Capítulo 3: Adapting
Him and the tree sentinel would not engage with each other for now. Kaylo, not ready to face such a foe took the long route around the sentinel with the Church Of Elleh as his target.
It wasn't far from his location. As he grew closer to the church of Elleh, he noticed particles of light all flowing toward the Church Of Elleh. "I can see the Site of Grace!"
The church was broken down. The walls were crumbled to the floor and all that was left of its humble appearance was the torn down rubble. He approached the grace and hovers his hand over it. It flashes a dim light and registers the Tarnished's presence.
"I'll need to use this area to level up for now." Right outside the Church Of Elleh was path into a forest. Kaylo waltzed down this path
"Hm? A Tarnished!!" A soldier that was on the path withdraws their longsword once they registered Kaylo was there.
"Right, they actually talk instead of grunting all the time."
With a sword in one hand the knight rushes at him. "Hrrah!!" An over the shoulder slash comes barelling down on his head. His pivot foot slides in an arc shape across the ground. The blade misses he steps back with this and dodged the attack.
"No hesitation either." Compared to the Tree Sentinel, these guys looked slow in comparison.
"This body seems to automatically know how to fight but I can't just rely on instincts right." His finger pushes the sword collar out of its scabbard. He pulls his sword out of its holster and swings it toward the ground.
The soldier continued his onslaught thoughtlessly. "Maybe I can use the Tree Sentinel as a reference for how to swing long range melee attacks." The shoulder brought down his sword onto Kaylo's left shoulder. But as he did so, his arms flung from his body. They drop to the ground and dyed the floor with his blood. "Aagh!!"
Blood sprays from his missing limbs. Kaylo was seen holding his sword near the end of its handle. "That cut felt pretty clean." He gripped the sword again by the portion of the handle near the sword guard. He swung again and the knight writhing in pain from the loss of his arms was decapitated. Small particles of light known as Runes enter his body. Kaylo swiped his sword at the ground to forcibly get rid of the blood. His forearm rubs the blood off after he wipes it between his forearm and bicep. He takes the mans sword from him. "I don't know what it is but a katana looks a lot more badass than a longsword like this."
The sword was placed into his inventory as he moved on to the forest at the end of the path.
The forest was littered with soldiers. But it wasn't an unbearable amount. And since they are all scattered in this small forest, it makes it easier to get rid of them.
Resting next to a campfire were two knights. They rest their hand on their weapon, as if they were ready to battle at any time. "Patrollin thine post afar from one's home is uncooth."
" Thee has't a home to wend backeth to? i envy thee."
The two knights relax as they are not patrolling their post at this time.
"And what land do you hail from?"
"Land Of The Scarlet Rot."
The soldier felt sorrow for the young man. "Caelid....."
"My home was ruined by the fearsome canines that roam the land. They tore my family apart, limb from limb."
"And you are here for what reason?" A man behind the knight spoke to him.
It shocked the both of them. It was an unfamiliar voice so it being one of their companions was out of the question. The two ready themselves hurriedly. Gabbing hold of their swords and unsheathing them from the holster.
"Woah!! No need for the hostility guys. We're all civilized people right?"
