"Please enter your nickname."
"Damn it... How could I forget about this?"— Shiro said, her face expressing genuine surprise.
Shiro pondered over a nickname that would be unique and reflect her inner world.
"Damn, I've never been good at coming up with names for my characters in online games, that was always that little bean's job... Is there something like a button here to randomly generate a nickname?"
[System]: Are you sure you want to automatically generate a nickname?
Without hesitation, Shiro clicked "yes" and a new name flashed on the screen: "Useless administrator" She looked at the screen with surprise and disbelief.
"Are you mocking me, aren't you?" —she muttered to herself.
[System]: I don't understand what you're talking about. Generation occurs completely automatically, without any external interference.
"No interference? No intervention my arse! I don't believe you, you've got to be kidding me!!" —Shiro shouted loudly, with great dissatisfaction.
[System]: Do you agree to accept the nickname "Useless administrator"?
"NO!!!" — A scream echoed throughout the virtual space. If someone could look at Shiro right now, they would see how a black, oppressive aura began to emanate sharply around her.
[System]: Do you wish to repeat the random nickname generation procedure? — said the cold, robotic voice.
"Yes, this time, please, something normal!" Shiro said, while an even more oppressive aura emanated from her.
[System]:A new nickname has been generated for your request: "Clumsy".
[System]: The maximum number of random generations has been used. The name will be automatically set to "Clumsy." Wish you a successful training at the newbie camp!
"STOP, CANCEL, REFUSE, I DISAGREE!" — A cry echoed throughout the virtual space, then there was a flash of light, and Shiro disappeared from the room.
The bright light disappeared, and Shiro found herself again in the virtual hall, filled with other characters. Now she had time to contemplate everything that had happened to her, as well as come to terms with her new nickname. However, before she could take a step, a new screen appeared in front of her with a message:
[System]: Attention! This is a global notification for all new generation administrators. You will now undergo a training course. — said the cold male voice.
Shiro sighed, feeling her irritation gradually fading. "Okay, since I'm here, I'll have to go through this," she muttered, preparing for whatever lay ahead.
The screen flickered, and everything around her changed again. She found herself in a spacious classroom, similar to a lecture hall at a university, filled with other new creatures; the place was filled with representatives of various races. They all looked as bewildered as she did. On the platform in front of them stood a tall man in a strict suit, his gaze was as cold as the voice she had heard earlier.
— Welcome to the training course, — he began. — My name is Simon, and I am your mentor. Today you will learn what it means to be an administrator and what responsibilities await you. But before we begin, I would like to clarify: is there anyone among you who already has experience in managing chat groups? Shiro looked around. Several people raised their hands, but most, like her, kept their hands down. — Excellent .
— Simon continued. — Those who are new to this shouldn't worry. We will teach you everything you need to know. And for those who already have experience, you will learn about new features and capabilities available to administrators of interworld chat groups. Shiro listened attentively, trying to catch every word. She was eager to learn what was so special about these interworld chat groups and why she ended up here. — The first thing you need to understand, — Simon continued — is the importance of your role. Administrators not only manage chat groups but also ensure safety and order in the interworld space. You will resolve conflicts, assist newcomers, and conduct special events. With every word from Simon, Shiro felt her interest growing. She had much to learn and master, and she was ready to take on this challenge. — Now let's start with the basics, — said Simon, moving to the interactive board.
— Lesson one: creating and managing a chat group.
— As you all already know, before creating your own character, which you are using right now, an invitation appeared before you, in which the name of your chat group was pre-specified.
— This chat group was created "automatically" for your practice; you can either delete it later or leave it at your discretion.
Shiro closely watched every step Simon took, observing each word he wrote on the interactive board. His words were like a path into the unknown, and she was ready to follow them attentively.
— The first thing you need to know for proper management— Simon began, addressing the whole class.
— Is that your chat group - is your space. It's a place where you will meet users selected from across the multiverse, discuss important issues, resolve conflicts, complete tasks, and hold events. Here, you will build and manage your users.
— To maintain order within your chat groups, you will have the appropriate authority. Each of you can expel participants at your discretion, but keep in mind that once expelled, a participant cannot rejoin your chat group; however, they can still become part of another one.
While Simon continued his explanations, Shiro pondered:
{Why is no one saying anything despite us being so suddenly transported here?}
Right after she thought this, Simon paused his lecture for a moment and looked toward Shiro. Then, a voice sounded in her head:
— Administrator #7451, nickname 'Clumsy,' all your questions will be answered after the first lecture. For now, I strongly recommend that you do not get distracted as I will not repeat the material.
***Time skip
After Simon's admonishment, the lecture continued for another two hours. Then Simon set aside the stylus he had been using on the interactive board and addressed the audience:
— The lecture is over. You are free for today. The next lecture will be in three days. At a convenient time for you, a system window will automatically appear offering to join the training session. I strongly recommend not passing up this opportunity, as there will be no similar lectures if you miss them.
— That's all. Ask any questions you might have — Simon said in his familiar cold but strangely calming voice.
After Simon invited questions, several hands went up. Shiro also watched closely what was happening in the auditorium. She noticed one of the participants who had previously raised their hands when Simon asked about administrative experience now raised his hand again.
— Yes, please — said Simon, pointing to this participant.
"I have a question. What is the time ratio between the virtual space and reality? What happens in my world while I'm here? I was summoned here just as my plane was plummeting from 10,000 meters." The elderly man with gray hair asked.
Simon nodded, acknowledging the question.
— Excellent question — he said.
— To answer your question: Time in your world stops, and it will resume only after your return from the virtual space. I hope this explanation suffices, Administrator #4531."
"Yes, thank you, Mr. Simon" — replied the elderly man, as if he were no longer worried about being on a plane currently plummeting down...
Thus, participants actively asked questions, and Simon answered them, ensuring a thorough understanding of the upcoming tasks and responsibilities of the administrators.
— So, if there are no further questions, I believe I can… — Simon was interrupted by a voice before he could finish his sentence.
— W~wait, I also have a question," a girl awkwardly shouted, looking like a bookworm with huge bags under her expressive green eyes.
Simon looked at the girl incredulously, sighed loudly, and then said:
— Administrator #5631, the Q&A session has ended for today. You will be able to ask your questions at the next lecture.
After this, Simon snapped his fingers and disappeared from the auditorium as if he had never been there.
Following this, Shiro, internally shaking her head at everything that happened during and after the lesson, watched as the other class members dispersed. Some discussed what they had seen, while others, like her, silently pondered the new information. Meanwhile, the girl who couldn't ask her question was sadly hitting her head against the table, surrounded by a gloomy aura.
Observing her surroundings, Shiro couldn't help but notice the girl who was sadly hitting her head against the table. This sight brought a slight smile to her face and also evoked sympathy. She approached and gently touched the girl's shoulder.
"Hey, don't be so upset." — Shiro said, trying to sound encouraging.
"You'll be able to ask your question at the next lecture. We'll have plenty of opportunities to figure everything out."
The girl slowly raised her head and looked at Shiro with her big green eyes. "Yes, you're right" she sighed. "I was just so nervous... ༼☯﹏☯༽ "
Shiro sat down next to her. "I understand. My name is Shiro, what's yours?"
"My name is Tomoko" the girl replied.
[I've been working on the grammar a little bit, I hope it's not as terrible as in the first chapter (つ﹏<。) ]
