Capítulo 445: Chapter 446: Proceeding to Call Mr Storm Pigeon

If Bernadette knew what Cattleya was thinking at that very moment, she would probably feel the same way. Ever since she met the Angel of Secrets, she had felt that all her maturity and composure in life had been far from enough.

Unfortunately, she was unaware.

Even though Cattleya was shouting in her heart, her expression remained firm. She stiffly nodded, signaling that she understood Lynn's meaning.

What could she do? She was desperate, too. There was no way she could truly ignore Frank!

Then, she noticed the two troublemaker showing expressions of satisfaction, which made her grit her teeth. She quickly cleared her throat and changed the subject: "Mr. Gabriel, Mr. Gehrman, the Future is nearby waters. If you two want, we can now head out, and proceed to the mermaid's route..."

Due to concerns about the influence of the Storm Church within the City of Generosity, Cattleya had not arrogantly docked the Future at one of the city's ports. Instead, she had the second mate anchor the ship at a safe distance in the waters, ready to receive them at any moment.

Upon hearing Cattleya's words, Danitz couldn't help but show a surprised expression. He had originally thought that Gabriel's talk of going to see mermaids was just nonsense, but it turned out to be true?

"Hmm, we are in no rush to see the mermaid. We still have something to do in the City of Generosity. We can go after that's done." Lynn glanced at Klein and, seeing no objections, spoke up.

"Do you need our help?" Cattleya asked, not too surprised by Lynn's words.

"No need," Lynn shook his head and then looked at Danitz, who had been as quiet as a mouse since they arrived at the inn. Smiling, Lynn said, "Danitz, it's your turn to be of use."

Danitz immediately recalled what Lynn had said about attending the Sea God Kalvetua's funeral. His face paled slightly and with his lips trembling, he cautiously asked, "Are you really planning to go after the Sea God Kalvetua? He's a demigod, and from the Storm pathway no less. We're on the ocean..."

"That's why I said we'd seek help from the Storm Church!" Lynn replied with complete ease. He then clapped his hands, as if remembering something, and said, "Oh, right, I haven't called the Lord of Storms yet. I should notify them in advance."

Everyone in the room immediately turned to look at Lynn, their gazes seemingly saying, "What nonsense are you spouting?"

Lynn was utterly unconcerned and simply smiled at them, saying, "I'm about to prepare the ritual to pray to the Lord of Storms. Anyone want to watch?"

The group exchanged glances. Klein sighed in mild exasperation, worry evident on his face as he looked at Lynn. "Are you sure this is a good idea? What if you really get struck by lightning? After all, you're not the Angel of Secrets..."

Despite the teasing, Klein was genuinely concerned about his friend's safety. It wasn't unlikely for Lynn to get struck by lightning—after all, the Lord of Storms wasn't known for having a good temper. The Fool could easily imagine that as the god worshipped by the Storm followers, the Sequence 0, the Lord of Storms, must have a similar temperament.

It might be fine if the Angel of Secrets got struck, but Lynn was only a Sequence 5!

"No worries. Even if I do get struck, it won't kill me. I have some protective items on me; otherwise, how would the Angel of Secrets dare let me roam around alone?" Lynn reassured him, completely at ease.

'So, you've already prepared to get struck, huh?' Klein didn't know what to say for a moment. After thinking for a while, he asked, "If I watch, will I get struck too?"

"You won't. Don't worry. If any lightning strikes, I'll make sure to protect you as well," Lynn said confidently, then turned to look at the others in the room and added, "The same goes for the rest of you. No need to worry about your safety."

"I... I'll stay and watch as well." Cattleya's mind was in a whirl. She couldn't quite grasp why they had gone from discussing Frank's mushroom issue to talking about praying to the Lord of Storms. And Gabriel, the person who Bernadette had personally asked her to look after, seemed genuinely intent on praying to the Lord of Storms, seeking some sort of help from the Storm Church.

That would be fine on its own, but from their conversation, it sounded like this prayer could result in them getting struck by lightning.

Honestly, she had no idea what was happening anymore. This bizarre situation was beyond her comprehension, leaving her with a head full of question marks and the distinct impression that she was surrounded by lunatics.

If it weren't for Bernadette's orders, she would have turned and left by now. But because of the letter Bernadette had written, she decided to stay and watch a little longer.

'After all, no matter how strange things seemed, Gabriel was miss Bernadette's Guest. Surely, he wouldn't do anything truly reckless... right?' Cattleya thought uncertainly.

Frank looked around and, seeing that everyone else was staying, nodded. "Since everyone is staying to watch, I might as well stay too. I haven't been struck by the Lord of Storms' lightning yet."

He didn't seem at all afraid of what was about to happen, and he even appeared curious and a little excited.

Danitz, who had been watching the whole scene: ... 'What's wrong with you people? Shouldn't you be stopping this madman right now?'

Danitz felt out of place among these people, but when Lynn looked his way, he instinctively forced a pale smile and nodded, "I... I'll stay and watch too."

'Fucking Hell! What am I even saying?' Danitz cursed himself internally the moment he finished nodding, but he didn't dare change his mind.

After all, when you're in a room full of lunatics all planning to do something crazy, refusing to join them makes you feel like you might get cut down the next moment.

That was exactly how Danitz felt right then.

"Looks like everyone is interested in calling the Lord of Storms." Lynn nodded, satisfied. Then, as if remembering something, he glanced around and said, "But there are too many unrelated people here. Let's find a quieter place for the ritual."

Although he was confident he could block any lightning that might strike, it wouldn't look good to get hit by lightning in front of a crowd.
