Capítulo 180: A True Beast
A few moments prior
Kaidou immediately tried lunging at me again before getting kicked off somewhere else.
This had been going on for a couple of hours, and Kaidou remained unbothered by how much I kept beating him. He was a true battle junkie through and through.
I had sent him flying towards the direction of Big Mom's castle. I remembered at one point that she had somehow managed to get her hands on a road Poneglyph during the Whole Cake Arc.
"Maybe Roger might find some use for it," I muttered as I slowly walked towards where Kaidou laid.
However, before I could even do that, I wanted to get my axe back from the island that we had been fighting on. So I started using Soru to dash towards the direction of the island, and it didn't take me long until I found the island where my axe lay.
"I've gotta stop losing my axe," I muttered sentimentally as I picked it up and strapped it behind my back.
"Worororororo!!! I see that you've finally gotten your weapon back! Are you ready to fight me seriously now?" Kaidou boomed from behind.
I had sensed that he had been following me for a while, whether or not he'd attack was questionable, so I ignored him till I got to the island.
I turned to face him as he landed on the ground on his feet with a heavy thud.
"What more do you want? Was beating you around Tottoland not enough?" I asked casually.
"Far from it, not when I know that I've yet to release my true power," Kaidou laughed as he held his Kanabo.
'hm?'
I was curious as to see what he had been talking about. It was then he slowly began to transform into his hybrid form.
It was essential to note that his current form a far difference compared to what he transformed to back in Wano. However, the power amplification was the real deal nonetheless.
"I told you that this was going to be a fight where I would be putting my life on the line, Boris," Kaidou said while scales grew along his body; "but I see that I failed in making a fight worth putting your's on the line as well....for that I'll apologize."
Purple lightning began to dance around him as the clouds took on a darker hue. Lightning and rain fell from the heaven's as I began to feel more and more power begin to eminate from his being. Hell, I was even beginning to feel bits and pieces of his spiritual power coming from him. His strength almost akin to mine before I went against the World Government and fought that bastard Imu. Though it was about halfway there, dangerously near the middle, that was if my senses were correct anyway.
My eyes shone with interest.
"I had said that a beast should use everything within its disposal to win.....This is everything within my disposal!! Show me, Boris! SHOW ME EVERYTHING YOU HAVE IN YOUR DISPOSAL!!!" Kaidou roared as he shook the already trembling island.
'I'm beginning to understand why he had been called the strongest creature.....he was doing all of this before his prime? What happens when he reaches it?! I can't wait....'
My fighting spirit was slowly beginning to ignite as I withdrew my axe from my back. I didn't really understand why he had been holding back when we had first fought here, but what mattered at the moment was that he had finally stopped and was now looking for a good fight.
Gripping my axe with both hands. I immediately lunged at the hybrid Kaidou, his eyes seemed to follow my movements as I landed my axe towards his side. However, he blocked it by covering his side with Advanced Armament haki. The sheer force of the blow didn't send him flying like he normally would, but it did drag his feet to the side for a bit before stopping.
Kaidou smiled triumphantly before raising his kanabo and starting his own barrage of assults. Each swing was methodically planned and precise. I was surprised by how much offensive pressure he had suddenly exerted on me during this version of the fight.
Alas, I ended up deflecting and blocking each one with ease, and while doing so I started launching attacks of my own.
My axe soon began digging deep within his body as blood began spurting out of him. However, he remained unfazed, instead taking those oppurtunities to land some pretty decent hits on me.
I took a brief step back before using Soru to appear in front of him. Kaidou seemed to have anticipated this because he immediately leaped back before raising his Kanabo.
"Thunder Bagua!!!"
The lightning and haki clad Kanabo quickly began its descent as I quickly coated my axe with lightning.
"Fulgura Mortuorum"
I countered his Purple lightning with my silver lightning as my axe collided with his Kanabo. An explosion immediately formed as a result of our clash. Eventually splitting the very ground that we were standing on.
His power was much more stronger compared to what it was earlier. The power kept spreading across the island we were on, and I could already feel that the ground was soon going to be giving in.
I immediately took that oppurtunity to exert a little more strength as I began to lift his Kanabo bit by bit. Kaidou was surprised by the surprising surge of strength as he tried to do his damnest to press the kanabo downwards.
Eventually, it ended up with me winning the clash as I immediately broke off the clash and delivered an upward swing on Kaidou. Kaidou, senses enhanced with lightning, immediately lowered his Kanabo horizontally before blocking the attack.
The sound of our two weapons colliding created a huge clang. The force this time paled in comparison compared to last time. So he ended up soaring through the air, and I took that oppurtunity to use Soru to appear right in front of him while he was high in the sky.
"Shit!" Kaidou cursed as he raised his Kanabo defensively.
I smiled before swinging my axe with a lot more strength compared to what I had been using. The impact of the force immediately sent the hybrid Kaidou flying towards the south of Tottoland. In the distance, I could even see Kaidou slamming into Shiki, who seemed to have been lunging at someone on the field of battle.
I sighed before appearing behind Roger and Rayleigh. Judging from the remnants of haki that lingered between them, it was clear that this was what Shiki was attacking earlier.
"Sorry for intruding..." I greeted the two.
Roger laughed before Rayleigh commented:
"No worries, its a welcome sight to see some allies doing good in the battle."
"We were about to finish this battle on our end with one strike, anyway!" Roger added.
In the distance, I could hear two people rambling at each other as they slowly began to get up.
"You brainless brat! Watch where you're going!!" Shiki hissed at Kaidou.
"Shut up! You delusional Old man! Let me fight in peace!!" Kaidou snorted back.
They slowly approached the middle of the battlefield where we stood opposite each other.
Kaidou laughed before he said:
"What a true monster! To be able to beat me around even though I'm at my best! You are a true beast!!"
