Smeargle's body glowed with white energy as he had just got a new move, one which he had copied from Starmie, whom Ace had brought back alongside Mankey after getting his carry limit to 12.
Beside him, the girls—Serena, May, and Dawn—stood ready. They had seen Smeargle training with Ace over the past two days at the Oak lab, and they knew the plan. Smeargle was gonna use it's new power to attack all the Pokemon and take them out in one move, but they had to time it right.
"Ace, we're ready!" Serena said as Ace nodded as he gestured to Smeargle, signaling the start of their operation. "Smeargle, set up!"
With a nod, Smeargle began his work. It wasn't long before the familiar glow of Amnesia, Swords Dance, Agility, Defense Curl, and Minimize enveloped the little Pokémon. His defenses and special defence grew stronger, his attack power multiplied, his evasion flexibility and his speed was heightened.
The girls readied their own Pokémon, while Ace released his team as well. Spearow, Dratini, Nidoran, Torchic, Fennekin, and Piplup appeared.
"Let's go! Attack!" Ace commanded as the rockets looked back in surprise at someone Daring to attack them.
Immediately, the battlefield erupted.
The first Arbok lunged towards Nidoran, its mouth glowing with dark-type energy as it readied a Bite attack. But Nidoran jumped high in the air, glowing with a fiery red energy around it's body. "Thrash!" Ace shouted.
In the blink of an eye, Nidoran slammed into Arbok's head with full force, knocking the snake Pokémon back. The second Arbok didn't fare much better. From three sides, Torchic's Ember, Fennekin's Ember, and Piplup's Water Gun slammed into it, knocking it off balance.
Meanwhile, the two Grimers tried to retaliate. But before they could unleash a Sludge Bomb, Spearow zipped through the air, wings glowing with a powerful Wing Attack. The Sludge Bombs shattered in midair as Spearow sliced through them effortlessly.
"Tri Attack!" Ace called out as a Spearow's beak opened, firing a multicolored beam made of lightning, fire, and ice. It struck the two Grimers, causing one to freeze solid and the other to catch fire, writhing in pain.
The Muk, charging forward to intervene, was met by Dratini, who launched a Dragon Breath. The attack was powerful, sending the Muk stumbling back. "Twister!" Ace ordered, and Dratini whipped up a spiraling vortex of wind and energy, sending Muk crashing into the cave wall.
With the Rockets' Pokémon struggling to hold their ground, panic began to set in. They reached for more Pokéballs, sending out even more Pokémon in an attempt to turn the tide as nearly 30 Pokemon appeared on their side.
Then, a chilling howl rang through the cave. It came from behind Ace.
A smile crept across Ace's face. 'It's time.'
With a burst of energy, Smeargle stepped forward,a rainbow aura swirling around him. The ground beneath his paws cracked as the power surged through him. His body radiated raw energy, every inch of him vibrating with unrestrained power due to all the stats increase except for the special attack and other moves which had other effects, which would have resulted in making this mode smeargle was training to be a complete mode instead of this imperfect mode.
"Smeargle, use Stored Power!" Ace commanded.
With a howl, Smeargle's aura expanded, forming a dome around him. The ground beneath him shattered, and cracks snaked out from his feet. The energy around Smeargle intensified, and in his paw, a shimmering ball of rainbow-colored energy materialized. It pulsed with raw power, each thrum of the ball sending tremors through the cave.
Ace grinned. This was the culmination of his hard work with Smeargle—the Overdrive Form, a state where his stats were maximized. It wasn't just a boost in power; it was the true potential of Smeargle, unlocked through training and sheer will. This was why he had chosen Smeargle, to unleash all the potential it had by using all the moves of the world!
The Team Rocket grunts and scientists backed away in fear, eyes wide with shock at the sheer energy radiating from Smeargle.
"Fire it, Smeargle!" Ace shouted.
With a roar, Smeargle unleashed the rainbow beam, sending the ball of energy hurtling toward the enemy. The beam tore through the cave, sweeping away every single Pokémon Team Rocket had sent out. The ground shook as the beam continued, punching a hole through the cave's ceiling, sending beams of light spilling into the cavern from above.
When the beam finally dissipated, Smeargle staggered, falling to his knees. The rainbow aura around him flickered and faded, leaving him exhausted. It had taken everything he had to unleash that amount of power.
Ace rushed to his side, a proud grin on his face as he patted Smeargles head while thinking. 'That was amazing, Smeargle. Just you wait—once we perfect this form, there will be no stopping us from fighting Red. But that will be in the far future, until then, let's keep this mode as a last resort while training harder to increase your physical power and Energy reserves.'
The girls watched in awe as Smeargle slowly recovered. They had heard about Ace's plan, but they hadn't expected such overwhelming power.
"That was incredible!" Serena exclaimed, her eyes wide in disbelief. "Smeargle's amazing!"
"I have never seen anything like this," Dawn added, her voice filled with admiration.
May nodded in agreement. "Ace, you're really something else. To come up with something like this."
But their victory wasn't without consequences. The Rocket grunts were scrambling, trying to comprehend what had just happened. Their Pokémon were all knocked out, their machines destroyed, and their data lost. Worse still, the Alpha Dugtrio, who had been restrained by chains, was now free, its angry expression filling the cave with a sense of impending doom.
One of the Rocket grunts muttered under his breath, "Can this get any worse?"
Before Ace could even react, the answer came in the form of Officer Jenny, who arrived with a squad of policemen. They swiftly surrounded the Rockets and scientists, ensuring no one would escape.
"Thank you, Ace, for sending out that distress signal," Officer Jenny said, giving him a grateful smile. "You've saved us from another disaster."
Ace simply nodded, his face still grinning. "No problem, Officer Jenny. Just doing what I can to help out."
The news of Team Rocket's arrest in Diglett Cave spread quickly throughout the Kanto region, offering a much-needed relief to the public. The organization had caused endless problems for years, and their defeat, especially by such a young group, was something to be celebrated. However, for Ace and the girls, things weren't entirely quiet. Their recent victory hadn't gone unnoticed, and some higher-ups took interest in them—one of whom was a renowned Dragon Master.
In Ace's previous world, he had even become somewhat of a meme due to his oddball ways and his affinity for flying types, despite being a "Dragon Master" by title. His main reason for showing interest in Ace, however, was his Dratini, the one gifted to him by Professor Oak.
Ace hadn't realized it yet, but this red/pink haired Dragon Master was already intrigued by the potential that Ace's Dratini held. The connection between Ace and Dratini was something that could open new opportunities and challenges—something that, both the Dragon Master and the towering Dragonite infront of him had been searching for.
