Raven hesitated, trying to sound casual, though a part of him wished she could crave something more substantial.

Raven couldn't shake the memory of Seraphina being so furious over the tiniest things lately.

The doctor had mentioned that pregnancy might make her more emotional or sensitive, but what Raven saw with his own eyes went far beyond just sensitivity. Her mood swings had been... well, intense. He found himself walking on eggshells around her.

His hands were awkwardly patting her shoulder, trying to comfort her but not sure if he was doing it right. He was careful—probably too careful.

"Is there anything else you'd like to eat?" he asked, attempting to keep his voice light.
