Capítulo 13: Chapter Twelve: A Very Bad Day: A Good News Or A Bad News?

Ciara's POV

Once outside, I pulled my clothes back down and acted as if I hadn't just been seconds away from death. That woman was incredibly strong; I wouldn't be surprised if she took boxing classes.

Drawing sharp breaths, my head throbbing, I hailed a taxi and gave the driver my location. As I got in, I collapsed into the seat, my head placed against the headrest.

What a stupid night, but at least I got something out of it. Thinking about the check I had stashed deep into my purse, a broad smile spread across my lips, ignoring the pain that radiated throughout my body.

With this check, I could finally leave town, forget about my parents, my stupid abusive ex-boyfriend Jared, Vulcan, and his miserable life. I could go somewhere far away, where I could be independent and breathe fresh air, but not without aborting the fetus growing inside me.

"Ma'am, we're here," the taxi driver announced, snapping me out of my reverie.
