Capítulo 118: Ch-7 < Rescue k-423 >

With a few deft movements, Kevin disabled the security systems around the pod and pried open the heavy glass lid. The hiss of escaping air mingled with the soft hum of machinery as the pod's glass lifted, revealing K423. She stirred, her eyes fluttering open. They mirrored Kiana's blue hue but were clouded with confusion and fear.

"Who… you?" she whispered, her voice barely more than a breath.

Kevin noticed her difficulty in speaking and observed her closely. She appeared frail compared to Kiana, her skin lighter and her frame more delicate. Without hesitation, he rushed to her side. She flinched at his sudden movement, her small body trembling in fear.

Gently, Kevin scooped her up, holding her close against his chest. His embrace was reassuring, and he patted her head softly, offering comfort. "It's okay, you're safe now," he murmured, his voice soothing.

For a moment, K423 struggled, her instincts bracing against the unfamiliar. But as she sensed no threat from Kevin—only warmth and safety—she slowly relaxed, wrapping her arms around him in a hesitant hug. The tension in her shoulders eased as she began to trust the one who had held her.

Kevin's attention then shifted to the gem of Serenity, and carefully retrieved from the pod. Its dull sheen caught his eye, a stark contrast to the chaos unfolding around them.

Meanwhile, Siegfried had launched his attack on the most protected areas of the lab. With a swift strike, he destroyed critical materials and inserted the virus Einstein had provided. The virus would obliterate Schicksal's data, a significant blow to their operations.

But as he finished his task, alarms erupted throughout the facility, their blaring tones signaling their discovery.

Siegfried and Kiana were embroiled in a fierce battle against a fresh wave of Schicksal soldiers. The intensity of the fight surged, and Siegfried fought with a relentless determination, his actions a blur of precision and power. "Kiana, stay close!" he roared, dispatching enemies with ruthless efficiency.

Kiana, her small form agile and fierce, defended herself with her bat, deflecting incoming attacks with impressive skill.

Back inside the lab, Kevin acted swiftly. He activated the Key of Sentience, conjuring a powerful illusion that cloaked both himself and K423 from prying eyes. The guards who stormed into the lab saw nothing but empty space, their vision deceived by Kevin's power.

With K423 securely in his arms, Kevin navigated the maze-like facility, evading capture at every turn. The cacophony of battle grew louder, heightening his urgency. They needed to escape, and quickly.

Outside, Siegfried and Kiana were holding their ground but were beginning to be overwhelmed. Just as their situation seemed dire, the facility trembled as Anti-Entropy's mechs burst through the outer walls, their colossal forms cutting a path through the enemy ranks with brutal efficiency.

Kevin emerged from the facility just as the mechs engaged. He spotted Siegfried and Kiana amidst the chaos, their forms fighting valiantly toward the rendezvous point. "Siegfried, Kiana! Over here!" Kevin called out, his voice cutting through the clamor.

Otto, observing the situation from his office, received Amber's reports of the attack on the lab. His expression hardened as he processed the information. Without hesitation, he dispatched his elite squad, the Holy Order, to intercept Kevin and his group. These Valkyries, A-rank and among the best, were formidable opponents.

As the Holy Order's Valkyries arrived, Kevin held Kiana in one arm and K423 in the other. Siegfried moved ahead, clearing the way with his strength. The Valkyries, despite their rank, were no match for Siegfried's ferocity and skill. He swiftly subdued them.

The elite Valkyries, though strong, found themselves outmatched. Kevin showcased his prowess in combat as he leaped into action. He delivered a powerful kick to one Valkyrie and executed a roundhouse kick mid-air to another. As a Valkyrie lunged at him with a sword, Kevin deftly dodged and struck her with a forceful kick to the abdomen, sending her crashing into the distance.

Kiana's eyes sparkled with admiration. "That was so good, Kebin!" she exclaimed, her voice filled with awe.

Kevin made quick work of the remaining Valkyries, ensuring they were knocked out rather than harmed. "They're just following orders," he said, his tone empathetic. "They're protectors, just like us."

Siegfried, witnessing Kevin's incredible strength, marveled at the display. "Damn, he might be the strongest person I know," Siegfried muttered as he cleared the remaining Valkyries.

They swiftly moved towards the parked stealth aircraft, its engines already humming with power. Within moments, they were airborne, leaving the burning facility behind.

Inside the small fighter cabin, Kiana and K423, both with white hair and blue eyes, peered curiously at the world below. They resembled each other closely, save for Kiana's lively braids and the cautious K423 let her hair hang loose.

