. They were useless to him, but interesting because they confirmed that he could obtain anything.

The first item was the great fireball jutsu scroll that Nate could read and learn to use. The limitations of Chakra and the world of Naruto would have no effect on him.

With heat vision, the technique was obviously useless to him. He didn't pay it much attention, despite the fact that he would eventually learn it.

He wouldn't spit on it, of course.

The second and more surprising item was a devil fruit that had already been eaten and contained no powers. Nate couldn't tell which devil fruit it was, but he hoped to get another one someday.

This time one that was not already eaten if possible…

The last item drawn was also useless, as it was empty.

It was an empty teapot of ultra divine water.
