Capítulo 23: Chapter 23 - The New Bartender of Marid's Cave (Part 4)

Descending the stairs with Amara in her serpent form, Daemom saw that the nightclub was completely empty, which was to be expected given the time. But he could still smell the remnants of the previous night, lingering even though the entire club had been properly cleaned. The scent was already ingrained in the circular sofas and walls. Sex, lust, and heavy intoxication.

"Are you the newbie?" Hearing a female voice beside him, Daemom turned his head and saw two women. They were almost identical in appearance and were of the same race as Zafir, an Ifrit, with black skin and yellow eyes that resembled flames.

"I am Zahra, and this is Samira, my twin sister. Nice to meet you." The woman who identified herself as Zahra approached and extended her hand, which Daemom shook as he introduced himself.

"Daemom. This is Amara, my companion." He said, then pointed to Amara curled around his neck. Amara wriggled with a very happy expression at Daemom's introduction.

Zahra and Samira looked curiously at Amara for a moment but then focused on Daemom.

"We know, it's not every day we see the Queen of Sheba riding a man she met just a few hours ago." Samira said with a slightly lascivious laugh, her expression anything but innocent, looking ambiguously at Daemom.

"My charm is so incredible that even queens fall for me." Showing an expression of extreme sadness and helplessness, Daemom responded, spreading his arms. His smile, though somewhat conceited, was very charismatic, making everyone not dislike Daemom's arrogance.

"Hehehehe~" Both twins laughed sweetly at Daemom's words. It was the first time they had met someone with such a large and narcissistic ego in their long lives. Even so, he exuded an aura that made both twins want to get closer. His gaze, his gentle smile, was almost like a magnet drawing their attention.

However, looking at Daemom's face and body, Samira and Zahra knew why he had gained Bilqis's interest. The young man in front of them was truly beautiful. His red, plump lips looked like forbidden fruit in the Garden of Eden, tempting them to take a bite.

Suddenly, seeing their boss approaching, Zahra and Samira bid farewell and went up the stairs after a long night, wanting only to rest.

"Boss!" Daemom greeted the Ifrit with a smile on his face, not caring about the slightly hostile look of the supernatural being. It wasn't his fault that Zafir couldn't win Bilqis over.

"Come with me." Looking with dissatisfaction at the smiling boy, Zafir snorted coldly and asked Daemom to follow him.

Daemom shrugged and followed the man behind the counter. "My Malika said she would take care of your work uniform, so let's start with the basics of making drinks," Zafir said with an expressionless face, but his bitter and helpless tone indicated that the news wasn't to his liking.

This only meant that Bilqis had all of Daemom's measurements…

Daemom nodded and displayed a serious expression, genuinely wanting to learn. If he was going to work, he would do it with quality and elegance.

This certainly eased Zafir's expression; it seemed the kid really wanted to learn. Letting out a sigh full of bitterness and helplessness, Zafir pushed those confusing thoughts aside and focused on the task at hand. He began to teach with an equally serious expression, as he took his profession very seriously.

As Daemom started his first drink-making lesson with a veteran of a thousand years, in another part of the city, in an abandoned building, five demons stared at each other in silence.

"How are we doing?" a demon covered in green scales asked with a cold and indifferent tone. He appeared to be the tallest in the group, making the other demons seem somewhat small in his presence.

"Seven casualties, no traces left at the attack sites, Baron Azragoth," a short demon, about 142 cm tall, replied with a humble tone before the Green-Scaled Demon.

"It seems the exorcist knows what he's doing," Azragoth murmured to himself, listening to his subordinates' report.

At this moment, he was already aware that Duke Belial had been exorcised by a human; it was no longer a secret, even in Hell, this information had reached the ears of all other demons.

It could be said that Belial had become a laughingstock in Hell among the higher echelons. But while it might be a joke for Dukes and Infernal Princes, it wasn't for him.

Azragoth wasn't stupid; he had risen from a lowly imp to his current status because he was smarter than his fellow demons who only knew how to kill and destroy. Someone capable of exorcising an Infernal Duke could certainly kill him if he wasn't cautious enough.

Firstly, he hadn't even wanted this job. He would have gladly given it to anyone else. Unfortunately, demons who had begun to learn how to manipulate their demonic energy were not fools; any idiot could see that this was a very risky mission.

Unfortunately, in Hell, there is only one law: the strong rule over the weak, regardless of their means.

As the weak party, Azragoth had no way to refuse an order from an Infernal Duke. Only a deadly glance from a high-level demon could turn him into a cloud of blood and sulfur.

Unfortunately, being one of the strongest demons and at an intermediate stage of Demonic Energy Manipulation, he was chosen by Belial to lead a small group of demons.

Leading a hundred imps and four low-ranking demons, Azragoth could be considered relatively successful in Hell. However, if Azragoth were at the Advanced Stages of Demonic Energy Manipulation, he wouldn't dare step into the human world.

Entering the human realm with such strength was akin to inviting the Celestial Host stationed in the Seventh Heaven to greet him in an unfriendly manner, especially the Archangel Gabriel commanding the Seventh Heavenly Legion.

"He seems to know our habits very well, especially those of the imps, and he's also capable of hiding his divine aura quite effectively," said a female demon with purple scales and a jackal's head, her beautiful voice carrying the weight of her words.

This was Thalassa, a low-ranking demon who had controlled her instincts for thirty years, though she was still in the early stages even after three decades.

Her words silenced everyone around them. This type of enemy was the worst to face; they were in the light while the enemy was in the shadows, watching them.

"Do you want to start a massacre and attract the damn exorcist's attention?" a male demon with a tiger's head commented, his tongue flickering between his teeth as he thought about the delicious and tender taste of human flesh.

"If you want to get yourself killed, you can do it alone, Grimnir. I won't start a massacre," Thalassa retorted with a sneer, showing no hesitation.

Even after five years of controlling his instincts, Grimnir was acting like a brainless imp. Starting a massacre was no different from putting a beacon on their heads—a beacon that angels would undoubtedly detect. Unlike demons, the Veil didn't prevent angels from entering the human world.

This meant they would have to fight powerful angels while being limited by the Veil that restricted their powers. Thus, starting a massacre would be akin to suicide.

"Thalassa is right, Grimnir," Azragoth agreed with his subordinate's words. His eyes stared at the lion-headed demon with a warning glint, even displaying a faint hint of murderous intent in his otherwise calm gaze.

He would never take such a great risk due to an impulsive decision; he'd prefer to kill Grimnir rather than undertake such a dangerous and unnecessary risk in the first place.

Grimnir clenched his teeth upon hearing this and lowered his head, sensing the hidden murderous intent in the Infernal Baron's gaze. Although internally he didn't believe he was wrong in the first place—after all, it was just about killing humans and drawing the exorcist's attention, then killing the damn exorcist and fleeing to Hell—he felt that if they were quick enough, they could complete the mission in a short time.

However, no one agreed with this approach, leading Grimnir to think that everyone else was a coward and that he was the only good soldier for Duke Belial.

"Record the attack sites and map out the areas the exorcist is hunting. We'll trace his path from there," Azragoth said calmly after some consideration. His voice was filled with authority and coldness, and his gaze lingered on Grimnir for a moment before moving to the other demons.

"Yes, Baron Azragoth," the four low-ranking demons responded in unison.

As he watched the four leave, Azragoth stroked his scaled eyebrows and let out a tired sigh. "May Satan bless my mission. I want to kill this exorcist soon and return to Hell."

Poor Azragoth, he didn't know he was praying to kill the child of the existence who had just asked for help. If he had known, even if he had been a million times braver, he would never have asked for something like that.
