The perches were made of trees, and to make the shape and function more nature-like, some twigs and burls were intentionally left untrimmed.

Of course, for bigger cats, they would need to be trimmed more, otherwise, there could be a risk of getting stabbed in the paws while jumping.

The untrimmed short branches acted like natural hooks, and with apples stuck on them, neither the red pandas nor the crows could easily take them away!

Chestnut's pale red fluffy tail hung below the perch, and her little paws pressed down on an apple, nibbling at it bit by bit with her head lowered.

The crow, on the other hand, had its claws separated, perched on the wooden rest, its black-blue body pushed low, leaning away from the red panda to the right, poised like a Wild Horse Parts Mane move in Tai Chi, ready for a possible attack, and looked like it could skedaddle at any moment!

All of a sudden, its body leaned left, and its caudal feathers flared out, pecking at the apple.
