Capítulo 49: Xenovia Quarta Intro
Late that night.
Irina Shidou, called by Rias, informed her she would be going out in the middle of the night. She sneaked into Kuoh Academy, which was eerily quiet, unlike the bustling daytime.
Walking through the creaky old school building, she reached her destination, the Occult Research Club room. She knocked on the door and entered to find a few women inside.
"What did you call me for, Rias?"
"Don't be in such a hurry. I'm sure you've noticed, right? It's not just me, they also have a bit of Mitarai's aura."
Inside were Rias, Akeno, and Asia. Since it was late, there were no sweets, but the room was filled with the pleasant aroma of herbal tea.
Drinking herbal tea was a thoughtful gesture, avoiding caffeine at night. Despite approaching summer, the old school building was a bit chilly, making the warm tea especially enjoyable.
"So, there were multiple devils... I see, you meant Akeno and Asia."
"Yes and there's more, and I am his... Oh, I mean Takashi Mitarai's woman." Says Akeno.
"Yes... I am also one of Mitarai's harem." Asia added.
"Now you understand why I called you, right? Mitarai's has a huge harem of beautiful women and more will be joining along the way, I'm sure of that! Said Rias taking a sip from her cup.
"That's why I need your cooperation to protect the ones we love, Irina Shidou," she added.
"You're being too cold, Rias. I can't live without him anymore. I'd do anything to have him by my side forever." Rias's Queen nodded.
"I will too! I may only be able to heal, but if I can help in any way..." The innocent girl also laid her point of view to the open.
"He's my sanctuary, even in my broken state. I won't let anyone who doesn't understand that take him from me." Irina agreed with the girls and settled everything up.
"Hehe, you really are the woman he's chosen. Even usually timid Asia is willing to get fired up for this. However, there's not much we can do at this stage. Even though I'm the heiress of the Gremory Clan, I'm still just the next head of the family. I don't have the power or authority to protect him absolutely. That's why I want us to train secretly."
The crimson-haired girl snapped her fingers.
A mysterious space appeared where there had been nothing before, with a shimmering door-like object in the middle of it.
"This is a space transfer magic using my power. It connects a predetermined point to my current location. If you go through this door, you'll arrive at the Gremory family's territory in the Underworld. My maid is there, and she will train you. I've already spoken to her, and her abilities are recognized by the Maou. If you can endure her training, you'll definitely become much stronger. And yeah before I forget she's also one of Mitarai's women. So be careful," Rias warned Irina.
Normally, moving between the human world and the Underworld where devils live requires special pathways. However, Rias made it possible with her power called the Power of Destruction.
Rias has an extraordinary talent for this power, even surpassing her brother, Lucifer, in this regard. By removing the negative aspect of destruction and balancing it to zero, she created a unique space magic.
However, it uses half of her magic power each time she uses it, but with practice, she should be able to use it with less magic power.
"For now, the training will last for a week. If everyone disappeared at once, it would cause issues with the school and managing Kuoh. So, Akeno and I will go first. We'll return in a week, and then Irina and Asia will go to the Underworld. Just be careful. My maid might train you rigorously without holding back."
With that, Rias and Akeno stepped through the mysterious door and disappeared.
Left in the clubroom were Irina and Asia, both former members of the church. They chatted for a while before heading home.
Two and a half weeks later, Yuuto Kiba, one of Rias's peerage, went missing. He had personal feelings about holy swords and was thought to be acting alone, but no one expected him to actually do it.
The four who had been trained by Rias's maid, Grayfia, had become much stronger. Without needing to shake hands, they could now gauge each other's abilities. Irina learned how to handle a greatsword.
Although Galatine is originally a one-handed sword, it was too heavy for Irina, so she wielded it with both hands like a sword-master in her own way.
"Here, Mitarai-kun. Today's lunch." Irina said.
"Thanks. I'm off."
"Have a good day." She added.
After seeing him off to school, Irina Shidou quickly finished her household chores.
She wanted to spend more time with him, but she couldn't ignore the presence of the fallen angel Kokabiel, the thief, who was lurking around. They had identified him but hadn't found his hiding place yet.
