Chapter 4: Encountering a Titan
(The giant serpent's name is Jörmungandr for format's sake so that I don't have to use 'giant serpent' each time to address him.)
As Jörmungandr, the colossal serpent, swam through the ocean, his immense body displaced vast volumes of water, generating towering surface waves and turbulent currents that stirred up sediment from the depths, while his passage created a surge of splashing and spray that shot meters into the air, sending smaller marine creatures fleeing from the aquatic chaos as he stealthily approached the unsuspecting whale.
The whale, who had no idea that a giant serpent was sneaking up behind it, continued its peaceful swim.
However, as the giant serpent grew closer, the whale felt the disturbance in the water. Slowly turning, the whale saw a giant silhouette of what could only be likened to the gateway to the abyss. But it was too late.
The giant serpent was too fast; by the time the whale could react, the only thing it saw was the giant maw that had opened wide. And just like that, the whale was swallowed effortlessly.
This particular whale was not the only one that suffered such a fate, unfortunately.
The giant serpent had been in the sea for quite a while and had continued his voracious adventure from the land. In this vast body of water, he felt at home.
It had been one month since he set foot into the sea, and his growth had been staggering. From 130 meters to 160 meters, a colossal amount of growth from one month of hunting.
Today was his usual hunt. He would go around the sea, locate any kind of life, and devour it. That was the usual plan; however, as he was swimming around, he felt something huge and powerful detected by his echo sonars.
He turned his head, creating a small whirlpool from his movement, and looked in the direction in curiosity.
This was a first. The first time he felt something threatening, something entering his new territory, and as an apex predator, he would not tolerate such an intruder regardless of size.
The giant serpent swam towards the direction of the disturbance. It seemed the latter had also detected him and swam towards him. So, the two colossal monsters both headed for each other.
As Jörmungandr closed the distance, the water grew more agitated. The currents shifted violently, and the sea churned with the combined presence of these two behemoths.
Then, through the murky depths, he saw it—a massive, scaled figure, its outline imposing and unmistakable. It was a young Godzilla, not yet fully grown but already an immense and formidable creature.
Godzilla's eyes glowed with a fierce intensity as he sensed the approach of the giant serpent.
His dorsal plates, sharp and jagged, cut through the water like a row of knives. As the distance between them closed, the sea around them seemed to hold its breath.
Jörmungandr and Godzilla circled each other, their colossal forms causing the water to boil and roil.
The serpent raised his head, his eyes locked onto Godzilla's, both creatures exuding an aura of dominance and power. Godzilla let out a low, rumbling growl, a sound that reverberated through the water and sent ripples across the surface.
Jörmungandr responded with a deep, resonant hiss, his body coiling in readiness. The water around them vibrated with the sheer force of their presence.
Each titan measured the other, their instincts screaming that this was no ordinary opponent.
Godzilla's tail whipped through the water, creating a surge of force that pushed waves towards the shore.
Jörmungandr's coils tightened, muscles rippling beneath his scales as he prepared for a potential strike. The air was thick with tension, a palpable electricity between the two ancient beings.
For a moment, time seemed to stand still. Then, with a sudden, synchronized movement, they lunged at each other, the ocean erupting in a maelstrom of power and fury.
Their clash sent shockwaves through the sea, a titanic battle that would determine the true ruler of these waters.
This was the first time the giant serpent felt challenged. All of his kills were easy, over in a blink of an eye but this one put up a great fight.
ROAAAAARRR!!
The young godzilla roared, as Jörmungandr coiled around it using its bigger size to his advantage. However this giant lizard, as young as it may be, is not unfamiliar to a titan brawl. So it moved earlier not letting the giant world serpent cage him around its body.
Before Jörmungandr could trap the young godzilla, the latter already moved and used its powerful jaws to bite his tough scale.
HISSSSSSSSSSS!
Jörmungandr hissed in pain as he felt the sharp canine of the young titan bite through his tough armor.
Then like a lion biting a chunk of flesh from its prey the young godzilla pulled the bitten flesh away revealing the green blood and muscle of Jömungandr.
A splash of green blood surged from his wound blending through the water like a mist.
ROAAAAR!
For the first time Jörmungandr bled. For the first time in its entire life, it felt pain.
All this time he had been hunting the easy prey while the young godzilla was fighting Kong's and Muto's as well as other titans, not just here on earth but on hollow earth as well.
So the inexperienced Jörmungandr, despite its size, stood little to no chance.
This was the moment the young Jörmungandr realized he was not yet at the top.
HISSSSSSS!!
Jörmungandr backed away from the young godzilla. Creating a safe distance between the two of them.
As the two backed they exchanged roars and hiss with the young godzilla showing more fierceness.
All titans have an innate ability. Jörmungandr has too, the situation just doesn't require him to utilize it, that's why it has not been displayed.
But right now is the time to unleash it.
Jörmungandr swam around the young godzilla, circling it with his gigantic body. Then with his innate powers he controlled the water.
That's right, his ability is hydrokinesis. The ability to command the water as he pleases, that's also the reason why he can hunt much better in water.
ROAAAAAAARR!!
The young godzilla roared as the water around him twist and form a cyclone trapping him into a giant underwater hurricane.
ROAAAAAAAAAAAARRR!!
The young godzilla panicked. He swayed his tail with all of his strength but to no avail he didn't move from his place in fact he just continued to spin around.
Then as if spun around Jörmungandr jumped right into him, ignoring the powerful torrents and bit him right in the neck.
The young godzilla was swiped by his powerful maws as venom was injected into his entire blood stream.
This was the second ability of Jörmungandr. Toxikinesis.
The power to control poison. This ability involves manipulating poisons, toxins, and venoms, allowing Jörmungandr to generate, control, and even neutralize harmful substances.
With just one injection, the young godzilla went limp and paralyzed.
This was his win.
