Eveline got out of the car, clothed, and strolled around before leaning on the bonnet.

After a while, she spoke.
"Dad had been lying constantly, but why? What drove him to take the path of lying and continue manipulating everything regarding Mom's death?" she asked, darting her gaze towards Gabriel.
Gabriel was quiet, but her words reverberated in his head, and he responded.
"Perhaps he was protecting someone. Or was I trying to protect someone?" He abruptly said something, prompting Eveline to frown in perplexity.
"He loved his wife, his family and when she died what was left to protect?" She inquired, and her feelings began to surface.