After the Rating Game Rias and Akeno agreed to tell all the girls to let Takashi have some rest and peace in the upcoming months, Ilulu and Grayfia agreed right away to let him live the human life he once had and enjoy the peaceful days he sought.
Walking through Kuoh town, Irina kept Galatine ready. She wore her favorite hooded coat, enchanted with magic to avoid suspicion, even though it was nearly summer. The coat was also enchanted with cooling magic, making it comfortable despite its appearance.
After checking some less crowded areas, she decided to have lunch at a restaurant in the shopping district. The district was bustling with housewives, not a place a fallen angel would likely choose.
"Irina... is that you? Hey, Irina! It's me, Xenovia."
"Huh? Xenovia, long time no see. What's up?"
"What's up?! Every day has been a nightmare since you left the church without a word, leaving the holy sword behind! Don't you feel any remorse?" said the bluenette girl.
"Hmm... Well, I do feel sorry towards you personally, Xenovia. I apologize for leaving without telling you, my partner."
"You should have said that from the start, you fool. So, what are you doing in this town? Without the holy sword and the blessings of our Lord, you are powerless."
"Sigh... You still only see things from one angle. Why am I here? Simple. I'm working with the town's overseer to find a certain fallen angel."
As she was checking out different stores, Irina was approached by an old acquaintance. She couldn't just ignore her, so she decided to deal with it, even though it was exhausting.
Having been around Asia, Grayfia, and Mitarai lately, who were easier to talk to, made it especially tiring. Xenovia, her former partner from her church warrior days, was a girl with blue hair and a tomboyish manner of speaking. She was a natural holy sword user, a secret she had only shared with Irina. Their meeting was likely fated. While Irina still held some faith, she no longer blindly believed as she once did.
That's why Irina found Xenovia somewhat bothersome.
"I see. I never thought Irina would awaken as a natural holy sword user. But how does that lead to cooperating with devils, a high ranking one especially?"
"Listen... Even if I were still a church warrior, it would have been much more difficult if you and I came to this town together. Our opponent is Kokabiel, the fallen angel mentioned in the Bible. We, as inexperienced warriors, wouldn't stand a chance against him. Even if we somehow won, we'd be severely injured at best, and lose our limbs at worst."
Xenovia sighed and said, "Ugh... But you never know unless you try. You can't win if you give up before you start."
"What a dreamer you are. I refuse. I'm cooperating with Rias-san to find Kokabiel's hiding place." Irina answered.
They entered a family restaurant. Irina quickly scanned the menu and ordered an omelet of rice that looked delicious.
Xenovia's forehead vein bulged at Irina's negative comments, but Irina ignored her. While she worried about Xenovia getting involved, she saw it as her own fault for rushing into danger.
Before meeting Mitarai and learning the truth, Irina might have fought alongside Xenovia. Now that she had someone she wanted to be with, she wasn't willing to take such reckless risks. She didn't want Mitarai to worry, and she didn't want to suffer needlessly, she wanted these peaceful days to last forever.
"I never thought you'd become so spineless. I'll be taking my leave now." Xenovia stood up with a loud bang.
Irina casually waved her off and dug into the omelet rice that had arrived. The fluffy eggs and demi-glace sauce were a perfect match, making for a delightful taste. The ketchup-flavored rice was also well-seasoned, creating a harmonious and satisfying dish.
Later on…
Kokabiel was captured. Rias, her peerage, and Irina, the collaborator, were called to Kuoh Academy for a late-night battle.
Irina's past as a church holy sword user was revealed to Kiba through Xenovia, causing a bit of drama, but they reconciled with the help of his old friends.
Thanks to Galatine, Irina came out of the fight unscathed. However, her former partner, Xenovia, was mentally shattered.
Kokabiel had announced before the battle that the God mentioned in the Bible no longer existed, shocking Xenovia, a devout church warrior, into inaction.
Asia Argento was similarly shocked but quickly recovered and encouraged her comrades, using the support magic she had learned during training.
All this happened while Takashi Mitarai was seduced by the lewd dragon girl into an empty storage room and demanded him to fuck her brains out, of course, Mitarai didn't succumb to her wish since she was a slave and he was her master.
After she begged him kneeling under his feet the Red Dragon Emperor fucked her so roughly and took a picture of her while making Ahegao Double Peace Face.
