Capítulo 2: Terminid Colony

Erata Prime

A jungle planet located on Super Earth's outer rim of territories and was designated the identity of border planet as it was located on the fringes of super earth territory.

On the surface of Erata Prime, it was nothing but green as a jungled terrain nurtured by the perfect atmosphere unfolded like a sea of green besides the sea of blue.

And inside that perfect green atmosphere colored by blue, a delicate eco system relatively untouched by super earth sub colonies unfolded.

But, sadly due to the outbreak of terminid colonies all over the planet, penetrating deep into the planet's crust several bugs have disrupted the ecosystem and have deprived it of all its natural wildlife.

The humans colonizing the planet included.

And it was thus decided by all of Super Earth's democratic leaders that they should liberate the planet of the terminid scum before they could spread to the other border planets.

Which led to the current situation currently where super destroyers from all walks of life jumped into the skies and launched down super soldiers of the Helldiver variety.

"You ready M2!?"

"Yes Sir"

"WOOH! LETS GET TO IT!"

Gerald, or rather G1 Excitedly shouted as the new acquaintance who now went by the name of M2 fell from the skies in hell pods.

Having taken the time to talk to each other M2 was now significantly more compliant to talking despite the previous freeze.

And they took the time to learn.

The mission was as follows.

Follow G1, learn how to call down stratagems, learn how to hopefully load a SEAD mortar or activate a radar station then shoot bugs.

And more bugs.

And more bugs.

Just keep shooting bugs by preferably blowing up their nests.

*BANG!*

Like the hammer of Liberty, two large bolts of metal were slammed into the earth at mach speeds.

Piercing the ground, the dirt was sent flying as the impact was mitigated by the rockets set on the outsides of the pods.

Exploding up, the covers were sent flying all the while the hell pods moved up to release the Helldivers from within their metallic embraces.

*Fuuu...* "Breath in that fresh air M2, this is the planet that our predecessors built on...'

He bent over exaggeratedly in playful agony before shouting. "That is until those foul bugs took over our beautiful home world and turned it into the disgusting bug colony it is today!"

"..."

"..."

"Didn't you say you were born on-"

"YAYAYAYAYAY We don't need to talk about that!"

Bringing his left arm up, with practised, precise strokes a small tennis ball sized metal object appeared in it.

"Now, this is the basic operation that you have to do all the time EVERY single time that you drop."

"Unless you for some reason decide to drop in the middle of a nest or factory or something."

"But in any case"

He threw the ball down manifesting a blue beacon which pierced the skies following it up by two other ones.

"This is a stratagem, a support weapon stratagem to be exact, and its duty is to tell the super destroyers up there."

He pointed at the big black ship in the sky. "To bring things down here."

He pointed at the blue stratagem that was quickly replaced by

"Now since you're a newbie and basically have nothing unlocked I'll give you a taste of some of the more expensive weapons..."

G1 moved towards the drop pod which extended outwards to reveal a hand held gun from it.

"-Like this Flame Thrower right here, now take it."

"Now you try it, pull up the interface on your wrist and call down the stratagem listed on the top right."

Following his instruction, M2 looked at the blue and red icons on the side, one depicting a bullet heading down to a globe and the other being a machine gun.

"I see two of them... G1"

"Oh yeah, I forgot that newbie's only have two of them in the first place, anyways, those two are the orbital strike and machine gun stratagem, which are respectively the red and blue ones."

"The one that you want to call down is the blue one."

"Like this?" Fingers gliding across the screen, his arm shifted before popping out a blue ball in it.

"Yeah! Now you're getting it! You're a natural at this!" Ignoring the blast of dirt and taking the machine gun that soon appeared on the ground, he holstered it onto his back before gesturing.

"Now follow me while explain the map functions."

"Now see on your wrist is the standard issue stratagem calling, map forming, communicator hell band issued to us helldivers."

"It has everything that a helldiver needs on the field."

"Now, since we're currently talking through the radio coms we don't need to use the comms, but when one of our multilingual friends from super earth appear, we need these to communicate."

"But yeah, just talk normally and follow me AS WE ERADICATE SUM BUGS WAHAHAHHAHA- COUGH COUGH KAK!"

Doubling over from the sudden intake of air, G1 stopped M2 From helping him as he opened the map and pinged it.

"Cough kak, ugh my throat hurts" Rubbing it he continued "Anyways, see the top of your hud? I've pinged our objective on it, and luckily enough, it seems that the SEAF Artillery site is in the way."

"Ok"

---

Walking through the forest of green, Michael felt as if he was in another world, and technically he was.

All around him, the towering green trees had flat leaves that covered the skies in their green as they were held up by brown arms of wood and bark.

Stepping on the soft soil, he felt a bump and looked at his foot only to see a large black beetle scuttle away into the undergrowth."

Staring at it scuttle away he pointed at the creature and turned to G1 who was still trekking through the forest.

"G1... when you say we are killing some bugs, is it like that one?"

"...What do you mean?"

Turning and tilting his head, G1's gaze followed Michaels finger and landed on the large beetle scuttling up the wood before chuckling.

