77% The Vice Captain of the WhiteBeard Pirates / Chapter 219: Problems

Capítulo 219: Problems

"Set a course for Fishman Island."

The crew immediately raised the sails for the ship as the resin coating covered the entirety of the ship as we slowly submerged into the water. We immediately found ourselves sailing deeper and deeper into the sea.

The Sea Kings would often swim past us as we got closer and closer to the island.

"It's been a while since we've been to Fishman Island. I wonder what changed since we left," Stussy commented.

"Fishman Island is notorious for being victims of slave raids. Pirates and Celestial Dragon subordinates often raid the island to capture Fishman Island's beautiful mermaids for slavery," Carla commented.

"That's sounds terrible, can't they fight back?" Pato asked while sitting on a booze barrel.

"Well, you obviously can't fight against the Celestial Dragons, but the pirates are so many that they can't stop them at all. When one Pirate gets caught, another ten pops up somewhere else about the same time," Carla replied.

"That's unfortunate, do you think Roger's execution might deter the pirates a bit more now?" Ken asked. He had just left his cabin and was now looking towards the dark void of the sea.

"Highly unlikely, if anything, I believe the attacks on Fishman Island will increase even more," Carla argued, "by catching and killing Roger, they're practically sending a message that nobody can defy the World Government and live to tell the tale."

"What about the Commander and Pops? They did raid Mariejois and got away alive," Ken pointed out.

"There's no doubt that we, The Whitebeard Pirates, remain a high priority for them. However, the World Government isn't so dumb as to start a fight with no outcome on who will win," Stussy answered in Carla's place, "If anything, it will be more beneficiary for them to let us do what we want so that there can be some form of order within the New World."

"Hm? What do you mean you raided Mariejois? That's pretty much impossible, you know?" Pato asked passively.

Stussy smiled as she patted Pato's head. Pato had long given up on trying to get Stussy to stop this bad habit. He simply didn't have the strength to back it up.

"Long ago, Boris and Whitebeard paid a visit to Mariejois. It was quite a big deal, Boris was in pretty bad shape after," Stussy recalled, "it might happen again in the future, so you need to get stronger, okay?"

Pato's eyes widened a bit, but soon reverted back to normalcy after taking a deep breath.

"Anyway, isn't Fishman Island a part of the allied nations?" Ken asked curiously.

"They are," Carla replied.

"Then why don't the Marines have a base there or something? Most allied nations have a Marine Base installed within their lands. It's a really good deterrent for most Pirates," Ken pointed out.

"Racism"

The four individuals eventually turned to me curiously.

"What do you mean Racism? If they were Racist, they wouldn't have let them into the alliance to begin with," Ken argued.

"Not entirely, The World Government has a reputation for being all-encompassing; so it won't be a good look on their part if they were to kick Fishman Island, a completely different race compared to humans, out of the joint alliance," Stussy explained.

"So instead, they have them as a member of the alliance, but the World Government doesn't really care about them much," I concluded.

"That sounds horrible..." Pato remarked sadly.

"It also doesn't help that the World Noble uses Fishman Island as a hunting ground for fresh slaves," Carla pointed out, "It would be conflicting with the World Government's interest if they were to set up a Marine Base all the way down there."

"I hope they can figure something out soon," Ken commented, "judging from the way you're talking about it. It doesn't look like Fishman Island will be here for long."

'Not necessarily'

Soon, we could see the large island that was covered in Resin. It was beautiful to look like from a distance. The closer we got to the island, the more we were slowly able to see more of the island.

There were multiple smoke pillars that rose from a distance. I could see come fishmen running away while others were busy fighting off some pirates. There were also multiple ships that happened to be docking near the island.

"What's going on?" Pato asked bewilderedly.

"A group of pirates are raiding the island," Stussy replied.

"I feel like we should do something, though it's my first time on the island. I don't like what I'm seeing," Ken pointed out, gripping the railing for the ship concernedly.

"What should we do, Commander?" Carla turned to look at me. Her eyes were almost emotionless as mines were.

"Do whatever you want when you get to the island, I got things that I want to do," I replied.

Whitebeard had claimed the island as his own territory during the series. So it wouldn't be damaging if we were to do the same thing as the series.

Soon, the Resin we used merged with the island's resin as we finally entered the island. The crew soon managed to dock the ship before everyone stepped out.

"Listen up! We're cleaning up this island while the Commander does his business. I want half of you to get some supplies, while the other half is with me!" Ken immediately took command and ordered the crew.

The crew immediately cheered as they discussed who would be in what group. Stussy smiled before turning to Carla and Pato.

"You two should follow Ken and help him clean up the island. It will serve as good training for the new skills you've acquired."

Carla and Pato had yet to manifest their Haki. However, Stussy's teachings had led them into mastering all six Rokushiki techniques, making them as lethal as the rest of the crew.

Stussy and I soon left them on the ship discussing the specifics as I began making my way towards the biggest castle on the island. During the walk towards the island, we both saw numerous residents trying to escape the clutches of the pirates.

The pirates, who would give up once they noted that they were simply too fast, would immediately turn their gazes to the two of us.

"W-What is the Storm Dragon doing here?!"

"He ain't alone either! Is that the Vampire Queen?! We need to get out of here!"

"Oh, shut up and calm down! Remember who we're working for! Even the Whitebeard Pirates wouldn't dare mess with a World Noble!"

"No! You shut up! You clearly haven't heard what this man has done to the World Government! I'm out of here!"

That was kind of the gist of the conversation that the pirates would have the moment they spot me.

It would be then that they immediately begin making their way back towards the ship. Leaving the area that we were walking in complete silence as a result.

"Your reputation has grown, Boris~" Stussy chuckled.

"That's a good thing. It'll make things less troublesome for me," I replied.

We soon managed to reach the castle. The guards immediately raised their weapons and pointed them at us.

"Halt! State your business here!!"

"We're here to see King Neptune, would you mind opening the door for us~" Stussy asked politely.

They looked like they were about to object, but with a little bit of coercion from Stussy's end, they immediately opened the door. They even helped us find where the King was, but they only led us up to the door.
