"Why did they choose to meet on Shikine Island? Even though the Tokyo settlement is safer." Suzaku asked Cecile and Lloyd in confusion.
They were currently on their way to escort Euphemia to meet important guests from the Britannia imperial nobility. It's just that what confused Suzaku was why the meeting place was on Shikine Island, because according to Suzaku the Tokyo settlement was safer. But what they didn't know was that Shikine Island was not an ordinary island but a Britannia military base.

Zero asked Suzaku to come out of the cockpit to talk, Lelouch's goal in capturing Suzaku was to persuade Suzaku to join him. Therefore he tried to persuade Suzaku to join him because he didn't want to kill him.
When Suzaku hesitated to follow Zero's request, Euphemia immediately asked him to come out according to Zero's request. She was worried that Zero would kill Suzaku if Suzaku didn't follow his request.
When Zero tried to convince Suzaku, a flying warship passed above Shikine Island and approached Suzaku and Zero's place. This flying warship was Avalon, a flying warship owned by the second Prince of Britannia, Schneizel El Britannia. Avalon was the first warship to use a floating system that allowed it to float in the sky indefinitely.
Avalon immediately fired hundreds of missiles at the Kuro no Kishidan who surrounded Suzaku and Zero in the middle. Seeing hundreds of missiles approaching, the Kuro no Kishidan immediately shot down each missile.
"Kururugi Suzaku, this is Lieutenant Colonel Fayer, try to hold Zero in place"