"Puahahah!" Shaking his head, he amusedly spoke.

"No, those are the good bugs, the ones that we want to liberate this planet from are much more orange, and are significantly more aggressive while being much much larger."

"So we aren't killing that bug?"

"Pahahah! No we aren't M2... HEY I SAID WE AREN'T MAN DON'T SHOOT IT!!!"

Hurriedly returning to bring down his arm, M2 regretfully stared at the retreating beetle before holstering his pistol.

Wiping away the intangible sweat from his forehead, g1 returned to his brief trot as the drone buzzed around his head.

"Okay, now see that thing in the distance?"

Pointing at a stone structure in the distance, it appeared as if someone had chosen to pull up to parts of the earth and build the structure that he was seeing right now.

It was like an incredibly miniature valley.

And in that valley were orange bugs crawling all over its surface like a colony of ants.

"That is our target."

He pinged it, causing a red target to appear in the middle of his vision.

And by focusing it, the words bug nest were the ones that appeared.

"Now since we aren't exactly pressed for time I'll explain a few other things and maybe help you on a few other missions before returning to the higher difficulties."

Looking at Michael, he nodded fiercely while keeping his ears upon in fear of missing anything.

"That is a bug nest filled with eggs."

Fierce nodding.

"We destroy bug nests."

Even more fierce nodding.

'...'

"..."

"Well let's get to it then!"

"Wait, is that it?"

"Well yeah." He confusedly looked back as he slung the machine gun over his shoulder. "What else is there to talk about?"

"Nothing about any of the other bugs that we might have to be careful with? Or anything else that we have to take care of?"

"No? It's just get in, kill bugs, destroy nests, do the optional side objectives and get out, nothing much to it."

"..."

"What are you waiting for?! Come on down!"

Holding his gun, without any other words being spoken, Michael was surprised to feel that the air around Gerald had suddenly shifted.

If before he was like some sort of incredibly friendly dog who's tail wagged like some sort of helicopter, then now it was as if he was a hunting dog who's hackles were raised and bone white teeth were now showing.

"Now come on and help me kill these bugs."

Even his voice had deepened!

Pointing his machine gun, with a stable stance he walked forwards before pulling the trigger.

*SCREE!*

And almost instantly after, the chorus of insect screams followed.

Bullet after bullet landed into orange flesh as the belt of bullets was fed into the gun and spat out as flesh rupturing metal pieces.

Landing into the bug flesh, the orange bugs with round bodies exploded into a gory mess.

"What are you waiting for M2 Get over here and kill these bugs! NOW!"

Shivering at the unfamiliar tone, Michael pulled his gun up and aimed down the sights right before pulling the trigger.

And with a small doubt in his mind, he felt a punch to his shoulders as the bullets fed into the liberator gun started spewing fire at the insects.

Moving past the yellow film, the shield surrounding Michael proved to be incredibly effective as the shield surrounding him didn't affect him in the slightest despite the bug that had snuck up beind him striking his back.

"Ah!"

Panicking slightly, he stomped downwards, crushing the bug underneath the heel of his boot, splattering green blood all over him.

*Scra scra scra!*

Hearing the strange call, Michael turned around to see an insect breathing out a small pillar of orange before dying to a bullet.

"Bug Breach incoming M2! Start unleashing fire on those buggy bastards!"

"Um! Yes!"

Pulling the flame thrower off of his back, upon pulling the trigger a brief gout of gas blast out before lighting up into thunderous amber fire.

And landing on the position the orange smoke had appeared from, the earth split apart as insects crawled out from the earth.

And not so unfortunately, they had immediately arrived into a sea of flame, bathing in its amber radiance cooking their shells.

*SCREEE!!!

All around him, the sounds of bug screeches filled the air like some sort of unholy chorus from the depths of hell.

"M2! Come here! This is the goal of the day! It should show on your hud but!"

Pointing at orange glowing bulbs on the sides of the miniature valley, he brought out a grenade and wound up his arm.

Throwing a grenade at the numerous glowing orange bulbs stuck to the wall, with a brief delay, they immediately tore them apart into small bits.

"KA----BOOOMM!"

BOOOM!

Shaking the ground and sending shrapnel everywhere, the bug eggs were instantly vaporized as the Hud instantly changed to display a different egg destruction value.

"Woo! Die die and die!"

Interuptting his celebration, a mechanized male voice suddenly burst in from the intercoms followed by the sound of the atmosphere being pierced by a hellpod.

[Reinforcements incoming, Helldiver deployed.]

"Hmm? Reinforcements? Didn't high command tell them that the mission was nearly complete? Well no matter, M2, follow me to greet the new helldiver!"

"We can talk about other things later, but right now lets greet our friend"

Feeling slight off from the interaction, the new Helldiver that had suddenly dropped down in the middle of the mission turned his head.

"Hey there fellow Helldiver! What's your name? F3? Here, let me call in a few weapons for you to get sta-"

*BANG*

"Huh?"

Belatedly reacting, it was to late to retaliate against the sudden attack as F3 stopped G1 from pulling out his gun and punched him right in the helmet.

"For the QUEEN!"
