Capítulo 399: Chapter 400: A Coming-of-Age Gift from Nyarla

Lynn tensed up, his fists clenching tight!

Although no memories surfaced in his mind, a sudden wave of anger rose within him. It felt as though he had witnessed such a performance countless times before, or perhaps it was the girl's words that provoked him.

He looked at the girl with the black fan and chuckled coldly, "Do you really have the nerve to call yourself my mother? Where's your shame?"

"Why should I be ashamed?" The girl with the black fan stopped crying, her expression curious as she spoke. She seemed to smile, though the fan hid it.

"Lynn Sothoth, you are indeed my child! Even if you deny it, even if you refuse to accept this fact, you were still born because of me."

"You've just forgotten..." The girl with the black fan suddenly laughed, her voice enchanting, almost bewitching. "Shall I help you remember?"

"My child."

The darkness in the palace seemed to deepen, inching closer to Lynn. Or perhaps it wasn't darkness, but a chaos far more profound.

But as the chaos neared him, a crystalline bubble appeared, and as soon as the two forces collided, everything dissolved as if melting ice.

He glanced at the bubble surrounding him. It wasn't entirely his power, or at least not completely. It belonged to his True Self. After that encounter on the gray mist, this power had wrapped itself around him, almost as if his True Self had foreseen this moment and casually added a protective buff.

Lynn lowered his gaze, feeling little surprise. But then he looked up at the girl with the black fan and flashed a false, cold smile. "No need for your concern. I'll find my memories on my own."

"Tch, how tightly you're guarded..." The girl with the black fan glanced at the bubble around him and muttered a complaint before smiling again. She looked at him and said, "Little Lynn, do you really think He is a good 'father'? If He were, He wouldn't have tossed you to me right after you were born!"

"He knew exactly what kind of person I am and knew well what would happen to a little bubble like you in my hands. Hahaha..." The girl with the black fan laughed, as if recalling something incredibly amusing. Finally, she looked at him, her eyes gleaming with joy as she said, "Little Lynn, you are my favorite toy. Born because of me, shaped by my hands. For that, you should, of course, call me 'mother.'"

"Toy?" His anger suddenly dissipated. He looked at the girl with the black fan and smiled.

In the next moment, the girl was engulfed in countless brilliant bubbles from inside out.

"Perhaps your True Self can call me a toy, but as a mere avatar, you have no such right," He said, his smile suddenly turning radiant, but with a dangerous edge.

"Oh, are you angry?" The girl with the black fan seemed surprised, but not panicked. She shook her fan, and Lynn's shadow suddenly expanded.

...

It would be hard for an outsider to imagine what kind of battle this was. There were no intense scenes, no loud noises, and not even the sleeping Dark Angel was disturbed. The fight had already reached its end.

Yet such a seemingly silent battle would have spelled death for any other angel caught in it.

"Not bad, little Lynn. I like you more and more," the girl with the black fan said, as if praising him. Her form had already blurred into a shadow, swallowed by the crystalline bubbles.

He watched her with a calm expression. Though his form appeared unchanged, someone with keen intuition might notice that Lynn now resembled a radiant bubble or a shining light more than a human.

Upon closer inspection, they might see that deep, bottomless chaos lurked within the radiant bubbles, although the two were so intertwined they could not be separated.

Or rather, they had never been separate.

But soon, the chaotic darkness within the bubbles receded, returning to its crystalline state, making it seem as though the earlier vision had been an illusion.

"What exactly are you here for?" Lynn suddenly asked, his tone calm and indifferent.

"I'm a gift, little Lynn, a coming-of-age gift from your True Self," the girl with the black fan giggled, as if she'd heard something amusing. "After all, you are His most beloved child. Of course, He would prepare a gift for your coming of age."

He automatically replaced her words "most beloved child" with "most beloved toy." He wasn't too surprised by what the girl said. He merely curved his lips into a smile and looked at her, saying, "Thank you for the treat!"

"I thought you'd be flustered, especially since you're once again following His script..." The girl with the black fan seemed intrigued by his reaction. Even though she was about to disappear, she moved closer, as if trying to see what he was thinking.

"Maybe..." Lynn said, taking a step back to avoid her hand. Then, he smirked and said, "But how do you know He isn't in my script?"

"Hahaha..." The girl with the black fan paused, then burst into laughter. "You're right. You are little Lynn after all. But it's precisely because of that I like you..."

"This world is too boring, so let's make things more interesting, Lynn."

The girl with the black fan was entirely swallowed by the bubbles, and then all the bubbles disappeared, or rather, they returned to Lynn, carrying all the power that had once belonged to her.

This was not a power an ordinary person could absorb, but he was special. Absorbing this chaotic power was a bone-deep instinct for him.

Lynn's figure blurred again, his human form overlapping with the bubbles, reality and illusion seeming to twist.

But soon, all the abnormalities vanished. He returned to his normal appearance. He cast one last glance at the throne where the Dark Angel slept before disappearing like a bubble.

The divine avatar was dispelled at that moment.

Meanwhile, in Backlund, Lynn, who had been resting at his desk, opened his eyes, filled with confusion.

'So who was that woman? What nonsense about being my mother? And what script is she talking about?'

He was genuinely confused. Don't be fooled by his smooth conversation with the girl or how he absorbed her power. From the moment he saw the girl with the black fan, Lynn had acted purely on instinct. He had completed all of this driven by those instincts, but his mind gained no memories from the past.

The only thing Lynn was sure of was that the girl with the black fan was definitely not his mother.

She might have had a tiny role in his birth, but as for being his mother? Ridiculous!

He refused to recognize anyone as his mother so easily. He thought to himself, then focused on sensing what this latest absorption had brought him. After a few seconds, he muttered uncertainly.

'Time travel?'