Kevin settled them on his lap, securing their seatbelts. Kiana's newfound enthusiasm for her sister led her to nuzzle against K423's face, her gestures filled with innocent affection. K423, though initially annoyed, soon accepted the gesture, tugging at Kevin's clothes for reassurance.

Kevin smiled warmly and gently rubbed K423's head. "Your sister is just showing you family love," he said softly.

Kiana's excitement was palpable. "Yeah, you look so cute! You'll call me sister from now on, okay? Sister K423!" she declared with a grin.

"I need to give you a new name too," Kiana added, her eyes sparkling with determination.

Meanwhile, in Otto's office, the Overseer's rarely visible emotions surfaced as he watched the footage. Realization dawned on him as he identified Kebin Kaslana had effortlessly subduing his elite squad.

"Launch the Honkai missiles," Otto ordered, shocking Amber with the gravity of his decision. "Will that destroy our allies as well?"

"Yes, but I'm confident Kebin will block the attack," Otto replied resolutely. The missiles were fired, their trajectory set towards the escaping aircraft.

In the cockpit, Kevin's gaze shifted skyward. "Damn, that madman fired missiles," he muttered.

Siegfried checked the detector, initially showing nothing before it registered the approaching threat.

"It's true," Siegfried confirmed, his voice tinged with dread. The memory of past conflicts resurfaced, fueling his anxiety.

"Let me handle this," Kevin said, placing Kiana and K423 gently in their seats. He stroked their heads reassuringly. "Be safe. I'll be back soon."

K423's eyes widened with concern. "Don't go," she pleaded, clinging to his clothes.

Kevin smiled softly, his resolve unwavering. "Don't worry. I'll come back. Your father and sister are here."

He turned to Siegfried. "Protect your precious daughters. I'll take care of the missiles."

Kevin leaped from the aircraft, soaring toward the missiles. As he reached them, he activated his ice powers, conjuring a massive sheet of ice that enveloped the missiles, freezing them instantly. The surrounding ground also turned into a vast expanse of ice, shimmering under the moonlight.

Kiana and K423 watched in awe as the atmosphere outside the aircraft turned white with frost. Their spacecraft, however, was struck by an ominous blue light, causing it to shudder and crash.

Kevin floated in the air, his eyes narrowing as the ice sheet spread, its crystalline surface reflecting the faint glow of the setting sun.

The missiles, frozen mid-flight, shattered like glass, sending shards of frozen metal cascading to the earth below.

The ground beneath him was covered in a thick layer of frost, stretching for miles—a testament to the power he wielded.

But his relief was short-lived.

From his vantage point, he saw a flash of blue. A strange light struck their aircraft, and Kevin's heart dropped. "No!" he muttered under his breath.

From his high vantage point, he could see everything unfold in an instant—the craft careening toward the ground, Siegfried struggling with the controls, and then… Kiana.

Kiana was blown from the aircraft, her small body tumbling through the air like a ragdoll. Her head hit the snow , sliding across the icy ground, leaving a trail of crimson behind her. Kevin's heart clenched as he saw her tiny form come to a stop. She was still, too still.

Kevin's instinct was to move, to save her, but he hesitated. Should I help them? The thought clawed at his mind, and he felt an internal struggle raging within him. To save her now would change everything, alter the course of the future.

His eyes darted between Kiana and the approaching Valkyries of Schicksal. They were closing in fast, and one of them, a tall Valkyrie with silver hair, reached Kiana first. She picked her up with surprising gentleness, examining the child's wound with a concerned expression. The silver hair Valkyries has worked with Kiana's mother.

Far away Kevin saw, the aircraft crashed into the snow with a deafening roar. Siegfried, dazed but alive, crawled out of the wreckage, dragging K423 with him. The young clone was frightened, clinging to his arm with wide, terrified eyes. Siegfried's face was streaked with tears, a father's anguish etched into every line.

"We have to go," he whispered to the young girl in his arms, voice broken. "We… we have to leave her." Siegfried conclude that her daughter has died.

K423's eyes widened with confusion. "Leave… sister?" she whispered, her voice a fragile thread in the cold wind.

Kevin's heart ached as he watched Siegfried stagger away, holding K423 tightly. Siegfried's back was slumped, his shoulders shaking with silent sobs. The grief of a father who believed he had lost his daughter. Kevin had to make a choice.

Kevin closed his eyes for a brief moment, gathering his resolve. He let out a slow, controlled breath. "Forgive me, Kiana…" he whispered, his voice lost in the wind. "But this is the only way."

The Valkyries named Ragna moved swiftly, carrying Kiana back toward their retreating aircraft, and Kevin did nothing to stop them. He watched, every muscle in his body tense, every instinct screaming to act, but he remained still. He had to trust the plan. He had to trust that this was the path that would lead to a better future.
