Rain was astonished by the endurance of the elves, orcs, and goliaths, who were fighting these dark legions long before they even came here. He was amazed that they had held out for so long against their attacks.

As the morning sun rose, casting a pale light over the battlefield, the dark creatures, typically active during the night, seemed to retreat slightly. Though less aggressive, they remained a terrifying presence, guarding the city and preventing any further advance by Rain's forces.
