The hurried footsteps of doctors and nurses came and went in the room. Emily is in bed, and a nurse is giving Emily an injection. The clear liquid trickled slowly through the thin needle into Emily's veins, as if injecting her frail body with a hint of life. The doctor was whispering something to Adam.

When the room was finally quiet, Adam slowly walked over to Emily's bedside, he asked with concern, " Are you feeling better now?"

" Yes." Emily replied softly. The pain in her abdomen had subsided considerably by the time the nurse gave her the injection. But she still held her hand over her belly, as if to protect the new life inside her.

" The doctor said that this belongs to early pregnancy bleeding." Adam's eyes inadvertently swept over Emily's belly, and he frowned slightly, " Did you know you were pregnant?"
