As they searched the city for the Sands of Time, the team found themselves confronted by Dr. Blackwood and his mercenaries. In a desperate battle amidst the ruins, they fought for control of the artifact, each side driven by their own desires and ambitions.
But in the end, it was the wisdom of the ancients that prevailed. Realizing the true cost of immortality, the team chose to leave the Sands of Time undisturbed, buried beneath the sands of the desert. In doing so, they broke the curse that bound the city and freed its spectral inhabitants to find peace at last.
