Gabriel stepped up, holding her hand, and pulled up a chair to sit in front of her.

"What else has he said? I mean, how come he recognises you and your mother?" he asked.

"I'm not sure," she said, her brow wrinkled.

It was shocking to see someone seeking for her merely to deliver her this letter written by her mother, but what surprised them even more was that the letter itself did not appear to be old enough to have been written a long time ago.

Eveline was busy sorting her thoughts when she turned to look at the envelope and hastily reached out to grab it.
