As she entered the dining room, she saw Hunter already seated at the table with Jessica, both engaged in light-hearted conversation.

The sight of him so relaxed and comfortable in her home only heightened her irritation. Hunter looked up and seeing her, he grinned.

"Good morning, Lila," Hunter greeted, his voice laced with a cheerfulness that grated on her nerves. "Sleep well?"
