"Oh… I have a bad feeling about this." Kai repeated in his mind, while he walked to an isolated spot so he could easily answer the call.
He hid himself inside of an empty classroom.
He made sure that nobody was following him.
The phone was still ringing but even though he was alone, he knew that still had to carefully choose his words.
"Yes?" He said on the phone with a friendly tone of voice, like he was talking to a member of his family.
"Kai. This is serious." The detective said.
The young man's heart felt a tight grip for an instant after hearing the detective's voice being so serious.
"Yes, father? What is it?" Kai spoke, still with a fake smile on his face.
The Detective probably understood his situation and continued to speak.
"Let's say that there was a murder case of a taxi driver. A testimony saw a red haired woman running away from the scene, and the police is now searching for any kind of evidence." The detective Saito said.
Kai immediately understood who he was referring to.
"Mmh, she was at home with us yesterday. She made us dinner." He tried to say, sounding as natural as he could.
After a brief moment of silence, the detective spoke again.
"They found a stolen car not so much distant from your house. Are you sure that you don't know anything? I'm asking because I can easily manipulate the investigation." Saito said.
Kai thought about what to say for an instant , while looking around him.
"Okay, can I call you later ? Now I'm at school." With that, he implied the fact that he would've investigated.
"The victim was a member of the Kobayashi dragons. Yuki Nakamura now thinks that it was Hina's fault. Moreover , the car near your house can be a proof, since is close to where Hina's house is." Saito said, implying that there was no time.
Kai's eyes widened after hearing these words.
Another murder.
But Hina was with him, so she was not the culprit.
Akira was probably the one who did that.
"I think yes. But I was sleeping so I forgot to turn on the washing machine and wash the clothes." Kai said, with anxiety in his voice.
Suddenly, he started to feel a strange sensation in his heart.
He felt watched.
Like someone was peeping on him.
"Okay, don't do anything harsh. This call has never existed if someone asks, okay?" Saito said, before hanging up the call.
Kai didn't even have the time to say "goodbye".
Then, after he put the phone back in his pocket, the classroom's door opened.
His eyes moved to the entrance.
"Hello, Kai." A cold voice said.
Kai's eyes widened at the sight of him.
But deep down, he expected him to be there.
With a cold but friendly voice, Kai replied.
"Oh, hello, Haruto." Kai said.
"Uhm, is everything alright? I saw you hurrying and it got me worried." He said, trying to be polite.
Kai nodded his head.
"Yeah. It was just my father… I had my aunt at home and she made us dinner. She then criticized me to my father because I forgot to do the laundry." He said.
"Oh. Okay." Haruto said, while scratching his chin.
"Now, if you excuse me, I have to see Naomi… festival organization is difficult." Kai said, while walking past him.
He couldn't stand any more second in the same room with him.
His face only brought anger to his soul.
A big murderous intent, considering what he did to Yuna and Naomi.
Kai was trying his best to suppress his feelings for the sake of his friends.
Haruto didn't stop him.
Instead, he looked his figure leaving the room with a malicious smirk on his face.
When Kai was enough distant from him, he spoke to himself. "Why are you so complicated to understand? You're the only threat to my plans." These were his words.
Meanwhile , Kai walked towards the place where he had to meet Naomi.
To be more specific, he was going to the outside area of the school, where's the border with the old building.
Since the school had the plan of "cleaning" the zone from its bad reputation, that year's festival would've been something very big.
So the organization would've been difficult.
Kai walked and walked, trying to dissipate the wave of anger he felt.
He took some deep breaths , until his steps lead him to the designated area.
