“What are you doing here?” I repeated my question when Cheol ignored me.

He politely bowed towards mom and gently placed his hand on Honey’s head giving her a faint smile. “How are you baby? Did you miss Uncle Cheol?”

My daughter stared at him blankly, and to my surprise, Honey shook her head. “You’re my dad’s brother right?”

I could see the hurt in Cheol’s face when Honey said she didn’t miss him. “Yes Honey, I’m—“ he cleared his throat before he continued. “Jeonghan’s brother.”

But she criticized her violently. “Why did you not visit me and check on me and my mom when dad left us?”

I didn’t expect him to ask something like that. I swiftly hugged her to stop her from saying any more. “Baby, that’s a matter between adults, you are still small, don’t think about it too much. It doesn’t look like what you are thinking.”

“I’m sorry mommy.” She gave me an apologetic look, giving me a puppy eyes and pouty lips.
