Capítulo 10: CHAPTER 10: THE DREAMS AGAIN?

"What do you know about Aaron Malcolm's whereabouts?" I asked him seriously.

"You should leave, now. Before my agents see you here and question my leniency." He said in a low, but cold voice that made me shudder.

"Was it you? Behind those trees?" I asked pointing toward the tree where I had seen the shadow figure.

He stared at me for a moment, confused, then looked over his shoulder to see where I was pointing at. He again turned around to face me, still very close, and said in a sarcastic tone, "Maybe get some rest."

I rolled my eyes and opened my mouth to retort but he cut me off and continued, "Sam told me that there was a celebrity event today or something. I can understand if it was too exhausting."

I was completely baffled by his mocking. He still would not let me speak and said, "So, go home. And live the life you still have with the friends who are luckily still alive and well."

This time his voice was firm.

I was stunned to hear him say that because both of us knew exactly what that meant... It was the first time he had spoken of that incident. After some contemplation, I made up my mind to leave. I didn't ask him more about Malcolm.

"Alright, I'll get out of your territory." I said with a smile. Just as I lifted up my leg, he held my hand and stopped me.

"Are you sure you were born with a brain?"

"What's that supposed to mean!?" I shouted, offended.

"How exactly are you planning on getting out of my territory?"

'oh, I'm such an idiot. I don't have an extrional.' I thought biting my lips in embarrassment.

Then, he put his hands inside the pocket of the hoodie he was wearing and took it out. Ryle Mason's extrional. It seemed as if it belonged to actual royalty.

It looked similar to Ethan's, but it was gleaming more. Its edges were also still silver, but the small orb in the centre was clearly made of a super unique and really elegant ruby. I had seen it before, once, and it looked just the same then.

He tapped it and the portal opened up right away. He gestured me to walk into it. I did so. But I stopped right before it. I turned around once more and looked him in the eye.

"Thank you for helping me then... Thank you for being the reason I'm still here" I smiled sincerely.

He came close to me. Too close. My heart skipped a beat... His was face was barely an inch away from mine.. I closed my eyes...

I felt him. His cold, but soft lips on my cheek... I couldn't breathe. He stepped back. I let out a small gasp.

"What-"

"You're welcome, Kara." He nodded toward the still-glowing portal. I walked through it without more questions.

I couldn't process what had just happened. I couldn't believe it. The fact that this was the first time he had called me by my first name... Or tha he had just kissed my cheek.

'Ryle Mason?' I was already through the portal. I was standing on a sidewalk. I finally came to me senses, after a lady had bumped into me. She apologized and and went her way. I finally took a deep breath.

I was outside the building where Ellie and I had bought a condo. I slowly walked inside the building and then the elevator. I pressed the 3 floor button, zoning out.

'He kissed me.' 'why?'...

I knew Ryle had a condition that made him not be able to feel certain emotions. They include the feeling of love. 'So... Why?'

I was already inside the condo. It was still messy as ever. I went past the kitchen, and the living room, up the stairs and into my room. Without changing out of my dress, I just fell on my back onto the bed.

"No! This can't be real! Why?"

I was crying so hard, gasping for air. I was at a cemetery, sitting by a grave. "Please. This is all my fault. Bring her back!" I was sobbing uncontrollably.

It was raining hard. I was completely soaked in water, freezing. But i didn't care.

The gravestone read:

'HERE LIES, ELLIE SMITH.

BELOVED DAUGHTER AND SISTER.

"People are meant to leave one---"

The rest was cut off by the mud from my clothes because I had been hitting the gravestone, in the hopes that the person lying below may here me.

"I am so sorry!"

I heard footsteps behind me. Someone put a hand on my shaking shoulder.

"Come on, K.. You don't even know her.. Let's get out of here or you'll get sick."

It was Melody. I looked at her.

Her usually beautiful blonde hair, had dirt in them. Her blue eyes looked so worried. The umbrella in her hand wasn't helping much in stopping the cold raindrops from spraying her.

I didn't respond to her.

"Stop this, Kara!" She cried out. "Do you want to die of a bad cold? Get up! Now!"

I couldn't stop crying. It hurt so bad, but nobody would understand.

"Please! At least talk! Say something! Explain what this is all about. How do you know this person?"

"Mel. I.. am so..,so.. sorry." I hiccuped in between. "I just wanted my family back."

Melody bent down beside me. "You do have your family, K. We're with you. I am right here."

"That's the thing... You.. shouldn't be.. here" I barely managed to get those words out.

**

I woke up. 'it was a dream' I sighed... But it wasn't. It had actually happened. Ellie died because of me. Ryle was right. I should be grateful that my friends are still alive and well, despite my horrible fault.

'Ryle... Why would you do that to me' I asked myself remembering last night. It was already day. I could here commotion outside my room, and assumed, some of the members were probably here for breakfast.

I realized I had gone to bed in the new dress. I got out of bed and looked into the mirror. 'i look terrible ' I thought to myself.

'why am I getting those dreams again..?'
