Capítulo 97: A Family Outing - 2
I swear... With Lisa coming up with the idea of putting Shiro on her lap, it's making me a bit nervous. I know I'm confident in my driving skills as I learnt from Lisa herself, but if I slip and and get us in a crash, I can totally see Shiro flying through the windscreen. Well, as long as Lisa holds onto her it should be fine.
"Ah~ Shiro, you're so warm~" Lisa ends up snuggling Shiro tighter.
I know it's because of the hoodie that Shiro's wearing, but I can't help but get a bit irritated... If only Lisa was the one driving...
"Hey. You're driving us back, alright?"
"Ohh~ Is someone jealous hmmm~ Hehehe."
"You're a far better driver than me. Plus it's only fair for having tagged along."
"Fine~"
Good. At least with that now I can be the one to hold Shiro like that. Wait... I am jealous...
"Oh! Maybe we should teach Shiro how to drive one of these days!"
"Huh?" Shiro ends up looking towards me in a slight panic. It would be funny I'll admit it, but I don't really think that's necessary. If Shiro and I are going to be staying together, I really don't mind being the one driving everywhere.
"It's okay, Shiro. I can handle the driving, hehe."
"O-okay..."
Just remembering the time when I saw Shiro first step out into the outside world for the first time. I wish I could've seen her eyes at the time, but I bet they were wide open in awe. I'd rather have her focus more on enjoying the journey of the drive rather than having to deal with driving itself. Plus it's not like I hate driving anyways. Even though I can match the speed of cars when I run, even surpassing some, driving is a lot more easier and conserves a lot of energy. It's convenient.
Eventually, the drive would come to an end as we arrive at a mall, with countless people walking in and out. There's mainly humans around, but you still see some demi-humans walking about as well, maybe like a 1:4 ratio.
"Haah~ So we going to the mall, huh?" Lisa says after finally getting out of the car, closing the door behind her. Both her and Shiro move up to my side as we take in the sight together.
"What's a mall?" Shiro ends up asking. I really should've taken her here sooner.
"A mall is a collection of stores. Think of the store we went for you clothes in the other world, but much bigger."
"Oh! Speaking of clothes! I'm gonna buy some."
"Eh? Don't you already have enough clothes?" Lisa isn't really one to shop for clothes much either...
"Well who's fault is that? You wanted to leave in a hurry so I couldn't put on warmer clothes." She says as she starts holding her arms as a sudden breeze crashes against us. "Shiro, hold me~"
"O-okay."
With Shiro being the only one with a hoodie, Lis ends up using her as a make-shift warmer as we make our way inside the wall.
Once we make it inside, the wind obviously stopped as the temperature was slightly warmer than outside. That didn't seem to help Lisa however as she was still hugging Shiro's arm for warmth. Personally I'm fine with this much cold, but after seeing Lisa cling onto Shiro like that, I involuntarily hold Shiro's free hand. but when I go to check her reaction, I'm hit with the realization that she's wearing the mask. But just then, she turns my way, giving me a smile as we continue to walk.
"Okay, what store we hitting up first?" Lisa speaks out first, giving Shiro a bit more wiggle room.
"Well somewhere that has warm clothes would be nice."
"Oh? Are you offering to buy me clothes for your big sister?"
"No. For Shiro."
"Unfair~"
"Pfft."
And so, we make our way into one of the store nearby that had mannequins with some winter outfits on display. It was just a joke on my part about not buying Lisa clothes. I haven't really gotten her anything to apologize for nearly killing her. Plus, she did save my life, along with Shiro. I plan on doing most of the spending today.
Once inside, the three of us moved as a group, looking at many different pants and coats available. it was then that I noticed than Shiro legs are trembling slightly. Is she cold? Thinking so, I end up picking out some warm tights for winter. I know she said she doesn't like jeans, so she probably wouldn't like anything like that, but tights would world. They stretch really nicely so it should feel like a second skin for her. Yup!
"Shiro. Want to try these on?"
"Sure!"
"Ohh~ Alright, come on Shiro. I got stuff to try on as well!"
And just like that, Lisa takes Shiro to the nearby changing room as I continue to pick out some clothes for Shiro. As for Lisa, I'll just pay whatever she plans on picking out herself. If I tell her now that I'll pay for it, she'll end up picking out even more things.
"Hmm?"
Just then, I spot the shoe on display in the corner. Shiro's still wearing my second-hand shoes I gave her when we first met, so maybe it's about time I fix that... Ah, I'll also need socks! Oh! Wait, maybe some stocking would be nice as well for when we're at home! It'll be pricey with everything, but I have a lot of money saved up so whatever!
And so, I end up picking out many more things for Shiro, not knowing exactly how much money I'm about to spend...
