Suddenly, Set who had been quiet for a while spoke again, "Damses, my chosen priest, you should know, the desert will soon be overtaken by plains."

Damses tensed. He had heard such rumors from traders and caravans, though no signs of such transformation were evident near their oasis. He had forbidden the spread of these tales, fearing the damage they might do to the prestige of his god.

Yet here was Set, affirming the very change he had denied. "I have heard of it," Damses admitted reluctantly, "but I believed it to be a lie. The desert will not turn into a plain."

"It's not a lie," Set interjected firmly. "Most deserts will indeed become plains. It's just that your water and grass oasis is not within the scope of this change."
