~~~June 1942~~~
~~~Tharlan Shores, Xandar~~~

"How the fuck don't those ships get destroyed!"

The Japanese soldiers aboard the destroyers were not prepared to face mystical forces, let alone ones that used troops such as magic, an art unknown to many but no less powerful and dangerous for that.

It was demonstrated when three destroyers were destroyed just at the beginning of the combat, all by a single ship: the scorpions used by the Xandarian vessels. However, they did not operate with intelligent systems like the cannons or turrets of the Japanese destroyers, nor did they have a steering system or attack accuracy as precise as modern weapons. They proved to be a nightmare for the Japanese.

Scorpion bolts were fired continuously, with four or six launched from a single ship at the same time, and although they were being fired using only the human eyesight of the unsullied in charge of the guns, that didn't make it any less lethal.

Partly because it didn't matter if only two bolts hit a destroyer, since those two bolts would be more than enough to destroy a ship armed with various enchantments that made it super-lethal on contact once fired, meant that the steel defense of the destroyers would not be enough to stop such an attack.

The result? Two destroyers were sunk early in the battle with only three scorpion bolts, and the numbers would continue to climb if the Japanese ships did not get some method of defense against the power the arcane forces had. But how would that be possible? They had no mystical forces or supernatural abilities to combat the terrifying power of such attacks, so the moment the soldier attacked Marggy, his defeat was written in stone.

"Another ship has been sunk!"

The fourth time, that was the fourth time Vice Admiral Hiroake heard that another ship had been sunk, making the face of the man in charge of the fleet grow increasingly sour, "Vice Admiral Hiroake, we managed to identify our position!"

Amidst the despair and the din of cannons and turrets firing at the top of their lungs, a single sentence restored the calm Hiroake had lost.

"Report!" he ordered immediately, moving to where the soldier typed on his communicator monitor. We are below the equator line, 1300 miles from the American base Pearl Harbor, sir. The aircraft carrier Hōshō is approaching to rendezvous with us accompanied by two battleships and six destroyers."

Hiroake nodded, with joy in his heart, that they had already been able to contact the Empire and receive reinforcements. However, as he watched the periphery from the command bridge, he understood that the reinforcements would not arrive in time.

"Transmit to the remaining ships to cease crossfire and to communicate to the enemy ships that we surrender," the vice admiral said suddenly, causing indignation in the room.

"But Vice Admiral, we can't do that; it is a sacrilege to our honor."

"We will be executed if we do that."

"I'll take all the blame if it means keeping us alive!" shouted Hiroake, silencing all those protesting, "we can't go against those things. We have to wait for the Hōshō carrier fleet to arrive, and we can have a fighting chance."

----

"General, the foreign ships have ceased their attack response," unsullied on the flagship in charge of leading the small fleet tasked with intercepting the Japanese ships, had the new movements of the Japanese vessels relayed... Or lack thereof.

General Harwin watched from the command room as what his soldiers had been told came to pass. The four battered and smoking ships did not attack again, meaning they had run out of ammunition or had surrendered.

He didn't have to wait long; however, as soon as the voice of the foreign ships' crews could be heard, "Hibiki Destroyer here, fleet leader, we call out to broadcast our surrender!"

Harwin was momentarily unsure how to proceed. The surrender could be truthful, although it could also be a method of deception. Nevertheless, Harwin had to make a decision quickly.

"I want two ships to approach each foreign vessel and board them. Be alert when approaching them; it may be a ruse."

With the orders given, eight of the twelve ships began to approach the Japanese destroyers, with scorpions ready if needed, while the Japanese soldiers got a closer look at the strange ships.

Being closer, they could see that they were steel or some metal alloy ships, but that was as far as the similarities between the two sides went.

On the one hand, the Japanese destroyers had boilers through which smoke was constantly released. At the same time, the Xandarian ships did not, creating unknowns about the method of propulsion they used to move their ships forward, mainly since they used the well-known paddle-steam fuels, which had been discontinued years ago.

"They are boarding," in the control room of the Hibiki destroyer, the soldiers watched helplessly as unsullied jumped from the Xandarian ships and landed on the ship's deck, noting that they also wore medieval armor, only sturdier and with different designs than the one used by the beings who called themselves witches.

Some forty figures boarded the ship, going to its machine guns and using their hands to bend the guns' barrels, rendering them unusable. "Who's in charge of this ship!"

The silence lasted for a few seconds, during which time the pressure of the unsullied was making the ship feel more and more, mainly because their armors, which, although they looked like they were taken from a cosplay, were very well-made, together with the fluorescent glow they had, gave them a mystical air to each one.

"It's me!" At that, Vice Admiral Hiroake stepped out from among the soldiers, walking with his head held high and showing no weakness. Showing the pride of a high-ranking member of the Japanese military.

[Emā iā hen naejot gaomagon, Bisa ȳdrassis va Ēlīedar] The immaculate man spoke, removing his helmet and revealing his face.

"The general says you have a lot of explaining to do, foreign invader," another immaculate said. Seeing that Hiroake did not understand and that he bore some physical resemblance to the Jhogos Nhai, they decided to speak to him in the language spoken by them.

Although Hiroake did not understand the strange language, he managed to understand what the other man said, which made him sigh. He knew that they would become captives from now on, at least until the reinforcement fleet arrived to free them.

[zirȳ se gūrogon larȳ naejot se nakes, kessi sagon ondoso se āeksio hen tharlan ēva se Jaes!] The general in charge ordered the capture of all surviving crewmen and took them to Tharlan, where they would be brought before the city court, pending further orders from Azrael.

With the orders given, the Unsullied, characterized by their excellent discipline and control when acting due to their training, something that had never stopped even after being released, was determined to take the Japanese soldiers and accompany them toward the Xandarian ships, where they were already waiting for them, to then place handcuffs on them.

"Take your hands off me!"

Even among fearsome-looking men who demonstrated skills beyond what a human could do, there were still Japanese soldiers who refused to be captured, with many presenting trances to avoid being subdued. Creating minor altercations between the Unsullied and the Japanese soldiers.

"The empire will come for us! So set us free, and you will have mercy once the empire's forces arrive."

"You don't know what a mistake you are making. You will all die once the empire arrives, all of you...!"

Amid the altercations, cries of dissatisfaction were displayed, resulting in many Japanese soldiers resulting in being knocked unconscious as they received blows to the back of their necks by the unsullied.

"ROOOOARG!"

Suddenly, a thunderous roar, a sound that was heard much louder than even the gunfire from the destroyers' turrets, a sound that even caused the sea to churn and the sky to turn gray, as if the mimic weather was preparing for what was to come.

The roar was so loud that many Japanese soldiers fell to their knees, covering their ears. Suddenly, a gigantic shadow covering all the ships below, both Japanese and Xandarians, could be noticed. This added more mysticism to what was approaching, along with terror and fear in the hearts of the Japanese, who had never witnessed anything like this.

Before long, out of the gray clouds, a colossal creature emerged from the cloud steppe, fully revealing itself as a giant dragon, much longer than a destroyer ship. Its purple wings cast a vast shadow wherever it passed.

Endoxes, who had arrived along with Azrael, flew towards Tharlan since they saw that there was no longer any danger. A confused Azrael decided to reach the city to wait for the crews of those ships flying Japanese flags.

"Seiryū."

For the Japanese, resistance was behind them, replaced by awe, half, and terror, as many of them knelt and said the name Seiryū repeatedly.
