Eveline hastily exited the building, choosing a different route so as to avoid running into Gabriel as she soon emerged through the college gate.

She just wanted to get it over with quickly so she could get back to the college on time and avoid answering Gabriel's question.

Eveline got onto the bus and drove to the locality where Gracey lived. She learned that Gracey was the eldest child and had a younger sister. Her parents owned a small bakery, but their income was insufficient to pay for their daughters' educations.

Despite being aware of her family's circumstances, Gracey persevered and was awarded a scholarship, which allowed her to enroll at Aspen University, a reputable institution that aimed to open doors for its students in the future.

However, since her reputation was now in jeopardy, there was no way the professor could even suggest she be hired by a company.
