Chapter 31: Shoei Baro

After Aizen and his team returned to the locker room, many media workers had no intention of continuing to watch the rest of games. It wasn't because they were incompetent but because they all wanted to follow up on Aizen's performance. They headed to the locker room corridor, waiting for Aizen to come out for an interview.

After Aizen's first game, these media practitioners were still unsure if he was a true contender. In every competition, many players have a hot streak in one game, leading to brilliant results. Once the streak ends, they return to mediocrity. In fact, many were skeptical about Aizen after his first game. They thought he might just be another player who had a lucky day. After all, Aizen was already a third-year junior high school player, yet they had never heard of him before.

Moreover, their research revealed that Aizen had always been a minor player on his team during his three years in junior high school. This history made them doubt Aizen could maintain such a high level in future games. But after this game, the reporters were convinced. Aizen wasn't an ordinary player. From his control of the court, they could tell his skill level was much higher than his opponents.

The reporters were thrilled. They had been covering junior high school basketball for years and were growing tired of it. Every year, Teikō won again. Initially, people were amazed by the strength of the "Miracle Era." Eventually, it became routine—Teikō winning was expected. This predictability caused the reporters to lose their passion for writing about the games. Every article about Teikō's games became just a string of cold statistics.

But now, things were different. Aizen's appearance gave them hope in the long-silent junior high school basketball world. Some reporters began to wonder what would happen if Jianguang faced Teikō. While they were just speculating, they didn't truly believe Jianguang could compete with Teikō, the undisputed king of junior high school. Even with a phenomenon like Aizen, they believed no one could compare to the "Miracle Era." Not even Aizen.

...

As expected, Aizen and his team were blocked again when they walked out of the locker room. This group of reporters mainly besieged Aizen, making the Jianguang players a bit envious. However, Aizen was genuinely annoyed by the attention. He didn't know where these reporters came from or how they could so easily appear in the player corridor. Wasn't the event organizer managing it?

Finally, everything was over, and the team left the stadium. Everyone felt fulfilled. They had won another big victory, and all the players on the field were very involved. Aizen's passes were incredible. Almost the moment his teammates appeared in the open space, he could pass the ball to them. All they needed to do was catch the ball and shoot.

In this game, Aizen had to complete a task, so he didn't focus much on attacking. As a result, Dahe scored 46 points, the highest in the game. This amazed all the players. Even Dahe himself couldn't believe it. After playing with Aizen, he managed to get the highest score in the team.

Dahe laughed wildly: "How is it? 46 points." He looked around provocatively, especially at Shota.

Shota's face was gloomy: "If Aizen hadn't taken care of you and passed you so many balls, could you have scored?"

Shota was unhappy with Dahe's arrogance, but he was more dissatisfied with his own performance. He was suppressed by Kira throughout the game, even with Aizen restraining the opponent. This made him play uncomfortably, and Aizen didn't pass him many balls. Aizen always took the safest passing route, and if there was a better choice, he would pass to someone else. This made Aizen seem cold once the game started. He played too reasonably and didn't hog the ball.

As everyone argued, Aizen came over, and Dahe toned down his attitude. He knew that his high score was thanks to Aizen. He didn't want to stand out too much in front of Aizen because he wanted more passes in future games.

Aizen glanced at Dahe, then smiled warmly at his teammates: "Everyone, we won the game without any danger! But we can't be careless. The next games will be soon. So, no celebrations tonight. Go back and rest well. Once we qualify, we'll celebrate! Let's keep it up!"

Everyone agreed. They had consecutive games ahead and couldn't afford to exhaust themselves.

"Come on!"

"Come on!"

...

Everyone left the field and went home. Once home, Aizen couldn't wait to check his task rewards.

[Ding! Mission completed. ]

[56 assists in a single game, successfully surpassing Akashi Seijuro's record of 41 assists. Rewards are issued. ]

[Successful issuance: one draw.]

Aizen was looking forward to it. His first two draws were fruitful, and the rewards were very practical. He wondered what he would get this time.

"Start drawing!" he commanded.

A large roulette wheel appeared before him, spinning faster and faster. Many rewards that made Aizen envious appeared on it but were missed. Finally, the roulette wheel stopped, pointing to a character.

[Drawing completed: Baro-King's Domain]

[King's Domain: Greatly improves dribbling and shooting ability, as well as shooting talent. The current shooting rate is marked as percentages on the entire court]

Aizen was momentarily confused by the result, but then he showed an excited expression. Baro was a character known for sharp offense. The skill given was related to offense, which Aizen lacked. He carefully analyzed the skill details and felt it was incredible. It improved his shooting ability and talent and displayed the hit rate of each spot on the court. This allowed Aizen to choose the most stable shooting points in advance.

Excited, Aizen couldn't wait to start the next game.
