Selena's POV
I watched in silent clunged to Stevie, I didn't understand anything the elders were saying, all it seemed was like, the man that abducted me is my father. No I don't like him, he can't be my father.
" Well congratulations, now that you found the girl from seven years and child you can now live in peace, you seriously want to give your family an heir right, I suggest get married and have kids before it's too late for you" mommah said to the bad guy.
" We can file a lawsuit against you Ms Thayer, you are not allowed to keep a father away from his child for years or even cut of their relationship, so you better think carefully, you can go away peacefully and we would compensate you for the seven years, name your price. I know you are a rich woman, but I want to buy my child from you" the bad man said, buy, am not a commodity in the market and mommah would never sell me off, even Stevie wouldn't allow that.
Mommah gave the bad guy a very big slap that threw his face sideways. " Do you think my daughter is something you can pay for, not even your life can pay for a hair on her body. You want to pay me for the seven years right, can you pay me the pain of Labor, the kicks, sickness, mood swings, the pain of the first feeding. Can you pay for my sleepless nights, my worry when she is sick, can you pay for my love, for the way I love and raised my daughter, the whole world put together can never pay a mother for her child, it's too small compared to a single moment of pregnancy, childbirth or parenting, so don't you ever dare think of buying my daughter again or else you would become a boneless creature" mommah said with a kind of anger I had never seen before.
" No he can't pay for it all, only a mother understands the heart of another mother, men are just too naive of what been a mother is, so don't mind the foolish boy. Listen to me Aria Thayer, you are Selenas mother, and you have the first right to her, I would never ask you to separate from your daughter, but please don't separate my son from his daughter and me from my grandchild" the old woman said.
" Mrs Donton, I would like you to please refrain from addressing Selena as your grandchild, she is my daughter alone, when I decided to keep her, I told myself that she is my daughter alone. Your son is a man, he can get married to any woman and can bear kids and it wouldn't matter to him a bit weather one child is not in his life or not. But for a mother every child matters especially the first child, and I won't even think of sharing my daughter's love with anyone, she is mine alone" mommah said.
" I know and I understand, you are still single right, my son is also single, and you both have a child together, a child usually unite two people, so why don't you try dating for your daughters sake, with that she would be able to get love of both parents and won't have to live away from one parent or with a step parent" the old woman said. Am not understanding any of the things this elders are saying, but I won't let my mommah be with this bad guy.
" Are you suggesting I date a stranger I had a one nightstand with and knew for less than an hour in Total, then am sorry to say you are wrong, that's not my style, I will date someone of my choice at my place, I hope you understand Mrs donton" mommah said.
" Am not saying you should date right away. Look my dear, you lost your mother at a young age, the whole upper class knows of the death of Eve Thayer, you are a mother yourself then think of this mother also. I have less than five months in this world, if I don't get a heart transplant soon am likely to die, before I die I just want to see my son's life complete and I want to see my grandchild as well"
" You know very well that it's impossible to find a right wife, get married and even have a child in 5 months, do you want a mother to die with unfulfilled wish relating to her child, plz be kind to this sick old woman, you can try been friends, if you understand eachother you can date and even get married, then my wish would be fulfilled, plz help this old woman" the old lady cried and fell to her knees from the wheelchair, mom hurried to assist her but it was too late, she had already hit her head on the white tiled floor.
The bad guy, mom, Stevie and a few others helped her to the couch and someone called a doctor. Stevie called mom to the side and I could hear them talk.
" Aria, I seriously hope you aren't thinking of dating George, it's not a good idea at all, plz don't" Stevie begged.
" Steven, I don't want to either, but this woman, you saw how she was begging didn't you, and you heard about the condition she is in, I can't be so heartless to just watch a mother like that. You know after becoming a mother myself I wished I could go back in time and treated my mother better, but we all know it's impossible, maybe just maybe, God is giving me a chance to treat a mother better even if it's not my own mother".
" And Selena, I want to be more than enough for her, but I know I can never replace a dad in her life, so I would try to befriend George for Mrs Dontons sake and for my daughter, I hope you understand" mommah said. No am not happy, I don't want mommah to he with that bad guy.
" Am I not like a father to Selena, I know you want to be kind and do something you don't want to for a mother's sake, but do you think it's ok to overlook your own.., your own expectations for that, Aria we can not always satisfy people but atleast we should be satisfied ourselves right, am there for Selena and with me she would never have to feel that she doesn't have a father, trust me on that" Stevie said as he placed his hand on mommahs shoulder.
" I know Steven, you have always been there for Selena ans she never felt like she had no father, but the truth is you aren't her father, you would also get married and have your own life then, you wouldn't always be there for Selena, so just let me try this, after all you were complaining just a few days ago that I have no man in my life, maybe he can be the man, we just need to trust him" mommah said with a smile, but it's not a happy smile.
" Ok Aria, as you wish, you can do whatever it is you want, just know that in the end, I would always be there for you and Selena whenever you need. You stay here with your new family, and I would go and inform the others about what's happening here, be safe and call me whenever you need" he said as he left mommah, he stopped by me before leaving.
" Sel, sweetheart, take care of your mommah would you, call me whenever you need, bye" he said and walked out.
